Sucks.

That is all.

ok maybe not all. the nullifiers, and the last group with their pack of machinery technicians really, really, really suck. Especially for a caster group.

26 wipes later, i finished the instance.

Go to RFK next. Loot's just as good, and it's a cakewalk by comparison.

I sympathize. Only group I took through there that was ezmode for me was my hunter group.

Wait till at LEAST 30 to do Gnomer, if you're not a 5boxer get a highbie to run you through. If you're horde, FUCK GNOMEREGAN. If you're Alliance, get all 5-6 quests and do them once and never, ever return again. It's too fucking long and the landmines at the end can take out 70s if left unattended with little issue.(My first char got ran through gnomer at 30ish by a 60 pala and 60 lock years ago...a few landmines later we were all dead. The next attempt having my friend aggro the entire pit on us didn't go much better rofl)

I only did the first boss (poison elemental guy) in Gnomeregan for the cloth booties. Kill, reset, kill, reset... etc. I didn't see any point going further in for my horde casters.

Not to derail the thread but Dark would you mind if I played off your Gemcutting name scheme for my trio of palas whenever i get around to making them? I almost did last night but couldn't think of any good names :p Maybe different types of Dawnstones or other gems lol

I'm cool with it, although good luck getting the names you want. Most of them are already taken on a ton of servers. I made a list of all in-game gems and 'reserved' the names on lvl 1 alts on my server until I could decide which ones to use. Still bitter that I had to use "Draenite" for a horde :pinch:

Is their a guide that shows what level the various instances are, and what level characters would some recommend for various size multi-boxers? Like I have 3 level 15 characters I have running. Are there any instances they could run thru?

I think wowwiki.com has a list of the instances with their lvls; if you're horde, you can run RFC; if you're alliance, you ain't goin nowhere till 18-20 for deadmines lol

http://www.wowwiki.com/Instances_by_level is a great start for finding an instance that will work for you. As for being lvl 15, if your horde you can do RFC, if you are boosting with a high lvl go straight to WC. or deadmines if alliance. You can enter the SM instances at lvl 20 and its just crazy amounts of exp if you have a 70 quickly clear cathedral.

Shame, shame on you.

Experience is calculated on a curve, preventing low level characters from getting the max xp. My 5 shammies are level 18 now, and I observed this in RFC and WC. I didn't realize the level cap was so low for SM, but I would wonder if it would really be more efficient to head to SM at that point, or keep running WC for a few more levels. I considered creating a matrix of level / mob / instance, but felt it could get rather obnoxious quickly. What would be good to know is, for any given instance, what level nets you the most experience.

From my blog comments:

At level 37, I'm starting to slow down to about 1.5 hours per level. Around level 20, it was just under 1 hour per level. This is totally un-rested, since I left my warlocks to logout right outside SM to summon me back (evil alliance and no nearby flightpaths).

It's very worth it, XP-wise. Especially to get past the 30-40 STV gankfest on a PvP server.

I actually kinda like gnomer... they have definitely toned it down from what it used to be. And that was back when i was only 4 boxing.. a warrior and 3x shammy at lvl 28.

Unfortunately the best Pally tank shield drops off the last boss in Gnomer (it has a proc on block which is very rare on low level shields) - the instance itself sucks bigtime.

If you are getting powerlevlled goto SFK at level 10-19 , you can park yr alts at the entrance and clear up to Fenrus in 4 or 5 pulls. Bring your pulls back to the courtyard or on the battlements and the alts at the entrance will be in range to get the exp so you dont even need to move them.

Yeah, but with the reduced instance mobs levels the gap between Gnomer and SM isn't that big. I'm thinking I'll just wait for the SM shield rather than run gnomer again. That last part before the boss with the dark iron dwarves is teh suk.
