MR GM11:11:31
Hi there. I am Game Master Staznox. I am just having a look at your ticket and will be right with you :)

YOU11:11:45
Cheers thank you.

MR GM:12:01
ok, so your ticket is asking about game moves between battlenet accounts I read :) ?

YOU11:12:10
thats correct

Mr GM11:12:17
What is the other account email address you are thinking of using ?

YOU11:12:40
havent made the new battlenet account yet

MR GM11:12:56
Generally you see , the only reason we would move games would be to consolodate them all together and not split them up

YOU11:13:01
if its not possible I wasnt going to bother. So any movements would be to fresh Battlenet accounts.

MR GM 11:13:36
You still have room on your bnet account for a wow game so I don't think at this moment we would look at the ability to move a wow game for you to a brand new bnet account as that would be splitting games up

YOU11:13:41
the reason is all to do with WOW game tokens. I would prefer not to pay, and currently have a restriction on how many tokens i can use every 24 months

MR GM 11:14:52
yes, there is a restriction on tokens but it's a high restriction so not one that would really affect your wow games though to be honest

YOU11:15:23
36 tokens every 24 months ? i run 8 accounts

MR GM 11:22:21
Can I ask where you saw the 36 token restriction notice ?

YOU11:22:44
erm, multiboxer stream i think.

YOU11:22:48
is it not 36 ?

MR GM11:23:24
It's all a bit grey and fuzzy for sure as giving out definite figures again can get abused by others but the figure is actually much higher ;)
MR GM 11:23:40
It's a monthly restriction and there's enough room for your 8 accounts :)

YOU11:23:55
say no more

MR GM11:23:59
can I keep it like that for you without going in to exact figures :) ?

YOU11:24:09
i got yah. well thats brilliant news.

MR GM11:24:11
cool

MR GM11:24:25
word of mouth and chinese whispers I think at play here

Edited out the GM joke which was terrible. Not sure if people were aware of this, I like a lot of people thought it was a restriction of 36 tokens per battlenet account every 24 months, which clearly isnt the case.

Sorry if this is old news but couldnt see anything anywhere else about this.

CHeers.

Jim.

EDIT

Took out the GM's name

That's pretty cool news. Btw, might want to edit out the GM name, not sure if he can run into any trouble for giving you that info.

Either the GM has secret inside knowledge that Blizzard didn't tell everyone else in their public announcement (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/19823808/wow-token-additional-details-7-23-2015) back in July, or he's the new guy who is misinformed. I'd go ask some more GMs to see what they have to say about the matter since Blizzard has a page on their site (https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/using-a-wow-token) dedicated to this information.

"Can I ask where you saw the 36 token restriction notice ?"
"Uhhh... Your site?"

Well I'm sure ill find out this year..but I hope he is right. The only reason I have been making gold is to play for free as long as I can. I was expecting to run out of tokens at the 7th month mark..but i was fine with that, more than half a year for 5 accounts is nice, anymore than that will be nicer lol!

My guess is that the GM is oblivious.

I have been token capped, unable to buy more for a few months now and just checked to see that the change of the year has not affected that. Can't be sure of the exact number of tokens I've purchased but by judging by the time I started buying them and the time I hit the cap, I would say the 36 at least very close to, if not the exact number.

Had similar experience trying to get my accounts moved to separate B-nets I created. Even tried my luck a few times incase I got a more lenient GM. They all claim the "we do not separate accounts blahblah" although another multiboxer I was talking to said he has previously been offered transfers of accounts to other B-nets. Maybe if you get your hands of a senior GM or something...

That GM is one of those customer service reps.

I have come up against the limit myself. 36 tokens per 24 month period per b.net is in effect.

I actually had my accounts split from 2 bnets to 10, and then back down to 5, because I was told you could pay for 2 accounts per bnet without running into the restriction.. I guess that's not the case any longer!??

The limit is 36 per battlenet account each 24 month.

I wonder if it would be possible to ask a GM to increase the limit, just like they have (sometimes) been willing to make exceptions for multiboxers in the past (aka bnet account transfers etc ...).

So at the 18 month mark you will hit the limit on each of your battle.net's. (18x2) So that will leave you 6 months per account that you will have to pay for out of each 24 month period.

2 years is a long time though so I can imagine some changes before then.

No matter how many tokens you buy with gold, somebody somewhere had to have paid cash for it. Blizzard got their money for it so from that perspective there is no reason for them to have a limit. The limit must be in place for some other reason, and I cant imagine it would be to stop bots or gold farmers as their accounts don't even last 24 months. I draw a blank.

I draw a blank. To further that, I submit that a limit on tokens would be directly antagonistic to the war on gold farmers; more tokens available for purchase = more people buying tokens = more tokens sold for real money = less desire for gold-farmer gold. Unless there's some unannounced dynamic Blizzard isn't talking about, like not enough people are purchasing tokens for sale and they're dumping some on the market as a gold sink. Doesn't really pass the smell test but it's all I can come up with. :p

I think you are on to something.

Players earning gold to play the game for free still adds to the game and overall health. People that are paying for their subs are also probably willing to purchase stuff from the in game store and probably wouldn't if the game felt dead.

The thing is nobody really knows how long the game will last anymore. Blizzard can not sell more than 36 months pr account, and thats a safty system for themselves, be couse one day the game will have to die. Nobody knows if theres 1 or 2 expansions left. If Ligion does not do "very well" I think blizzard is forced to move on.

I would submit Everquest as a counterpoint. ;)
