**This Guide is based on Multiboxing and leveling a lot of teams**
*If you are only going to level one (1) 5-man team, I’d suggest having a Tank, Healer and 3 DPS and using the LFD @ level 15.*
This Guide Covers how to quickly level multiple characters using Heirlooms, Recruit-a-Friend and Multiboxing.
Teams
We will be using a level 100 to power level the remaining four (4) Characters; my suggestion is a Protection Paladin using the Glyph of Consecrator.
The other 4 Characters are linked via Recruit-a-Friend:
[Character2] –Linked- [Character4]
[Character3] –Linked- [Character5]
The Team should look like this:
[Level 100, Character 2, Character 3, Character 4, Character 5]
Heirlooms
Equip as many experience heirlooms as you own to all 4 of the new characters. It really doesn’t matter what type, they won’t be doing any damage.
The Process
Moving all the characters around can get annoying, use a combination of Summon Friend and Meeting Stones and it will be easier. For me I use my level 100 with a two seat flying mount and I take character 2 with him, fly to the new location and then character 2 Summon Friend’s character 4. We then summon via Meeting Stone characters 3 and 5.
Level 1-10
This is by far the slowest leg of the process, I usually just do the starting area and skip any quests that are not multi-box friendly.
Once all four characters are level 10 then move them to Orgrimmar/Stormwind.
Level 11-23
Do the quests here for added experience.
Using the level 100, Run Ragefire Chasm for (Horde) and Deadmines for (Alliance) until the new characters are level 23.
Level 24-33
Using the level 100, Run Scarlet Monastery until the new characters are level 33.
Level 34-42
Using the level 100, Run Scholomance until the new characters are level 42.
Level 43-57
Using the level 100, Run Stratholme: Service Entrance until the new characters are level 57.
Alternately you can run Sunken Temple at level 45, but the travel is time consuming.
Level 58-63
Do the quests here for added experience.
Using the level 100, Run Hellfire Rampart until the new characters are level 63.
Level 64-68
Using the level 100, Run Sethekk Halls until the new characters are level 68.
Level 68-77
Using the level 100, Run The Nexus until the new characters are level 77.
Alternately you can run Violet Hold at level 72, but the travel is time consuming, and its instance paced.
Level 78-85
Do the quests here for added experience.
Using the level 100, Run Blackrock Caverns until the new characters are level 85.
Level 86-90
Do the quests here for added experience.
Using the level 100, Run Temple of the Jade Serpent until the new characters are level 90.
Conclusion
This is my personal routine and I use this to level several teams within a week or so and is my main strategy for leveling 88 characters, also don’t forget about all the grantable levels you will have access to after leveling a team.

It's always nice to have an update of this from time to time since new multiboxers may be looking for a route to boost their characters with.

Very solid routine, some things I do differently is 15-25 stockades since the 100 can pull entire zone very quickly, 45-58 sunken temple just park your lower levels in the middle ring so they get kill xp and I've been able to clear that place in sub 3 mins a run. I also add mana tombs in the mid 60s since exit is very close. Also, as soon as you can do gundrak, I believe its 73 or 74, I find it to be the best xp/hr at the lvl. Take it all the way to 80, small dungeon 6-8min clear time, and exit very close.
Thanks for this, I've been making a few minor tweaks personally. Notably I hit up Forge of Souls at 75 to grab Papa Hummels' Bag for my minions and the XP is not bad at all.
Right now I'm just levelling alts to fill out the requirements for Stay Classy and this has been a BIG help.

This method still pretty much the best? Any feedback on party location while boosting these zones? My guys died a few times trying to do SM cause they were following me and aggrod something I didnt see.

I tried it. I brought in my 100 hunter with a bunch of 60ish DKs. I found that using my RAF bonus levels to boost a paladin to 60 then just have her heal the instance was comparable or possibly quicker xp, and it made it so it wasn't boring.
That was this morning, and they're level 84 now.
One thing you need to know when boosting with a method like this kalos72, is the minions need to do like Carl on the Walking Dead... Stay in the house, the adults are killing things.
With Scarlet Monastery for example, you can clear the instance in a handful of pulls. So, move your team and park them in key locations, then move your tank out to clear trash/bosses. I smell a video tutorial on the horizon.
Nice! I used a more complicated route just to avoid boredom when I was leveling most of my teams months ago, but now that I'm leveling my last 2 characters, this is much faster. Since I'm Horde and I'm using a lvl 100 mage, Sunken Temple is really easy to get (Portal to Stonard).
One thing to remember is to buy and equip your faction's main city tabard, so you can get the riding skills at discounted price :)

Thanks for the tip about being able to get into Forge before level 80

Leveling 88 characters, that's amazing. I definitely enjoy leveling this way, mostly dungeons with occasional questing.

i'm about to start a new team and this was exactly what i was searching for i was just wondering if this would still work without RAF.
my 90 day RAF ran out a while ago and as far as i know you cannot re-enable the RAF to get the extra EXP boost while level (Correct me if i'm mistaken).
obviously it would be slower but still would be the best way to power level a team?

at level 16 I switch to Stokade since its faster to complete and the bonus xp from completing is quite a boost

They've nerfed the bonus completion xp for no reason in the last two weeks. I think the nerf applies to everything under 60.

In my opinion the best way to level new accounts with RaF would be:
WoW2 recruit WoW3 recruit WoW4 recruit WoW5 recruit WoW2
Every of your WoWs gets the 30days gametime + mount reward.
Leveling:
Once your first team reached lvl 90, every char in this team has generated 44 bonuslevel to give away.
Every next team on the same Server/Fraction only needs to be leveled to 46! Now you can push your new team up to 90 with the bonuslevel from the lvl 90 team.
This new Team has also generated 44 level to give away.....and so on.
DKs start at lvl55 and just gives you ~17 bonus level, so they should be the last team on your server to level up.
I tested this method with 5 new accounts, and it works very very well.

First of all, can we sticky this please? :)
Second, from 90 do you just group quest through WoD? At what point do most average geared boosters need to start to really pay attention as they go through dungeons?

Is this still viable? My friend told me doing dungeon finder with RAF is faster than this.

I am doing my teams now with this, still works like a charm with a booster. Not sure about a 5 man team but the levels are still pretty spot on.

Question about expanding this guide...
Any suggestions on instances to run 90+ toons through with a level 110 booster? I have 6 out of 30 that I didnt finish the Invasion grind with, 3 on two teams. :(

When I boost RAF toons this is the format that I usually follow as it works best for me:
1 - 10: Questing
Horde:
10 - 21: Ragefire Chasm
21 - 35: Scarlett Halls
Alliance:
10 - 20: Deadmines
20 - 25: Stockades
25 - 35: RFK
Both Alliance and Horde:
35 - 45: RFD
45 - 60: Sunken Temple
60 - 68: Blood Furnace
68 - 77: Nexus
77 - 85: Blackrock Caverns
85 - 90: Temple of the Jade Serpent

From 90 I went to bloodslag mines instances (horde starting area). The first run I parked my toons at the start of the entrance then stealth either my rogue or feral Druid to bosses and kill them.
At at the last boss I would take the potion that gives me 300% Xpoff plus the 20 % xp from the garrisons resources. Kill the boss. My alt would run out log off.
My my would get naked and run into to the lava, die and start at the beginning of the instance. (Very little cost in repairs, not sure why)
reset! Do it again but this time, I won't log in with my ALTS till the I get to the last boss.
The stealths were good I could just go to the boss without killing all the trash.
Maybe when ur at 110 it should be a breeze?
At 105 I went to Auchindoun. did the same again.
At level 99 I went to Nagrand and flew around getting treasures.

I stopped boxing in MoP so I have a bunch of toons in the 80's on accounts 4 and 5 that I need to get 100 (non-RAF) so I'm hoping someone can clarify a couple things before I start putting together teams and start the dungeon grind.
If I make a level 80 the leader can I Q for LFD if I have 2x80 and 3x100 to 110? I had hoped that as long as I filled all the class roles that this would avoid the travel time sink.
If I can do the above is there an experience downside with the higher level characters in the group?

No, you can only queue if they are within a few levels of each other. My level 80 priest could queue with my level 84 priests but could not queue with my level 90 druids. There may also be breakpoints where you can't queue even though you are within a level or two of each other but I haven't tried that in a while to confirm.
[edit] Confirmed. Tried to queue my level 82 priest with my level 90 monks. When queueing from the 82: "You cannot queue: player2's level is too high." When queueing from the 90: "Player1 must have a higher gear level; Player1 must advance to a higher level."
[edit2] Also confirmed with my 84 DK.

Do you stay in spawn with slaves or do they follow the booster?
Ualaa

Generally for boosting, I would have the slaves near zone in.
Then run the higher level guy to whatever point is good -- have to experiment a little, to find a sweet spot where the pissed off mobs will continue to chase you, and you can survive getting to the zone in.
There is both a range in which your booster can survive running the mobs back to near the slaves...
And a range from the slaves, in which they get experience for your kills.
If you can park them at zone in, and kill the far end of the zone, and they still get experience, then there is no need to move them at all.
I'd imagine with higher toons and better gear, the sweet spot is deeper into the instance with each expansion.
The most recent time I did RAF, the booster was a level 70, and could die in level 50+ dungeons with even just half of the dungeon.
Run the mobs most of the way to the slaves.
Kill the mobs.
Use follow to get the slaves most of the way to the previous sweet spot.
Take the main to the next sweet spot, aggro stuff and then run almost to the slaves.
A tanking class, with an AoE power, is the ideal booster.
Up to a point, any class with AoE can boost.
Faster run speeds are a bonus.
Dungeon Finder is nice, in that you can park the slaves in a non-contested zone, and just warp right into the dungeon; PvP rocks once you've got your levels, but when you're grinding RAF it can be a nuisance.

PvP rocks once you've got your levels, but when you're grinding RAF it can be a nuisance.
Transfer your booster to a safe realm, transfer back once done, or leave there for future use. Groups are based on whichever realm has the most of the highest level in group. Ties are broken by lower level characters, but the booster should always set the realm as it's the only character at it's level.
With the amount put into running multiple accounts, it's a fairly small expense to secure a booster on a safe server.
