Ding 70 x 4 shaman :) and some thoughts on the PvP Blue set.

Well I got my new toys to 70 yesturday dinging withing 1 quest of each other and now the PvP fun begins!

So my firt stop was getting some starting PvP gear thanks to the new blue sets, for those that dont know you need honoured with different outlands factions to buy 1 piece of the 5 piece set.

The damage set Req:
Thrallmar chest
CE hands
Shatar helm
Lower City legs
Keepers of Time shoulders

The Healing set:
Lower City chest
Thrallmar hands
Keepers of Time helm
CE legs
Shatar shoulders


Now at first I did what I guess most would do and say to myself "right I need the full damage set simple". but then I started to think why not mix them, would save me having to farm KOT rep, I still need shatar rep but I have ot get that for the helm enchant(revered) anyway.

DMG chest - thralmar
DMG hands - CE
DMG helm - Shatar
HEAL legs - CE
HEAL shoulders - Shatar

Pro's
you get 2 x 35 resi set bonus <uncofirmed till servers are up>
Dont have to farm KOT rep - means i can spend a day PvPing instead and probbaly make enough honour for an epic.
you gain some stam on the healing set but lose int. - good trade imo going OOM means I have to drink going dead is a pain.
Better healing - duh!
no extra PvE grind - for me thralmar / Ce are honoured and I need shatar for the head enchant

Con's
lose the 4 piece 2% shock crit chance
lose around 10-20 spell dmg

my next project is going to be 3 warlocks :) Ive got 1 at 68 already the plan being a 4 loc + shammy healer group for whiping zergs on bosses in AV :) gogo seed of corruption!

first of all gz on 70! :)

just wanted to say i think they removed the 2x 35 res set bonus when using two items from each set.. before S3 ppl were running around with 3 Merciless, 2 glad for the extra 35 but they changed it so they would overlap and u get the bonus with 1xS1 +1xS3 for instance.. i hope they forgot it with the blue sets.. but with the arena gear at least it is no longer possible

cant totaly test but looks like u can get 2x35 resi if u get the dmg and healing combo's there coming up as different sets with regards to bonuses on my char

oh i see what ya mean :) havent seen many do it with arena gear so that might explain why i haven't seen it recently :)

You can run Durnholde in normal mode all the way to exalted (not making a suggestion! Just saying).

Keepers of Time to honored is remarkably easy. Do the opening quest line, followed by ONE RUN OF Durnholde and Black Morass. The quest chain you complete by doing these two instances in normal mode has an 8000 reputation bonus at the end and you will automatically become honored. I recruited a single tank with my 4x Shamans and went from zero to honored in a little over an hour!

Grats on 70! Honored with all those factions is ridiculously easy. And those blue pieces are surprisingly good for both PvP and PvE. They really give you a massive boost up to heroics, gearwise.

If you want a tip from someone who have multiboxed up 4 warlocks with a restoshaman as healer, I have one for you:

Go for priest as healer instead. I leveled with my 4x locks + shaman until lvl 63. After that I switched to my priest that was lvl 60 allready, and I have not regretted that a single time.

- Priests have much better aoe heals,and a lot of instant heals.

- Priests have fear ward, and can be undead with will of the forsaken.

- Last but not least, priests have mass-dispell. This is really huge when pvp multiboxing. You should also roll undead on all your locks. Sad to say it, but if you're not multiboxing a lot of shamans with tremors, you need every antiaoe-fear you can get to do any good pvp.

these new lvl 70 blue pvp sets are *gasp* actually, the old... blue... lvl 70... pvp sets... with new skins. lol. But ya still much easier to get with rep (that you'll have anyways) and gold. god blizz loves the rep. "Fury of the sunwell! With a new FACTION! YAY!" :thumbdown:
