Thought I'd post here see if anyone has a suggestion, I suspect it's video card related. Which really bugs me because I only got this thing in October.

I've found that I'm getting some weird artifacts when fishing along with some other oddities like random freezes and crashes. I've backed everything to bone stock settings, and lowered my settings in game and I'm still seeing the artifact problems as shown in the pictures below.

Then I dropped my settings to 1080p and Fair settings across the board, same problem. Happens immediately after casting with my rod then settles into a normal animation. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for more such issues, but being the holiday still I'm not getting much time to investigate further.

Thoughts? Should I pull the trigger and RMA it?

Does it do the same thing with the DX9 renderer?

Good question, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a shot.

I set myself up using DX11 (been using 12 since i build this machine a couple months ago). After 100 casts I never saw another glitch in the bobber at ultra settings. I did the winter's vale dailies and a few quests and still haven't seen any issues, so I'm going to call it fixed until it makes a liar out of me, thanks Ugh - this is why I post here, cause somebody (usually you or Mirai) will think of something I haven't.

World of Warcraft only uses DX11 or DX9, and it does not use DX12 at this time. The fact that Windows 10 supports DX12 just means that it supports it, and and nothing else. There are currently no games on the market that run off of DX12, and just because a game doesn't support it, doesn't mean that it's automatically incompatible with the OS seeing as it would be silly for W10 not to support other levels of DX when the entire market is filled with those games/programs (i.e. backwards compatibility with DX has existed for quite some time).

As for the fishing bobber glitch... I don't know. It almost looked like a corrupt texture on just the bobber, so my first guess would have been a, possibly, corrupt file in your WoW folder. You also said freezing, but again, that could be all kinds of things depending on the install, settings, hardware load, the fact that your panels use 144MHz, an outdated add-on, software running in the background, or whatever else. Saying, "I get freezes from time to time," is just too broad of a statement to base anything off of.

I think I figure out the random crashing/freezing. Someone (I suspect
my wife) installed McAfee anti virus on my machine, a fit was scanning while I was 5 or 10 boxing.
