I wouldn't call it new, but I only re-opened my accounts two weeks ago and I found a pretty solid way to make money and gear out a new team.

In the Broken Isles zone while the Nether Disruptor building is up, you can spawn rares using the portals that are up all over the zone. You can kill them in a raid, and every character in that raid gets exactly one Dauntless token, one blue sentinax beacon, and 15-21 legionfall war supplies. You can only loot 50 mini-bosses per 24 hours (resets with dailies).

With 20 characters, an hour to an hour and a half of farming generates 1000 Chaos Crystals which turns into ~200k gold. Plus, every ~6 bosses you kill nets you a Legionfall Recompense bag, which is the same as completing a zone world quest daily. I have so far looted 30 legendaries after opening ~160 bags, and gotten numerous titanforges up to 885 and 890.

There are obviously limitations on it and prerequisites to make it as efficient, but... I'm pretty pleased with it :)

I might have to give this a go. Not as efficient with half the toons but still the idea of getting gold and gear simultaneously is appealing.

Good one! I have done this plenty of times.. as it is the only way to get legion supplies after you finish the dailies. But I only have 5 accounts, so its less impressive for gold. Still good gold though.

These elites used to be taggable by only five characters, but I guess B have added some additional tags recently.
I used to 10box these elites in a raid a couple of weeks ago, and received always loot for only 5 characters.
