Hey all! I finished my Youtube video for Hotkeynet dual-boxing for legion, This is a basic guide nothing fancy as some seasoned Boxer's maybe but its does what most will use it for as for instance solo'ing, Refer-a-friend leveling, and gold making.
If you find the video useful please Like it! All links for 2, 3, 4, and 5 boxing are in the description please read it!

I like to see people creating tutorials and videos for multiboxing, so I always try to watch them. However, I would consider myself to be an amateur videographer, and with that I tend to critique others' videos. So, I'd like to give some basic, and hopefully useful, but perhaps unwanted, feedback.
1. I would suggest not including any "current events" in a tutorial video, or, if you do, try to be generic. For example, part of your intro is showing off how WoW is on sale and you're suggesting that it's the perfect time to get in on multiboxing because of that. Well, the sale ends on January 2nd, so that part of your video is going to be irrelevant in just 10 days. In my opinion, it'd be better to be generic by telling people to look (or wait) for sales before jumping into multiboxing (or try it with trials), or just don't mention it at all since it's not part of the tutorial topic.
2. User support for HKN ended over 5 years ago (Source 1 (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:3h44HXc-OmkJ:hotkeynet.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D23%26t%3D2599+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us)|2 (https://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/48414-Requested-Feature?p=372287&viewfull=1#post372287)), and there will not be a HKN2 unless Freddie decides to resurrect it from its current state. What I mean is, it's not currently being worked on, and hasn't been for many years, at least, publicly. As far as I know, Freddie dedicates his time to a program called Mojo, which is for the game DAoC.
3. Try to stay away from saying "I don't know" in tutorial videos, specifically when it comes to basic features/configuration of the topic you're trying to teach. You are the teacher who is supposed to be teaching others, so teach with confidence (i.e. figure out the answer if you want to talk about that feature or topic).
4. Unless I'm mistaken, you can still use HKN to properly load and rename WoW without the Blizzard App (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/53795-Hotkeynet-stopped-working?p=412536&viewfull=1#post412536).
Now, my final criticisms are coming from someone who has not used HKN, but has watched some tutorials on it.
To start off, you don't seem to be giving a lot of information about the program itself. You seemed to breeze through an already written script without giving any insight as to how the HKN scripting language works, or where to even find the "dictionary" for the language itself. People will definitely want to expand upon what you're offering, but if you don't want to provide that, then it should be made clear near the beginning of the tutorial that you are only offering a limited script with limited support. You may be hinting at this by saying you're a casual multiboxer, but I don't know.
In addition, you don't show how to put your game windows into any sort of layout, and you seem to have just left them scattered about your desktop when you transition into the game to begin talking about macros. In my opinion, a window layout is a basic need for any multiboxer, and setting one up should be included in any beginner tutorial. If/When you do mention it (in any future tutorials), I would also suggest not assuming everyone uses the same desktop resolution. So, while you might not be able to give the correct layout values for those who play on a x1440 (16:9 or 21:9) or x2160 display, you may want to at least point that out to everyone that the values you're using are because of your desktop resolution, and those who aren't using the same resolution will need to figure out their own values.
Finally, you can avoid getting stuck when looting by using an add-on like JAMBA, LootAssist, or bobsfastloot.
Again, I'd like to reiterate that I'm able to approach criticism from both the standpoint of both an amateur videographer, as well as someone who knows very little about HKN. This isn't an attack on you or your video, and I'm just trying to help you for whatever future videos you may create. :)

One sec while I try to avoid being crushed by this wall of text you put on my post lol.
1st off, I'm all up for advice and knowledge tho you take your post at the start with a boast about being a " amateur videographer " that right there is annoying as it should mean something to me. I make ok guides for things I enjoy to teach others plan and simple I DO NOT title myself.
2nd. The information about the program not being updated, continued, or supported anymore is news and thanks for telling me , but it still work for what its being used for. Clearly the video proves its still functions with a bit of fixing. ( Clearly someone wanting to do more will take the time and polish to their wishes )
3rd. The start of my video with the winter deals is a time frame issue clearly, but those that find the video in time or DO NOT KNOW about the sale might be informed to its option and save some cash. Now if you miss the sale or watch it mid next year, clearly it doesn't matter since when dose someone NOT put something in a Youtube Video because it wont be relevant in 2week, a month, or a Year if the content you are searching for works who cares. Saving money at any point is never a bad thing to show or tell people about.
4th. Most people who Multi-box from Youtube don't give 2 shakes HOW something works, Only How to make it work for what they need. As myself I know very little of the clockwork parts of the program itself other than how to make the scripts and what knowledge I have been given by others I have talked. Your misunderstanding of how to teach people that have no clue or interest on the complexity of the program is another reason I DID NOT explain them.
I believe that people learn better when given a core of information rather than the medical school course on how to do something new. My video was built around an idea of someone with little time to try and learn something new and help them understand to get what they needed out of the program to let them do what they wanted, In this case Dual/Multi-boxing. Along with the videos recording method, Was aimed to focus the watcher on a single screen watching and learning by instruction without 4-5 other smaller screens all over the screen making things more complicated than they needed to be. Also with the screen layout of other accounts , I'd say that's pretty self-explanatory since in the video i stated HKN DOES NOT work in fullscreen mode. I know for sure people watching the video are smart enough to figure " Oh ya, Lets not stack our other account screens so i can see anything they are doing"
My video doesn't cater to everyone as far as Computer setup, tho I'm sure most NORMAL people that would like to try this are running a dual or triple monitor setup with a 1920x1080 setup at min.. How does someone having a x1440 or x2160 display effect the information to make the program do what they want. I am using a P.O.S Dell monitor at 720 and my main 24" 1920x1080 Asus because my 2-3rd monitors died.
I MADE it a POINT I was explaining the BASICS also telling them at the start of the in game explanation that Multi-boxing is a lot of learning and there is a ton of information out there. You can't teach someone to be a master multi-boxer in 30mins. It takes time and a lot of searching after you know the basics. Addon's and the like would come in time and anyone with an interest in Boxing probably already knows about them or will quickly find them.
This post of "criticisms" that isn't intended to an "Attack" Feels just like one. Without you taking the time to ask questions about my own proficiency or up to date knowledge of creators lack up support or their choice to discontinue / work on HKN2. You made assumptions on the way and how I made the video based on your own preferences and likes, had I taken your advice, I can see how this would go and most people watching would..
A) Miss the limited sale on Legion. either to new comers or old player base people coming back ready to level in Legion
B) Feel asleep on my booring / extremely limited knowledge of HOW HKN clockwork part work, Or Giving them a link to Dictionary to stuff they know nothing about as is..
C) My video would of been over 1hr 30mins trying to explain all of that and noone has time for that BS Myself included,
D) Everything you mentioned has no effect on the Base of the Video which is all a causal or newer person to boxing on youtuber care about.
Considering my 1st video made 42k views and 319 like and only 16 dislikes ( most dislike are new Not Working thing ) I don't feel I'm doing half bad with my approach to simple explanations and brushing over or NOT explaining things that don't truly matter for the end goal. I have OCD and AD-HD, I fit the mold of your normal Youtuber that wants to know want they need to in a reasonable time frame and have it work soon after.
Had I started a video, and had to sit through and explanation of HOW HKN really works or Dictionary talk.. I'd of backed out of the video so fast and started my search again.
I'd say I appreciate your advice but I don't , the only useful information you gave me was that the Program is out of date. no support and doesn't have any possible future with HKN2. I will take this to heart and do more research on other like programs and make a guide for one I enjoy.
Regards,
Riako.

At this point, I think that if I gave a detailed reply that this would turn into more of an argument than anything else, given the tone of yours, and I feel you've completely missed every single point I was trying to make.
Good luck to you. :)

Hotkeynet.com is back up,
Thanks a ton Mat191 for the MOJO link,
I took it apon myself to email their board and go in touch with a Rob@mojoware.org I received an email back.
" Thanks for letting me know that http://hotkeynet.com was down. I didn't know. Turns out it has been down since Thursday but nobody told me. (The host company changed the IP address but I didn't get the email.)
It's working again now. You may have to flush your DNS cache to see it in your browser. If you don't know how to do that, you can reboot your PC instead. "
Got it up and running again for us.

Hi,
I cant get this to work. It renames my windows, but whenever I press ScrollLock, then my keys get no response, even on the focused window where my main char is logged. The KeyNet window catches the keystroke and reports that its sent to windows "WoW1" and "WoW2", but nothing happens in any of those windows. If I disable the software by pressy Scrolllock again, then my main character becomes responsive again.
Any ideas what may be the issue? Keyboard = corsair K70.
