Patch 7.2
PvP
looks like they added pvp resilience back @ 40% that other players can do dmg to you, this is great for wpvp!
should give less dmg we need to take
REMOVED!
Keystone stuff *(looks for for boxing)*
Mythic Keystone Dungeons
Added 60 seconds to the Black Rook Hold timer.
Killing Cove Seagulls should now add Enemy Forces credit.
New Affix: Bursting (level 4)
When slain, non-boss enemies explode, causing all players to suffer 10% of their maximum health in damage over 4 seconds. This effect stacks.
New Affix: Fel Explosives (level 7)
Creatures have a chance to summon an Explosive Orb at a nearby location that will explode, inflicting damage of 50% of the player’s maximum health.
New Affix: Quaking (level 7)
Periodically, players will Quake, inflicting damage of 20% of the player’s maximum health and interrupting spell casts of themselves and nearby allies.
New Affix: Grievous (level 7)
While below 90% health, players are afflicted with Grievous Wound.
The Overflowing affix has been removed.
The Bolstering affix range has been reduced to 30 yards (was 45 yards).
Developers’ notes: The intent of this change is to allow players more opportunities for crowd control.
Necrotic Rot will now expire after leaving combat. Duration reduced to 8 seconds (was 10 seconds).
Developers’ notes: This should eliminate the situation where players were waiting for Necrotic to fall off after killing enemies, and it should give tanks more opportunities for resets while in combat.
Skittish threat reduction has been lowered to 75% (was 80%).
Fortified damage bonus lowered to 30% (was 40%).
Tyrannical damage bonus lowered to 15% (was 20%).
Sanguine radius increased to 8 yards.
Mythic Keystones can now direct you to Lower Karazhan, Upper Karazhan, and the Cathedral of Eternal Night.
Artifact Power rewards for Mythic Keystone dungeons have been adjusted:
Longer dungeons, such as Halls of Valor, now award a proportionately higher amount of Artifact Power.
Shorter dungeons, such as Maw of Souls, now award a proportionately lower amount of Artifact Power.
Artifact Power bonuses have been added to your weekly chest rewards. These increase based on the highest level Mythic Keystone you completed

I'm interested to see how this affects world pvp teams. At first glance it makes healers more powerful, and dying inside of one DH AoE stun is much more unlikely.
I'm not sure if this pushes melee non-tank DPS into the 'viable' category, for me, but I'm going to have to think on it.

It would appear that perhaps we might be creeping closer to the top players in gear or atleast have a chance to. I can't find an actual source, but Preach in this video (https://youtu.be/pUOZg4K4_XU?t=275) mentions that come 7.2, clearing a Mythic +10 will now award the highest possible reward in the Challenger's Cache, where as it used have a requirement of +15. Yes, it still requires a lot of work to consistantly clear +10s, especially with the other changes to them, but I don't see it being outside the realm of possibility and definitely gives a nice goal to aim for each week.

At 860 ilevel, my Blood DKs do about 300k DPS against raid mobs (NH trash). I've never tried the M+ stuff because I figured there was no way I was going to beat timers... Maybe I should give it a go.

Anybody know when the 40% damage reduction against players will hit live?

Don't think it goes live until actual 7.2 hits, unfortunately.

Aaaaaand they reversed course--There will be no 40% damage reduction in the open world.

ofc Healers are going to be to Strong........
After continued discussion, as well as player feedback, we've decided not to go ahead with these changes in Patch 7.2. That includes the Healer change I mentioned earlier, as well as the rest of the changes that the OP mentioned.
We recognize that there's a problem with World PvP right now, and we do want to find ways to make some improvements there, but these changes would have been far too disruptive to balance in instanced PvP

Yeah, they decided NOT to do the 40% damage reduction in world pvp. Not-tanks are pretty iffy right now, at least on super populated servers.

I think they are stating "it will break instanced PvP" as the reason for the u-turn.. don't understand why they can not just apply it to non-instanced PvP.
They admit wPvP is broken but at the same time state it's functioning as they hope with it being inherently unfair and getting friends grouped to take down a single decent geared player etc.
I do get that and think it's part of the fun, but current state of things is far from fun. My toons are medioca gear ~860 ilvl 5x and some DH can still almost take me out in their meta, so fast it's very difficult to change the outcome. Things seem to have got better, and with gear I can handle them but 1vs5 IMO should not be as hard a fight as it is.
Guardian Druid, just have real problem. I can only take out a good Guardian if I catch them unaware and burst on a stun. No idea how they do it, should play the class but when they actively tank my toons they seem to stick at 95-100% HP the whole time whilst slowly (or fast sometimes) AoE damaging my entire team.
I'm tempted to start a full DPS team but torn bewtween hunter and lock ^_^ - just don't know if I can invest the time to level up from 1.

I think the only pure-DPS team that'd be super functional out in wpvp is 'Locks. The Sweet Souled healthstone heals are insane. I'm having a ton of fun on mine, but they're only fresh 110s and have average 805 ilevel. There are many classes which can AoE one-shot them.

PvP is always the red headed step child for this game. I'm surprised they're actually doing the weekly "brawl" type thing to mix it up. But I wish they'd listen to folks who have a passion for world pvp.

WPvP you never want to stack your team. Every time someone has wiped my 5 man in wPvP it was due to everyone being stacked up. Sometimes you can't get around it. Such as the annoying issue with water. But it's important to keep in mind.
One of the reasons I run my prot + rshm + 3*BM is so I can keep the DPS moving. Not difficult if you practice how to do it. Binding Shot [@player] > Disengage > Keep rotation going while side stepping for a few. They'll eventually get tired of being kited between the warrior and the hunter. If that isn't enough the shaman can make their lives even worse with purge (druids, etc).
Usually on this team people go right after the shaman. So my warrior always has intercept > shockwave for that reason. In PvP I roll earthgrab totem on my shaman because hunter / war / shm lack a root specifically.
A player who is 920 should handle a newbie group of 850s. But if the 850s kite the 920 and use their toolkit rather well, the 920 should lose.

Interestingly was on last night - managed to get into a few fights with a nemesis DH of mine (around 900 ilvl) and really managed to wipe the floor with him to be honest.
As my toons are all melee it's difficult to not stack against high DPS classes.
Two real changes, firstly being it was during the week so no beer :D - Secondly, was running from my Paladin rather than my DK's and I found them trying to chase down my pally = not as much DPS from them.
Everybody always goes for the pally!!
Need to invest some time next time I'm on to get instant-cast only heals on my focus castsequence for him.
Not sure if any changes made or just me playing better but seemed to do much better last night. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bad now so loosing against a single player is very rare (Guardian druid being my single nemesis at the moment).
Would love to try Locks as my main has always been a Warlock but not sure if I can stomach levelling a team from 1, especially with this new battle.net not having any heirlooms.

It will take a total of 50,000 order hall resources to purchase both new class hall tiers due out in 7.2. I have been using my resources for the 3 seals each week and have not saved up any at all.
One of them allows our weapon relic to give +2 traits instead of +1. There is still plenty of time for me to save up luckily.

Heirlooms will scale to 110 in a patch shortly after 7.2 (rumor (https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20753646577)?)
This added with the increase in dungeon exp in 7.1.5 makes leveling by random dungeons much less painful.

Just wanted to follow up not sure if it was already mentioned. Fighter Chow was nerfed to 400% instead of 1000%. It's still amazing and reduces downtime, just not as high as before.

I could not be happier with the dungeon difficulty and loot changes, the loot increased considerably more than the difficulty.
I 3-chested three different mythic+2 today and received 5 upgrades total for my team. Prior to the patch I would run higher level mythics and my only upgrade would come from the weekly chest.

Agreed, the loot changes are huge. Mythic + now awards I feel comparable ilvls to the difficulty. The only problem is it has made any of the LFR not worthwhile and I am hesitant to even do normal Nighthold, but the tier pieces are much more valuable.
7.2 has been good though.

Blood DKs just had their Souldrinker trait nerfed in a hotfix patch today. Its no longer a single refreshable buff, now each overhealing is a 15 second buff. You cant build up a really big buff anymore.
Its an "undocumented" change that the devs tweeted as a bug fix. How can you completely change how something works and call it a bug fix?

7.2 in general has me logging in a lot less. It's funny because I was really enjoying myself and greatly improving my mechanics and technique in M+ before 7.2 came out. But then it just sorta killed my momentum. I'm feeling even more like a hamster on a wheel lately, with required content being shoved down my throat and the whole scaling thing.
It's probably just that I wasn't quite bored yet and didn't need new content. /shrug
Anyone else?

I'm sort of in the same boat... For me it's that I'm essentially doing the exact same thing as I was doing 4-5 days in to Legion. I farm gold to keep my subs going (which now requires more time as well), I do world quests, just in another area and with the only reward being rep towards flying and I do the M+ keys I have that I find doable and not too much of a pain in the ass... The exact same as I've been doing for months.
All of it feels rather unrewarding really since there is no end-goal for me in this expansion. I'm at about 894 ilvl, could easily get over 900, but why? There's no PVP, I'm not raiding, nor am I really that interested in high level M+, since there will always just be a higher key, so gearing feels pointless. I could make millions of gold, but why? I have nothing outside game time to use it on and don't want to be caught in a loop of farming to be able to farm.

In the same boat. I just ordered a Switch to play Zelda, going to kick back in my lazyboy and play the shit out of that for awhile!

Yeah, it seems to have become and endless grind. I login, do the dailies and log out. Hopefully something happens soon but it's getting slow. Hopefully the heirlooms to 110 lands soon so I can level some alts :)

Holy cow I just did the same thing.
I decided to take a break when I logged in to find this weeks time-gated legion quest to be a single 5 second turn in, where we give him 1500 and get back 1499, or something completely ridiculous as that. I'm mean sure its a big chunk of rep for doing nothing, but for gods sake man!!

I'm getting bored, my end game is wPvP and it simply doesn't exist. I also worry the little bits that I find do exist could be detrimentally influenced by me, especially with the zones I hang around in having a much more active Horde community (I'm also Horde).
I play around doing a bit of wPvP in the Leigon zones but the vast majority of it is farming with no meaningful opposition grouping up, sometimes sweat with a DH or Guardian every once in a while.
Currently tempted to start another team, my issue is with wPvP being my end goal everything else seems a bit squishy. 7.2 made my HPally very difficult so now running 5 tanks ^)^.
Tempted to go with Druid, as feel 5 of them would allow me to swap and change specs around and loads of utility but not sure if they are good for boxxing?
Should really try and gear up a little more, at 880, need to transfer a character for sent farming as on a active PvP realm (in the new zones much higher Alliance pop).
Bit of a vent :)
