We basically viewed Thottbot as an ancient and ugly way of doing a website and focused on making Wowhead crisp and clean. I imagine the company that holds the reigns to Wowhead now did it as an April Fools joke :p

Interesting. I always thought that Thottbot had the clean and crisp approach ala Google. The black background of WoWHead has always been a turnoff to me.

That's probably just as true for all sites relying on user-generated content.

I've always used - and continue to use - Thottbot. The voting system is pretty good for the most part, and you can quickly find the posts that actually have value.

EDIT - Wowhead has 5.2 million users. A site that big has to be doing something right 8|

I never suggested they were doing something wrong :)

I have friends who use Thott. I have friends who use Wowhead. I have friends who refuse to look anything up, ever. I even used to pay for a subscription to Allakhazam.

For simple item / quest lookups, I always use Thottbot. For equipment planning, where I know the filtering capabilities of Wowhead are far better than anything that can be achieved on Thott, I choose wow-loot.

I moved from Thott to wowhead last year and haven't regretted it ;)

I find the AJAX search box a boon, preventing the silly can't find it messages from a typo you get on thott (yes I know you can still screw up on wowhead but it is obvious the object doesn't exist when it stops prompting you)

That was my first too. I learned alot about ghost-walking there. I'm not even sure I made it far outside the gates of Trinsic on that shard;)

But I'm from Europe, so moved to Drachenfels the day it opened and since ping played such a big part in PvP, I never looked back!

8 year resident of Baja. At one time had 20 accounts going at once.

I was way to involved in the BoD system.

Just recently let me 5 castles in Fel drop and watched my 5 oldest accounts each 100+ months expire for the first time. Changed the passwords and emails to something bogus so that I may never return... Was a sad day seeing my childhood lost forever. But sadly the game is no longer what I wished it to be, nor was it going that route in the future.

I decided to quit the game. 2nd largest clan on the server. I also had 20 plus accounts. UO was nerfing everything they could get their hands on at that time. I left Pacific to join Siege perilous. This was my last stop. If this server didnt work then I was thru with it altogether. We had tons of fun because we were 2nd largest on the server and probably one of the most hated/respected clans on the server. Depending on who you were for or against lol. PVP meant you went RED. But my motto...RED IS DEAD. Meaning if you were RED then you got attacked. Being WHITE didnt keep us from killing you in combat. My main was a TAMER MAGE. Which if you know anything about UO, my main attack was my pet. Uo decided that was too much of a good thing and nerfed the pet to a crawl. But thats just part of the story. Many characters(which I had) got nerfed in one form or another. It seemed if you had any skills at all, then IT got NERFED. ARCHER MAGES used to be the CHOICE for PVPers but they got NERFED. lol. I finally got fed up with UO.

I have always said...if UO were to create a game similar in content with WOW then I most likely will leave to play UO. But I doubt that will ever happen. Those developers dont have a clue to how to make a good game better.

I played 6 years on Great Lakes in BC aka Black Company Guild..... Man I wish I could grief in WoW like I was able to in UO

I had over 200 boats on display in my keep from years of pillaging the seas
