Seeing how it's morning time here and I'm browsing the forums while drinking my coffee.

Who here loves the stuff? I myself am a bit of a coffee fanatic.
I find that I'm just like my grandpa(a farmer) who drinks the stuff throughout the day. My wife and I will brew a pot of regular in the morning and I'll brew a pot of decaf in the evening.

In an effort to expand my coffee horizons...
List your favorite go to coffee. I'll see if I can pickup a package of it on Amazon and let you know what I think!

The coffee I'm currently drinking is Tully's Coffee http://www.tullyscoffeeshops.com/
I'm really sad that were actually thinking of moving from Washington State to Connecticut. Not sure they can live up to Seattle when in comes to coffee haha

I used to be a bit of a coffee snob, but most of that knowledge and expertise has long been forgotten. My daily go to is Ugly Mug Memphis (https://www.uglymugcoffee.com/index.cfm/product/156_9/memphis-blend.cfm) when I can't find that or don't see anything interesting I resort to the old faithful Breakfast Blend from Starbucks.

If you feel like throwing a twenty bucks for an half kilo of coffee, then I strongly suggest you to get some of the finnish finest: http://www.amazon.com/Paulig-Presidentti-Coffee-Imported-Finland/dp/B001TORU1I

I haven't had a single day without the coffee for last 30 years, and I consume that stuff a lot; at least 6 mugs each day, yum!

People keep asking if my stomach is made of iron :)

Back when I lived down under, I would buy a nice fresh coffee called Midnight Oil. Its a double roasted, dark and earthy, with an almost oil like sheen to the black coffee. As a consumer of somewhere between 8 to 12 mugs of coffee a day I like to make sure I have a nice one.

I used to buy it from Myers in the central city in Melbourne, although they don't do that anymore AFAIK. It appears to come from these guys... http://www.thebeanscene.com.au/beans.htm

Sadly I've not found anything quite as decent in my new home, so I just use Taylors of Harrogate (supermarket found). They had a "special" roast called High Voltage, which was very nice, so I bought some stock, which has been lasting a while, although when they runs out I'll have to fall back to the Hot Lava Java. When I feel they all get a bit much (usually when my mouth feels all furry), I have a second fallback which is the Lazy Sunday roast they do. I probably need to get out and explore and find a decent roast, but these ones will do in the meantime.

My insides could probably be mined for coffee residue..

Frankly, I'm more of a tea person. Some evil friends converted me to green tea couple years ago :)

having spent 16 years in the military and having to put up with instant coffee loaded with tinned milk, i now avoid coffee and drink tea or hot Vimto hehe

So a semi-necro maybe, but fairly on topic!

Been eyeing a coffee grinder for ages, but since decent wooden ones (I'm not feeling the electric, plastic ones) seem to start at around 120€, I've been a bit hesistant. Now I've taken the plunge and have a grinder and a Moka pot. Using coffee beans roasted in the next town over and I do have to say that the outcome of the first batch is fairly delicious. Dark, rich, sorta hinting towards pan coffee and basically no acidity.

All in all, well worh it since I do love my coffee. Takes a bit to get it done though, so most likely this is the weekend setup, and day-to-day morning coffee will still come from the ol' trusty machine in the back.

Your necro reminded me it is time to do iced coffee again (http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/perfect-iced-coffee/). Although I used the wrong container so I might end up having to dilute my coffee with water as well as ice when I drink it.

I generally do the Keurig flavors.

I like the Green Mountain Hazelnut flavor a lot.
But I also like the hot chocolate too, Laura Secord Mint.

I'll drink any coffee available, I don't care. Also, green tea is super healthy for you, lots of antioxidants in it and if I'm not wrong, also caffeine...

I love it too. My favourite is the Insomnia franchise here in the UK.
Not sure if you have it in the US.

I lived in Boston for a time, and while there really enjoyed the coffee in Dunkin Donuts

I love coffee and tea of all kinds.
I'm not really sure which coffee I like though, I find it hard to really differentiate between things. Kind of like red wine.
Tea I find it much easier to know what I like, similar to beer.

How do you all prefer to make coffee? I use a French press.

Wake up at midnight, the coffee issue is the best topic to discuss for me.
I tasted the delicious genuine arabica on a plantation in Peru. These guys have been making the beverage for 300 years, I trust them =)

The other day I was told that coffee was harmful for health. Thus I switched to green tea :)

You should def. do the research on your own instead of listening to others. From what I've read it's actually pretty healthy in numerous ways. Use 100% Arabica beans, limit the caffeine and make sure the process is 100% chemical free.

Depending on someone's current health it could be harmful. If your prone to anxiety, or have high blood pressure etc. Just have to research.

Green tea is good too!

Herecy!

In all seriousness, ye it can be bad in excess. All things in moderation, etc.

Personally, I like to drink coffee beans and freshly brewed. Recently I have noticed that some producers are trying to sell low quality coffee at inflated prices. It's horrible.

I agree. I live in a tropical, coffee-producing country and I can tell you that coffee companies are buying coffee at the same price from farmers that they have for decades, but they are still bosting their prices. Some companies are mixing in corn, and hiding it on the label in small letters on the back of packaging.

I started buying fresh coffee fruit from local farmers, drying it in the sun like raisins, peeling it with a cheap manual peeler, and roasting it in a frying pan. While my roasts are far from perfect, the taste profiles are astonishing compared to what one can get at the supermarket.

This is probably a weird first post from my account, but I love coffee.
