View Full Version : [WoW] Anyone gotten beyond the 36 tokens/2 years limit?

I hit my 36 tokens used limit this week, tried to talk a GM into lifting the limit but (s)he said that "they are hard-set on each Battle.net account". Seeing how some multiboxers have gotten favors from GMs in the past (moving to different accounts etc) I was wondering if anyone has had any luck?

This bums me out as well. They have talked about moving to a system where you can trade the tokens in for bnet cash? somthing like that. That might still have the token limit but they said it can be used for other things like character transfers, server moves etc.. So i hope they will lift the limit then.

The limit is there to stop haveing to much game time when they go to the battle net system I would think they wouldn't have much of a limit apart from the max battle.net battle if they did then a character boost could cap you clean out. Or server/guild and faction change. Is a ton of money.

They can no longer move account's some bad people massed it up.

The limit is there to stop having too much game time

That limit is indeed for this. However, my game time expires in 7 days on my main account, and I've reached the limit.
GMs are unable to "fix" this, so I guess I'll have to make some calls and let you know later how it went :P

I'd love this limit to be lifted I could easily play for free with my five miner/herbalists.

Yeah I thought about that but I will prob end up burning out soon anyway and taking a decent length break. Have always done this before. For now I'm running 3 accounts on tokens and paying for 2.

I managed to buy 11 WoW Tokens from AH on the account that had reached the 36/24 limit before 7.1.5
Can't say if this patch changed the limit, or "soft reset" it but now I'm good on that account for another year :)

125k for each token on EU though >_<

Thanks mate, just managed to buy a couple as well (115k atm on EU). It defo seems as they did reset the cap.

Definitely interesting. I wonder if it was an accident/oversight, something they had to do on purpose to "fix" something else, or whether they secretly increased the cap without saying anything (for now) in preparation for the further integration of BNet Balance into WoW in the near-ish future.

or maybe its at account level and not batte.net i was talking to a GM and they said they pass it on to the devs to see what they can do as a lot of players with multiple accounts have asked why they hit it so fast its not like there BOA and can be moved to other accounts.

I like to believe it's half the book I wrote to a GM last week as to why they should increase the limit for multiboxers (well basically why they should increase my limit to be fair). Think I made some reasonable arguments, and perhaps the GM guy passed it on to a dev who thought it made sense and just changed a setting.

Now it's time to make a ticket to get some compensation for the bait and switch tactics (no 36 months is hardcoded, wont change, so I go out and buy game time, only for it to be changed a week later). If I don't try I get nothing :)

Anyone have official confirmation that it's based off accounts and not bnets now?

Well, it does appear that something has happened. My main B-net which was capped a while back is now able to buy some tokens again. I don't really have all that much gold farmed to try and reach the cap and see what the count is, but I guess I now should get back to it to make the most of it.

Thanks for this :) Managed to get 3 tokens didnt have more gold right now as I am taking a little break right now (switched to Overwatch for a bit) but I should be back soon. I was 36 token capped like last month, I will farm some gold soon and see how much I can push it, would be so nice if they just remove the limit or made it account not bnet wide.

I called Blizzard and she told me there were no changes--She said all she did was look at the patch notes. I was already grumpy, so I didn't ask to talk to her supervisor and see if I could get a better answer.

This of course is contradictory to the reports in this thread so far.

Maybe it's only EU, what I can gather from this thread the reports come from EU players only?

I was able to buy some token as well on my capped account US last week. One thing i notice is if i buy a token on one char i have to wait like 30min to 1hr to see it again if i want to buy it on another toon. I haven't tried buying from AH yet.

I'm not familiar with this, trying to piece it together..
So for a single Bnet account, you can only get 36 tokens per 2 years? so If I have 5 accounts and use the tokens, I would be capped at being able to use tokens to run the account after 7 months?

Looking at this further.. wish I had known about this prior to starting up my accounts again - I would have just make a different Bnet ID for each account.
This is terrible game design. I purchased the latest WoW expansion just 2 months ago, and now I see there is a limitation. But only if you have them on the same account.

Well, that's the way it was, at least, Ellay. It's possible they transitioned to per-account.

I'm gonna' call again tomorrow I think. I'd love to merge some bnets for transmog and title purposes :)

The system has been temporarily disabled as of 15 minutes ago, so whatever was happening could be a result of that.

Not sure if you were meant to purchase these additional tokens on 36/24 limit accounts, and now they're "fixing" it, but after a few tickets earlier and whining in general, now I finally got my "last" account to par with the others so the game times will expire at the same(ish) day.

Each account up and running for the rest of this year and a bit beyond :)

How many accounts do you have subbed up to the end of the year? it seems like you were able to go beyond the limitation.

It's bugging me enough I think I may get entirely new games for their own battle net ID. As I am still working on leveling the right team, don't mind starting over.

I used to have only two Battle.net accounts. 8 game accounts on other, and 2 game accounts on another. When they introduced the tokens, I realized I'm going to meet the limit really fast, so I asked GM if they could separate my game accounts to different Battle.net account each, and it was a bit surprising that they agreed and did their magic. However, the earlier purchases, before the split, were and still are stressing my first Battle.net account. I was surprised again that after 7.1.5 I was able to purchase more tokens on that account :P

The GM underlined that they do not normally split accounts like that, but as the accounts were quite fresh (no older than a few months old) they were willing to help with this matter.

Ellay

ahh makes sense.

I've put in a request to have them split several times with no luck. I think the most cost effective route - granted I can accrue gold in a timely manner is to just get new accounts.

I would wait until they launch the bnet balance. I have a feeling they will increase the limit then, because you will be able to use it for more than just subs. If not, that would be duh duh dumb! Might just be wishful thinking on my behalf though!

When is that due? I've got a few race changes I would do if I could pay with gold.
