I have a 3 man hunter group running around right now, and it's some of the most fun I've had in WOW in years. I'm looking to set up a 3 man group to try and run some current dungeons though, and I can't figure out what would be the best composition (or if it would even be possible.)

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of two paladins and disc priest (driving from the healer), or maybe warrior, mage, disc priest (driving from the warrior). I'd be open to any comp though, and I'm just looking for what would be the most effective, since I haven't been able to justify to myself the monthly fees and box prices for 5 boxing yet.

Or would a non-trinity group be more effective when limited to 3 boxing? Maybe something like two hunters and a healer, or 3 boxing something like three shamans or boomies that have better healing than 3 hunters?

I'd appreciate any input.

Well... I honestly think the 3x Hunter is one of the better ones. All specced BM, I would imagine you can clear most dungeons up to atleast heroics. Just keep those pet resses rolling!

Outside of that, I guess a trinity setup is the safest bet. Tank+healer+dps works fine, although if there is a sort of "soft enrage" mechanic, you might hit the time limit quite easily.
