Hey guys. I want to get back into boxing LOTRO again and am building a new PC around $3-3.5k with the new skylake and ddr4 ram etc.

But I'm getting stuck on what graphics card to buy. What is better for boxing, more VRAM of faster speeds?

Is there a clear choice between these 2 cards:

GTX 980 Ti 6GB $1,060AU
or
MSI Radeon R9 390X 8GB $650AU
or any other recommendations

I would like to box 12 clients.

Cheers for any info.

just my personal opinion, I get the 980 TI, its almost a Titan x with half the memory , The titan has 24 multiprocessor units, the 980ti has 22 and its the same Maxwell footprint as the titan.

a review worth reading

my past experiences with Radeons has not been good so I steer clear of them now, so I am biased.

Same here. I have one in my Mom's gaming machine but all she does is surf the occasional website and multibox WoW. It is also the only machine I've ever owned that suffers somewhat regular "GPU process has stopped responding" shenanigans. /shrug
