Coren Direbrew @ 110

I learned two things about my 5x Prot Paladin group at about 788 iLevel today in the Coren Direbrew fight:

1) It takes almost 12 minutes to kill him.
2) You rez about 50 feet from him so you cannot group wipe and fail the event.
3) It's about ~150 gold per character in repairs.

I couldn't decide whether to laugh hysterically while cheering my Pyrrhic victory or cry. :p

[edit] OK, boys and girls, this is why you always check your hotbars to make sure they didn't "oops" switch to something that doesn't have DPS keys on it. I about died laughing at myself when I noticed that. ~2.5 minutes now that keys are working. And if anyone's curious, my prot paladins are putting out about 90-105k DPS on that fight.

lol! I was going to say " you need a better dps set up for your Prots!" it takes me about 1min to kill him with my prots! ( the first time maybe two mins..my GS is 820ish now )

I always manage to kill him but somebody always dies. I need to macro the extra button that has you drink before you get stunned.

I always have that macro on my bar - you never know when you'll need it for a quest.

No need for any macros... just bind it to a key in the key bindings menu.

Oh well it helps me to visualize my stuff on my action bars.. so my macro stays.

Prot is still silly sauce even after the -10% dps adjustment. My last holiday boss run I did 200k sustained and 350k initial burst with 7 of 8 class gear and world quest drops using a basic priority keybind.

I really don't understand how you guys get these numbers.
With > 840 ilvl I'm doing around 130k on the dummy in the order hall, and that's with some splashing to another dummy.

dps from skada 150 down to 120k
gear 830-833 all pallys

I'm guessing because that holiday fight has like 3-4 mobs in it, so tanks get massive dmg form cleave.

This. He is constantly calling in adds, so you have 99% AoE uptime. If you are talented for more AoE damage, that goes up even more.
