I need help Understanding the setup involved when attempting to Dual Box. I understand most but I'd like to clear up a few things =)

I posses two WoW accounts, one isn't mine but I'm free to use.
My computer can handle two instances of wow, I've done it before with no hiccups.
I have a laptop that has a dual core, but I just can't stand laptop keyboards xD
I have Key Clone as well.

I'd like to Dual Box with both computers, or with my laptop as a second monitor. What are my options?

I can set up two games on my PC and use maximizer to split the screen. Whats needed to allow my laptop to act as a second monitor?
What use is Key Clone if you use two systems? Would I then need a KVM Switch and Synergy/Octopus?

My goal is that I would be able to play both accounts at once, with the use of one keyboard and mouse, using two screens. Please help me clarify what needs to be done/gotten. <3

Many thanks, SocialX

If the name on the account is not yours, you are breaking the TOS and EULA. We as a community do not condone account sharing.

I guess I'll have to scrounge up a little cash. Aside that, in a what-if scenario, when all those things apply what are that person's options?

howdy SocialX and welcome to the forums!

actually, if you got a keyclone for both machines, you can then run your wows on each machine... then connect the keyclones together.
the wows would then behave as if they were all running on one machine

personally, unless i want to use the pip feature (which i'm using more and more), i usually run my desktop and 2 laptops to handle 5 accounts. thei made sense as i have extra machines laying around. at one time, while playing shadowbane, i had 6 boxes in my place and 2 in a friends... all interconnected to run 24 accounts at once. it was a bit crazy, but worked fine

synergy and keyclone work fine with each other (turn off key broadcast in synergy)... but synergy doesn't work great with wow (spinning tunnel of star gazing...)

Neat-o! Then what would you suggest? Synergy or Octopus?

Also another quick question: Any other more efficient way to move your characters around without /follow X or wasd? I doubt it, but it can't hurt to ask =D

PS. You wanna lend me $20 for a second instance of your program? ^^

:D

i have been told people are using multibox instead of synergy

as for moving... nope, unless there is a group follow like in shadowbane, you're stuck with the /follow command
you get quite use it... some people put it on button clicks (i use ctrl+left-click for /follow)

It's not that we don't condone sharing/account use with full permission, it's more the fact that blizzard can and probably will ban one/both accounts because of it if you're ever reported; it's more an issue for your own protection :p

I personally prefer & use keyclone as it's setup right off the bat and easy to configure + quick help if you need it usually; though if you don't wanna go for 2 copies, Octopus is probably the next best choice, I hear good things about it from others and there's probably enough users of it here that you might get help if you run into an issue.

As you say, I'm already getting quite used to it. Ctrl+Left Click? Key Clone can be configured to mouse buttons? Or is it another program?

yes.. keyclone will map mouse clicks to keys... check keyclone/setup/mouse-map
