Greetings,

Dual Boxing, as long as both accounts are being played physically is not against our Terms of Use. Please note that any use of 3rd party software to assist in this is against our Terms of Use and may lead to actions against accounts.

I hope this answers your question.

Kind regards,

Asoove

hehe, allways nice.

With a source link and screenshot it would be better and more convincing though. I recorded a GM forum statement as follows:

http://captn-log.blogspot.com/2007/05/eu-gm-eilanai-on-multi-boxing.html

Without any evidence the quote is hardly going to convince someone who wants to start an argument.

Even with Blizzard saying it's okay, I'm paranoid as hell. I make sure to move around randomly, and interact with ANYONE that expresses an interest in me. /emote, randomly move around and talk to them using specific things.

Basically, everything I would need to do to prove I'm human. Turing Test anyone? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turing_test

Hm, what about "3-party-software" like KeyClone or AutoHotKey, while not used to simulate makros, just to bypass keystrokes to other WoW Client Windows?

tbh i'm not going with any software like that.
i'm using a KVm switch now. and that can never be found by any software :)
warden could detect software like that and ban you for it (i'm not saying they WILL but they CAN)

I have a tag on my account that says I'm not cheating. If you get enough gm reports a GM will investigate - once they question you and everything goes well - assuming your not cheating they will tag the account. If they don't tag it or say nothing, request and they can. I haven't had a tell from a GM in 1 1/2 years, and I know I get reported many times a day from what I can do in PvP.

All keyclone is doing is relaying keys you press manually, and filtering the ones you don't want to relay. I don't see anything wrong with that but of coarse Blizz can ban your account for whatever they want.

Blizzard will NEVER say you CAN use a piece of software. Stick with the SPIRIT of the game, don't cheat, and play the game as if you were simply mashing keys on 5 keyboards through a multiplexer and you wont be banned.

I am almost 100% sure Blizz tagged my account a lonnnnnng time ago. I go all hardware but still. I have only been asked two or three times EVER in 2 years of boxing. I did not get Warlord without A LOT of reports by people who claim it is unfair.

Moving around randomly or interacting with people is not required. Eventually, humans will not be the only ones able to pass the Turing :) Until then, you only have to respond to GM contacts. And even then its not like there is an automatic ban if you fail to.

The old and current thirdparty standard is that you cannot automate functions, so we're all safe. The programs that do more than to directly feed keypresses and so on is not a greyzone, more like a #EEEEEEzone, which is to day not perfectly 100% white but not really grey either, zone.

Also, Bliz has that global cover-everything-so-we-can-ban-if-we-need-to statement about 3rd party software . Makes it easier for them.

Bliz has to love dual+ boxers. We know what we are doing so we don't tie up resources that cost Bliz alot of money, like support forums and calling them on the phone.

I guess we may tie up some resources from people complaining about us though. :)

i think ignoring stupid reports is easy enough
i'm sure blizzard has to do volumes of just that every hour

it's even better if your account is tagged
perfect reason to reject the issue

I think blizzard would have some balls to ban for apps like multibox. When really the program does the same thing that multicasters do. The difference it that the signal goes from ethernet->eternet, instead of a ps/2->ps/2.
