So, with the excitement of re-rolling Horde for my new guild (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/54217-lt-Automata-gt-Mal-Ganis-US-Horde), I am going to be creating some new teams. My initial thought was that I would level the classes I wanted to 15, and then divvy them up so that I could run mixed-class teams through dungeons with heirlooms. There's no doubt that that route is going to take awhile, especially with 10 teams and no RAF benefits, but now I'm thinking of a different approach.
Last night I thought about ways I could take advantage of RAF boosting some teams with a throwaway BNet account, and here is what I'm thinking:
https://i.imgur.com/rDPyBzt.jpg
Those are two models of the exact same thing; I made the second after I thought the first might be difficult to read.
If my calculations are correct, it's going to take seven runs for every two accounts, and that will net me three "free" characters from level granting, with the characters from the seventh, and final, run, to clean up any missing levels. So, with my characters strewn across five accounts, that looks to be 21 teams that will need to be boosted.
Does anyone see any flaws with this model before I pull the trigger later tonight?

I had to do the same call a month back as i was leveling my first teams. I choose to get a seperate Battlenet-account with 5 fresh wow accounts on it which so i could level 5 characters at a time. You would loose account wide achievements (flying in wod/legion) and cosmetics but you will finish the grind a lot quicker. it was the right call for me. Going from 0-90 with a team and RAF bonus was 12-15h for me.
Your method will surely work but it will be pretty painful especially with this amount of new characters i think.

Yeah, with this method it comes down to boosting twice the amount of teams that I would have normally done with a fresh set of RAF, but, like you say, at the benefit of keeping account-wide access to everything I've done over the past 13 years.
At least, with this method, I won't have to boost 21 teams in a 30-day period, although I will still aim to do it in a timely manner, I am able to break it up into 30-day increments for seven teams at a time.

Did you pull the trigger MiRai? If so, are you planning to outfit your throw-away BNET with heirlooms?

The trigger was pulled, and, no, I am boosting without heirlooms. However, I'm re-thinking my strategy (read below).

Revisiting this statement only 24 hours later, and... yeah, I'm tempted to re-think this. I either need to be absolutely committed to this, or I need to start a fresh set of four accounts (fifth stays on my main BNet) and run myself through dungeons with heirlooms.
I haven't done boosting in a long time, and even back when I did, I didn't find it all that exciting. Now, many years later, all of that is coming back. :) I think running mixed-class teams through LFD is really going to be the fastest route, especially since I'm already comfortable with handling such teams. I'd need to drop a few hundred thousand gold on heirlooms for the second account, but that's the least of my worries.
DAMN YOU, BLIZZARD... WHY CAN'T YOU JUST SELL ME 300% EXPERIENCE POTIONS!?

I have done something far more drastic.. I have deleted 7 of my wow accounts to start again, this way keeping all my achievements, looms and mounts. You can request this by submitting photo ID & telling them which accounts you wish to have removed.

That's a bit of an extreme since I have plenty of characters on the existing WoW accounts that I'd like to keep. :)
On the other hand, I've currently settled on a hybrid option of RaF recruitment, where I'm able to RaF 5-man teams through LFD, and keep my main BNet in the end. This comes at the cost of transfers, and while it wasn't easy coming to this decision, I can spread all of that out across a few months to make it feel less costly.

Darn!! I wish I had known this sooner!!! I started a whole new BN when I wanted to start over! Hrmmm.....maybe I should go back to my original and have them delete 7 of them too!??!
Decisions!
Edit...
Actually now that I think about it...I did try to do that but they told me they couldn't remove game licenses. Did something change?

Haven't you amassed a crap-ton of gold to fund this?! ;)

Separating WoW licenses from one BNet and moving them to another is frowned upon by Blizzard these days, but Andrea is referring to completely deleting your account (https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/46998).

I've been slacking quite a bit this expansion, but I imagine I could pay for some with gold.
In other news, I've forgotten about head and leg heirlooms, so I will have to level a solo character in a random guild for a day or two to get those. Tick tock on those 30 days of free game time.

I had no issues..

1986
I had them delete 7 of the 8 accounts under the one battle.net. It was fast and easy.

i think this some time ago as well on some really old accounts that did not have many 100;s but back then you could only do snail mail

Ah yes that's how it used to be, I did mine a few days ago.. it's much faster/easier now.

I've also done this before, it's fairly painless. Talking them into moving accounts didn't seem to be possible.
The trigger was pulled, and, no, I am boosting without heirlooms. However, I'm re-thinking my strategy (read below).
Without Heirlooms it's not clear that throwaway RAF is worth it. Boost Level 17.5x at 300% xp (2 final accounts at a time), versus Level 10x at 155% xp (5 accounts at a time). Equating those to no heirloom/no RAF, the boost path is as hard as 6.452 trips without RAF(or heirlooms). The leveling teams path is as hard as 5.882 trips without heirlooms(or RAF). The decision pretty much comes down to is it faster to boost to max or team level to max.
If you were willing to use transfers off the throwaway accounts, the boosting method gets a lot better as you only need to do it about 10.5 times or 3.5 no RAF/no heirloom boosts. Or you could consolidate characters you care about and delete accounts to gain RAF+heirlooms. Or invest a bit of time on the throwaway battle.net to earn heirlooms (only need 1 set).
However if those options are off the table, I think your call to team level is probably the faster option. Note that boosting probably can use a 15% guild banner which would mean it's 345% XP.

You've inspired me! I've just submitted a ticket to nuke my old boxing licences so I can replace them with new RaF accounts. I'm hoping the ticket will be processed in time for me to make use of the sale that ends later today.
