In Legion, hunters will lose many abilities. Hunter pets will not be able to take on a tanking role as they have been able to in WoD. So just out of curiosity, I wanted to test what my hunter team could do without any pets.

In grimrail depot im only concerned about the second boss. Can't even imagine how I would survive all kinds of incoming damage long enough to get him out of the cannon. Is it the gunner mobs who does that crazy frontal aoe? One hit of those and it would be over already.
UBRS we shouldn't even be thinking about - many bosses there I imagine just would refuse to die before I do..

Slag mines have some challenges but is fine. Everbloom (well Yalnu) is really difficult, but I know I can kill him :)

Don't get your hopes up too much. In this video I actually complete the dungeon, but with a bugged version of Nitrogg. All the adds and wind are gone, which makes it a breeze. Didn't plan on triggering the bug, didn't know this could happen. Also, stupid boss can't die in p1 even if you "kill" him.. See in the video :)

My "Huntriest" team (4 Hunters and 1 Priest), together with my Prot Warrior friend (Praelia) killing Kazzak. Some random DPS joined the fight, but that hardly made a difference since we did the tanking/healing (and probably 95% of the DPS).
Artillery ((x3)x5) was used to bring down the boss even faster.

I Misdirected my turtle "Terror" in case of my friend dying due to the breaths (Fel Breath) stacking up. But that never even happened :)

Decided to record my last HFC LFR, that I've been running to collect tomes for the last 2 hunters, and my priest. RNG was nice to me and I finished this week :)

Installed PGF yesterday, queued for Kazzak with 10 toons -> Lots of gear upgrades and hundred Felblights with just one kill. Hooray for personal loot!

It looks like that the 5 hunters is the new 5 mages. I should start focusing on my hunters' macros and rotations.. :P

And here finally comes the video of Everbloom mythic!
Now that I have legendary ring on all my hunters, it appears in the video as Yalnu is a walk in the park. It is however not. The kill I made during recording is probably as clean as it gets, even if 1 hunter (altho the weak hunter without Lone wolf) took a stun and lost some dps.
I also have made a nice endscreen for my videos, with quick links to other videos etc, it turned out quite nice :)

Since the only dungeon I have not yet completed is UBRS, it might take a long time until that one arrives. I don't even know if it is doable with x5 hunters, might have to grab my healer for that one, and get some practice in.

Next week after this I broke the record on Protectors boss in Everbloom. My hunters were well over 200k dps that fight - posted it in my screenshot thread :)

With the Ring ilvls still climbing for 3/5 of my hunters, I believe soon we will se me finally down UBRS also. I know first boss there will require alot of dps to beat before AoE kills. And then the dragon boss - I still don't know how that one will go down. Being unable to target boss 2 times during the encounter ruins the chance of a quick kill. And the incoming damage is just insane without a healer.

Here it is, I beat UBRS! I was close to giving up and getting my healer into the team. But that would have meant that I still technically would be 7/8 with the "real" Inuzuka Squad.
Completing all mythic dungeons with my 5 hunters have been a personal achievement I've wanted for a long time. So I just practiced a lot and eventually got it right :)
Ragewing was the big challenge. I have way more wipes than the 13 counts shown in the video (probably around 40-50 in total, although many were just to observe and learn how to deal with boss mechanics).
First boss may appear easy in the video, but there is a huge challenge pushing out the dps before the team dies from aoe dmg (and before he shields up). At least around 15 wipes before I figured out how to do it.

My original plan was just to boost up 2 more shamans to complete my 5 shaman team. Then I was supposed to wait until Legion before I played with them. The main reason for this was because the 3 ones I had were still in leveling gear, and I have no intention of spending a lot of time gearing them up (and doing legendary quest chain etc), when Legion is coming soon anyway.

Last time I multiboxed shamans (x3) was during my leveling early in draenor, I just wanted them to reach 100 and get the garrison for resources and gold.

But I couldn't resist it. I did Ashran and used some champion's honor to atleast replace the worst 550-600ish iLvl items, to bring the average iLvl up to something less terrible than before.
My main character has sligthly better gear (as in a few more of the 700 blue pvps), just so I know which one will get aggro.

No ring, set bonus etc. Makes heroic feel like mythic.
But that's just perfect for me, I just wanted to get my ISBoxer config prepared, and get into the x5 shamans setup again.

Elemental shamans cooldown burst is significantly more noticeable than hunter. With Nithramus and good gear it would have been a lot of fun.

Shamanistic resolve glyph (60% reduced taken dmg 15 sec) combined with other reduces/heal totems + tank trinket. Yeah..
x5 elemental shaman (with no tank) would crush all mythic boss encounters with exception to encounters that delay unavoidably (like Ragewing).

I've done the Ashran weekly another time, so the gear is slightly better than last time. I'd say that this team has a little bit more left to give in the end of each encounter.
For mythic, legendary ring would probably still be needed to push the Dps needed. Surviving incoming damage also would not be as easy.


One of the shamans got lost for a while until I noticed there were only 4. Not that it caused any problems :)

Don't worry, I have not abandoned my hunters. I'll promise to come up with a nice speedrun soon, I'm thinking Skyreach.

i tried running ele sham though a dungon on the ptr with 680 gear and i could not even kill a trash mob before they one hit me. i probs should of used hex more the problem i was using the vodoo thing that was a aoe hex and it did not work. once i got to boss i had no hope.

there burst is so low. its just not there.

Yea in the legion prepatch shamans will loose many useful things, I guess they are reducing abilities for all classes. And if the dps is lowered in prepatch it's not going to be easy to do dungeons.

It feels like the x5 dps for heroics and even mythics will impossible for most, if not all classes in legion.

Anyhow 680 gear is a bit from where my shamans are now. With PvP items and my crafted weapon (715) + alchemy trinket (725) my shamans are averaging at 705-710 ish iLvl, with stronger items in favorable slots (weapon, and a trinket with a heavy intellect proc).
It will be interesting to see what will be possible after the prepatch..

With my hunters there was not much except ring, rapid and pot to be used, in start at the same time.
So I'm happy that the shamans could offer at least some required planning on how to do things :)

I'm starting to doubt that any of the dungeons in heroic mode will offer any bigger challenges for this team. UBRS for example has ragewing, but this team will will be able to mitigate and heal that damage in heroic.
I know my shamans does not have the dps to bring down mythic bosses with 10m hp, but they are not very far from it. I might have a plan on how to push the dps to just enough. It will involve getting someone into the team that can at least add the spellpower buff. The rest of the details regarding my plan will remain secret :rolleyes:

Here it is. Davidmage has for the first time been used in a multiboxing setup! DPS-wise a mage in the team adds a lot with 10% more spellpower and 5% crit. Davidmage himself is well geared with a legendary ring etc (not maxed tho). But after doing Auchindoun Mythic, I'm confident that the team probably would have made it without his legendary ring. But there would probably have been a couple more wipes just because of RNG and me not nailing the dps just right.

Hehe yeah I play a mage. It was the first character I ever created over 10 years ago. He has been my main for at least 75% of my gaming time, and when he was not I a least kept him as my main alt :)

In Legion my fun with 5 dps being unstoppable is coming to an end. But I must be prepared! I'm doing that currently by leveling a 5 paladin team, with a tank and a healer. What my final team setup will be I have not decided yet, but with these at 100 I have some more classes to pick from. I'm also getting my first practice with IWT, and mixed teams in general :)

710ish iLvl. The gear is almost only PvP items I've obtained in ashran. Weapon, trinket + 1 random is crafted and fully upgraded. There is no set bonuses, and no legendary quest ring in any form. Pre-patch is coming soon. We will see how the changes will affect this teams ability to deal with mythic dungeons. The biggest change is the complete removal of Shamanistic Rage, which in my case gives a 60% damage reduce for 15 seconds, and is a deal-breaker in most boss fights..

I have not even logged on (or been at my computer) since before prepatch. In my videos, the big healing comes from Ancestral Guidance (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=108281/ancestral-guidance)
When I use this on all my characters, the total healing is enough to keep up a shaman being hit by a boss, plus any encounter AoE, even with no mitigations active. When this has expired I use other mitigations to keep the team from taking any damage.

I made video recently (should be on the page before this or something) showing all details of what I use when surviving a boss fight.
Keep in mind that some abilitys have been removed in prepatch. Shamanistic rage I think was removed, I don't think they removed Ancestral Guidance tho.

Since the release of the Legion pre-patch, I have played less than 4 hours total. That is not because of some particular dislike of the changes or anything. I have just been outside enjoying the sun, and catching Pokémons!

Since I have played Legion Beta, I had already decided that my hunters were abandoning MM, and will be BM from now on. MM was kind of OP anyway and had a nerf coming.
As for hunters in general, like all other classes many abilities have been pruned. The things I will miss the most is the talents/glyphs for increased pet healing, general pet tankiness, and of course the traps.
In Legion, it doesn't look like it will be possible to do this kind of x5 dps thing I've been doing in WoD anyway, even if we had all previous abilities. The overall boss HP pools, and lack of a Maalus or similar, makes it just impossible to burst a boss, which is often crucial.
Anyway, here is me right after speccing BM. I was expecting much more wipes, and a lot of more time learning this new spec before (or if I ever) would complete the hardest mythic dungeon again.

However with the flat nerf on the bosses, my hunters could even kill Ragewing on the second attempt. I was not even serious about that attempt, when I had fully understood that my pets are not even hitting the boss, I was more thinking of wiping and quitting (or setting up MM again). 2 of my hunters also died in start due to a unlucky (non) spread on the dragons fire spits. Somehow I could turn that fight and kill Ragewing. Even with the nerf that was quite surprising.
Seeing how well this went, even as I still was learning the new spec, I would have wanted to try this without the nerf for a good challenge.

i managed to clear all but URBS hc's with my demo warlocks, i got to that boss and the same problem my pets did nothing that's kinda bad when the only thing that does dmg is my pets so ya.

Thanks to the huge Xp from the Invasions, my paladins hit level 100 very fast.
I saved all the chests during leveling and opened them for some decent gear. The average iLvl is 702-704.


I had not planned to do anything more for this team until Legion comes.
But when I noticed the fun combination of the talents Divine Intervention: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=213313/divine-intervention
And Holy Wrath: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=210220/holy-wrath
I just had to try that at least once. As I had expected, this was a very effective way to kill pretty much anything.


What surprised me even more is that the damage is not split, but will hit up to 4 nearby targets with the full damage on each mob.
So for one of my paladins at 20% health, Holy Wrath hits over 500k. With 4 mobs nearby that's a 2 million hit :)


There was no wipes on either packs or bosses (except the first attempt on 1st boss, I forgot to enable broadcast.)


But there was many "fail" situations which was saved purely by Holy Wrath. However I didn't mind using it on a pack right before a boss, and having to wait a couple minutes. Better than wiping which includes no awesome Holy Wrath, and repair bills.

Yea. Hope they don't introduce any similar situations in Legion, now that they almost are forcing hunters to go BM.
