PTR 2.4.1 Changes and tests.

Hi all,

As here is few multiboxers i think we could test some ptr changes. I will start with 4xWD and let you know how well it go. I know there are wizards, dh and crus x 4 around. My WD are low gear atm but will focus on WD this ptr.

I think in this topic we can talk about classes and performance of them to have idea what is good to start with next season.

Next season isn't starting anytime soon, so you should focus on season 5 :)

Season 5 its 3 months that what they say. And if PTR is up its mean in month should be live i think. I just remember it from blue posts.

From my understanding (which might be wrong) Season 5 will end around 4/15, then there will be a week or so delay and then Season 6 will start up.


**edit: my thoughts before looking into the changes for next season is to run 3x wiz & a support sader. Thought I might just run 2 4man teams one of wizards and one of saders

OK so far I do have 3x Zunimassa(below 100 para) and 1xHelltooth(1k para) and starting to farm. Looks promising as Snake Dart have 35% to stun the target then with The Dagger of Darts x4 its like 24h stun. It will be hard to farm tha tgear when its live but till now on PTR just fishing items to finish 4x dart zunimassa. Will report in few days how it perform.

Craft the Dagger. It's very easy to get. As for Zuni, even easier. Maybe Spined Darts is a better option. Since it generates resource, it can be paired with Depth Diggers which gives 100% multiplicative damage.

As I play casual i need few more items and as darts and legs I need to check but there so far is no blocking bor any problems with fetishes as they are everywhere what make less chance any mob come close to me. Only need to avoid spells from bosses elites. When I set 4x totem it gives mana/hp/attack speed/last random as not sure yet. I dont know if they stack but I dont think they are.

After some tests Helltooth is still strongest set for WD and Zunimassa have some potencial but still lower than Helltooth :( and yes Wizz looks OP atm. I hope meta will change for S6 as it will keep this way time to go 4 x Wizz :)

Dont surprise when they nerf Vyr's to the ground and make it useless. It's not gonna be that way LIVE. PTR just started so things will change drastically as always. Hope they buff the rest of sets (WotW, IK, Arachyr, Akkhan, etc.).

I hope meta will change for S6 as it will keep this way time to go 4 x Wizz :)

If you go 4x Wiz, you won't be able to push high GR because you will not survive.

You'll hardly reach 100M raw toughness in town, which is maybe 200M toughness with buffs, but you can't reach the required 1B+ toughness for GR80+. Teams going over GR100 reach 3B+ toughness with all buffs combined, so globe generation is not the only reason why Meta-team is build that way.

Obviously 2.4.1 is a huge DPS buff for a lot of sets, but if you keep on dying because of elite affixes, there is no point.

It seems that Archon form has been nerfed again in PTR. Didn't last long ;)


[edit] PTR Patch 2.4.1 Build 36239. Like I said... Archon is dead, but also, Crusaders get buffed.

- Akarat's Champion: The damage bonus granted is now multiplicative with other sources of bonus damage.

This might give even more interest to the above template. We'll see.

Vyr's was nerfed but the big buff was not the 300% that is now 30%, but the set IAS and the Archon runes, basically Improved Archon which went from 22% to 50%, not mention everything is multiplicative now. So 20% to 30% now instead of 300% is still a lot compared to 2.4 if u add up everything else. What I read was that this nerf means only -7 GR or so.

DHs M4 + S2 is over now. S2 wont buff sentries so that build is gone as expected.

Nice to see Akkhan's buff. Condemn might come back now. Wish they added a bit more toughness somewhere, but better than nothing.

The thing is, obviously no serious player is trying to top the PTR leaderboard now... Because at the moment a given spec reaches GR100+, it gets nerfed to the ground. So, all we can do now is wait for 2.4.1 to come live and check for good specs then.

Bye Gogok? What are u talking about? They made it even better, they added Dodge on top of the IAS and CDR :P Also it's 100% from rank 1. U still need to hit something to get a stack tho.

S6 I'll play DHs once again. I just want that stash space really fast and then go back to non season to push and get more paragons. No clue what the new meta will be, I'm just glad ET wizard is gone!

It seems that the buff provided to the regular Thorns/Invoker template is quite effective.

It also seems that (as mentioned before) players aren't pushing GRs on purpose, so that newly found setup aren't nerfed to the ground by Blizzard.

They nerfed Gilded Barons money drop, I hope that this part (the 50+M gain achievement) will not become impossible to achieve...

U can always do Ruins of Corvin with BoH gem and 8k+ gold find. Just go thru the map without killing anything and "spawning" all the little mobs, that way u have a clear route for the real run where u kill everything. It's pretty easy that way. Prolly wont take more than a couple tries. I also hope Gilded Barons are enough cause that way I can get the achievement with all 4 at once without having to dedicate time for the achievement like for The Thrill.

I see Firebird Archon being VERY strong, same as Invoker Akkhan. We will see the first couple weeks of S6. Yeah, they are not showing their meta composition on purpose so it doesnt get nerfed.

This build is the most well-thought I think :

It shows 700+ M toughness with Akarat's Champion, but without Iron Skin. With Provoke he'll be focused on, so he'll block a lot, so he'll maintain up all skills on cooldown. Also the trick is, he's using a Belt of Bombardment just for the 50% damage reduction.

Because of the block thing you can't use this setup several times in a group however.

With how squishy you are i don't think it'd be all that viable without one of your 4 being dead quite often at high end rifts but it should be possible.

Syncing of archon might not be the easiest though.

I was thinking on having 3 Archon Wizards + support Crusader or support Barb but it's too soon to decide. They will most likely nerf something on the Firebird's Archon spec cause it makes no sense that Firebird's Archon is way stronger than Vyr's which is the Archon set.

This build is based on reducing time between Archon forms, and obviously that time won't be the same for all of the characters, so this is going to be very hard to sync...

Eventually it might be a good idea to use a small DxNothing layer that shows Archon icons for all characters, and trigger Archon when they are all available.

I have been running some tests (on live servers, not on PTR) and right now my most effective combo is a Thorn Crusader (Akkhan/invoker) with 3 zDPS. I'm uploading a GR60 video to show the playstyle, then I ran GR70 after that, so... this is way less than the Meta-Twister combo, but the Twister Wizard will be nerfed to the ground in a few days and most importantly...

For a once, video shows a PRE-BUFF combination instead of a pre-nerf. Oh yeah :cool:

There one flaw to this combo however, I can't have my Crusader equip Illusory Boots.

Combo is quite easy to play (out of the boots problem), buffs and debuffs synergize well.

I tried other "main DPS", among them...

- Arcane Orbit Wizard : I'm stuck @GR72 with that combo (not enough DPS), and it' won't be buffed in 2.4.1, so, not good enough. However, as usual, I don't have the required ancient weapon...
- Crusader with Heaven's Fury. While this is funny to see, not only the damage output is so-so, but also the character is extremely weak (not enough toughness).

Monk, DH and WD have good start to. Not sure about barb and wiz but crus looks really good. I think Monk or Crus S6. But we will se on the end of ptr how solo and 4 man will looks like. Looking forward to it.

Some dude on PTR is using a Wizard template that seems to be based on the Arcane Orbit setup... save that he has 2x4 Arcane stuff orbiting around him, which is 4x "balls" and 4x "stars", not sure how he gets the extra 4. Seems to work nice.
