I want to get more eyes on this

Has anyone had this issue:

In game none of my accounts can see what any of the others are targetting nor assist them. Same realm. All addons disabled. Stock UI shows no target, however if I target a random person in Dalaran I can see the target of target and assist them. I think something happened to my accounts when I transferred a character on an account, which is when I started getting this issue.

Could you try inviting them to another realm with an alt to try to fix ? Also have you left Dala to try fighting mobs?

yes Im outside Dalaran and have tried killing mobs. I'll try the realm thing as soon as Im done talking with this GM.

just finished with GM and he is escalating to development team because he can't figure it out either.

I presume they are in group? Maybe a silly question but /assist (as I recall) only works intra-party/intra-raid now.

I have tried so many things I'm starting to lose track:

In group, out of group, between each account, only 2 logged in, 3 logged in, 4 logged in, all addons off, complete delete of WOW and ISBoxer and DL/reinstall, /console cvar_reset, /console InterfaceToT:Show() (that one might not be right), move WTF/Cache folder out, theres more in here just can't think of it right now.

Try making a brand new team say 2 characters, do you still have the same issue?

Also have you tried moving to one of the old world zones?

Another idea: make a new battle.net with 2 trial accounts.. see if the issue remains?

I did make a new team. I also deleted my profile for ISBoxer and started over. I haven't tried one of the old world zones, nor tried my other bnet accounts. I'll get back to ya

sorry I've been busy at work and haven't had any time to check. That said, a blizzard GM took my account yesterday and is testing it. They haven't given it back yet so I don't know whats going on.

there's a similar and pretty nasty bug, where sometimes alts get stuck in a weird state where they cant even interact with the world. (cant talk to vendors, cant attack, etc) you cant even log out of the game and if you alt+f4 and try to log in you get a message that "there's another character with that name already" meaning the alt is still logged in.

this error can continue for over an hour!

so far i just go play another team for a while and come back later.


its been happening a lot in dalaran, to the point i don't go there as a group. and no this is not a boxing related bug, i've seen it mentioned a few times on /trade, people questing a group port back to dal and the get bugged.

a way to trigger this bug is to do some "big" interaction, like talking to a vendor and buying a lot of crap at the same time, or going to the AH and doing a search with lots of results. anything that will make the server send you a lot of data. sometimes entering the sewers is enough.

I've seen this a few times as well. Takes a logout/login to fix it usually.

That's good.. did you find out what the issue was?

They did not tell me what they did, but a developer took control of my account for an evening and fixed it.

I cant use the lock portal in the Dal Sewers as a group, almost ever. My groups get messed up there too...always have to log out to fix it.

Take the leader in 1st without follow and then take clones in after. Works for me. If not my clone can not find my "master"

That sounds like another race condition where an individual client queries the server for an instance at the same time. Because the server doesn't have one for the group yet it creates several per client request.

Seems like the phasing should have a sanity wait on it. Something of a few milliseconds to sleep, then wake and then check for queries. Either that or proactively flag characters which are grouped. So it knows to create one instance for the group leader regardless of who hits the area first.
