So I am new to boxing really...and WoD as well.
Whats the current must effective way to level a team? Whats the latest RAF system like? Any new tricks or preps you make before you level a new team?
Whats the cheapest way to buy 5 accounts and get them leveled through 100?
With the 6.1 heirloom changes, how do you use heirlooms now? Any other new items that you use to help your leveling? Mounts?
Hopefully this isnt too newb-like to get some good conversation started, maybe even something stickied as I am sure new folks would like to understand this and its a common question. :)

It's fine to be new to WoD, but you've been registered on this site for over 6 years and have several posts -- I'm just a little confused with your statement of being "new to boxing."
Whats the current must effective way to level a team?
This is what I tell everyone who asks me this question...
The most effective path is the one that you:
Find most enjoyable
Find most tolerable
Are most comfortable with
If you don't meet at least one of the above bits of criteria, then you're probably going to burn yourself out quicker than you'd like, and burning yourself out would, most likely, be the opposite of what you want.
Whats the latest RAF system like?
I don't exactly know how to answer this, but I don't think the base RaF system (https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/recruit-a-friend) has changed since it was implemented, and it has only increased in levels.
Whats the cheapest way to buy 5 accounts and get them leveled through 100?
Either through the Blizzard store, or through Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Warlords-Draenor-Expansion-Mac/dp/B00GLZQO30/).
With the 6.1 heirloom changes, how do you use heirlooms now?
I imagine people use heirlooms in the exact same manner as before -- To equip onto their characters and gain additional experience without having to continuously upgrade the gear slots which the heirlooms occupy. If someone wasn't using RaF, then the only reason to not use heirlooms would be if you didn't have matching sets because it might offset character experience.

I love that I no longer have to use a central heirloom bank character. I also like (but not love because of the price) that my heirlooms can just be upgraded to 100.

I wont be upgrading mine to 100.. I like to do all of the quests and pick up all of the followers & levelling is pretty fast and not worth the upgrade cost.
I dont LFR anymore, (tried it and all the wiping and bad attitudes for a chance at upgrades I can get better of via the garrison or AH - no thanks), so there's no rush for me. My boxing will always be about doing all the old content for mogs and achievements now.

I got all the heirlooms and upgraded them all to Level 100. Cost me quite a bit, but I'm a collector. Just missing the Alliance insignia, Brawler item, and Dread Pirate ring (no longer obtainable?) . I also don't have the Garrosh weapons. Too bad they don't drop anymore.
While I was doing that, there was at least 100 people all crowding the vendor doing the same thing. So if Blizzard wanted to remove a lot of gold from the economy, I'd say they were quite successful.

I got the garrosh weapons, but they are replaced not long after hitting lvl 100.. wish I hadn't bothered now.. I paid for a few boosts.

Well, new as in I have never done it. My PC sucks... :(
But I also get burned out on dealing with asshats while doing randoms. I am married with kids now so my play time is sporadic and HAS to be flexible. I cant be tied to raid nights/times or the 1hr it takes to get a random sometimes. I LOVE the idea of running my own group to do the things I want to do....but the PC is still an issue but I might have that resolved soon.
I guess I am just curios on the process people use to get the new accounts bought, registered and then started up. Is it really just buy 5 base wows, register them all to one email address, Account A invites B -C -D -E -A through RAF and then run? Guess I figure its more complicated then that but since I have never done it myself...I could be wrong.
Is it better in the long run to just get the $39.99 WOD box or do I need to buy all the expansions up to and including WOD? Or can I start with the $18 base...level to 60 and then buy the expansions from there? $200 in WOD accounts is a hefty starting bill...plus the $75 per month.

The previous expansions have been merged together. What that means is, the base WoW license now includes everything up to and including Mists of Pandaria, and the only expansion you'll have to buy in order to get to max level (currently level 100) is Warlords of Dreanor. You can choose to play until level 90 and at a later date decide to purchase the Warlords of Dreanor expansion if you'd like.
Something to keep in mind is that if you buy a World of Warcraft license through the Blizzard store, you usually get the option of purchasing the Warlords of Dreanor expansion at the same time as a combo for a discounted price. I can't tell you whether that'll be cheaper for you than buying the expansion from Amazon (for example), but for me personally, that combo price has often (but not always) been so competitive that I've not wanted to bother with having a box shipped to me from elsewhere.
One other thing to mention is that the Warlords of Dreanor expansion comes with the perk of a level 90 boost: it allows you to create a level 1 character on those licenses and then within a few mouse clicks, turn that into a level 90 character with some level appropriate gear. It works on higher level characters as well, but a new license wouldn't have any yet at the start, of course. This is something that may help you depending on what you'd like to do in the game as a multiboxer, and how you'd like to level. Some of us multibox our teams through the entire levelling process, others (like myself) use a high level character to boost lowbies on the other licenses to a certain point first before they'll actively get played. Having some high level characters right off the bat may help with that, or could help you with generating some gold early on in order to buy heirlooms for example.
It can be a hefty starting bill indeed, and I think it also depends on how certain you are this is a hobby you'll want to pursue in the long run. After all, you can also simply opt to stick to the base license and stop at level 90 for the time being, perhaps even level multiple teams to get your feet wet, things like that, and then later on decide later whether to get Warlords of Dreanor or not.
In any case, what you mentioned is really just it: create a Battle.net account if you don't have one yet, buy WoW licences for them (and the WoD expansion if you so choose), chain those up through the Recruit-A-Friend program and off you go.

Thanks Multibear!
I have a main account with multiple toons that can boost...do you care/try to have the new mutliboxed accounts separate from the main so there is no "trail" or am I over thinking it? I dont want to see my main account banned or something should I do something stupid on the new accounts. :(

You can box/boost on the same battle.net as it holds up to 8.. or you can raf to a new one.. as long as the account holder name matches on both it's fine.

So to RAF I need to set them up like different people...makes sense. Do you create new gmail accounts or something or just use your own information?

To raf you go onto the first account ingame (on the friends list click the hands symbol) then ref to your own email and use the same name.. you can even use your original email over and over (so long as you're adding more accounts to the same battle.net) which is what I have done. If you want to raf to a 2nd battle.net then you'd need a second email but using the same account holder name.
Just be sure to go to your email and click the referral link or you wont get raf.
I played wow for 8 years and now have a brand new battle.net to start over to keep the game fun.
Are you an EU or US player?

You're quite welcome!
I personally prefer having all my accounts on the same Battle.net account for convenience as well as to satisfy my completionist tendencies. Doing it like that means they share achievements, mounts, battlepets, toys, heirlooms and can exchange other Battle.net Accound Bound items such as reputation tokens. If they'd be on a different Battle.net account, the new accounts would start from scratch and if there's anything (e.g. a rare mount) you'd like to have on all your characters, you'd have to farm it for each of your Battle.net accounts (assuming you'd end up with active WoW licences on multiple, of course).
I don't think you have to be worried about getting banned. World of Warcraft is rather forgiving when it comes to multiboxing, as is Blizzard. I've even had a game master and his manager go out of their way to help me recently after telling them I'm a multiboxer and wanting to achieve something specific with how my accounts are set up. It's simply a matter of sticking to the rules, which you can find elsewhere on this forum as well. In short, multiboxing means actively playing - no matter how efficient some of our macros might get, and no matter how passionately clueless people might claim that you're cheating and they're going to report you and get you banned. Botting will get you banned, multiboxing won't.
So if I were you, I'd simply add the licences to your existing Battle.net account so you can reap the aforementioned benefits. Unless of course, as Andreauk mentioned, you'd like to make a fresh start.

If you like ti instance grind/farm, can you use the que with your full pre-made group to take advantage of the bonuses and instant travel to the instance?

Absolutely. The game sees no difference whatsoever between a normal premade group, and one consisting of the characters of a multiboxer, because effectively there isn't one. As long as you have all the roles covered (tank, healer and three dps for 5-mans for example), and the dungeons are in level range (normal rules apply), you can queue up for them through the dungeon finder just fine. I personally also quite enjoyed doing the 3-man scenarios in Mists of Pandaria like that, where the roles didn't even matter - though unfortunately Warlords of Dreanor doesn't have any of those.
However, since you mentioned bonuses, I'd like to mention that you won't receive the bonus bag of spoils for the tank or healer roles with premade groups, those are only there to encourage queueing for randoms with strangers/asshats. ;)
If you haven't already, you might like to check out MiRai's MMO Multiboxing Gameplay videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWYUvNGoEQI&list=PLtaeemZCwSPwkxriTJCQW09Av4yPDNXiU) on YouTube, which provide a nice introduction to multiboxing and over the course of seven videos, builds up to doing a dungeon with a 5-man team. Even as someone who was already multiboxing WoW when I watched them, I still found nuggets of useful information in there and ideas for alternate ways to go about setting things up.

When accounts do get banned...will the battle net get hit or just the individual account that had the violation typically? Just trying to make sure that my primary account doesnt get clipped for something I do on the others. :/

What is with your obsession about getting banned? Do you see people posting about being banned by Blizzard for multiboxing in this, or any other forum? Blizzard has allowed multiboxing (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/46453-Blues-on-Boxing) since the game was released over 10 years ago, so you being banned for strictly multiboxing just isn't going to happen.
Calm down, start up some additional accounts, don't be a dick to others just because you're multiboxing, and enjoy the playstyle. :)

Once for spamming trade with a char left in the city and some how had a macro spamming trade chat oops
Once for a silly guild name the Germans did not like.
All silly tuff but nothing from running more then one account and Av even done bg's and Ashran, unless you start mutibotting you be fine and if U did want to do the 1st then don't,
as for players that report you I normal tell them av been doing it years link something from 2004 add them to my friends list a week later /w them back. Saying still here not been banned yet. A few times they been banned for calling me every name under the sun. I always right click and report them if there like that.

I'm getting people saying they are reporting me every day - my x5 dks seem to draw more attention than my hunters and druid for some reason.
We have a lot of new players to WoW who don't know it's allowed, although one guy said "his friend" (funny how they always have this friend), was banned for boxing, and when I said no way it must have been botting he told me it depends as it's at the discretion of the gm at the time.

Am I right if I say you can RAF 4, or 6 but not 5?
In my head its like
WoW1 - > RAF: WoWNew1
WoW2 - > RAF: WowNew2
Total: 4
So, i'd either have to pick between 4, or 6 accounts.. Am I right?

You can RAF as many as you like. Am I right in thinking you're referring to a situation where you already have two World of Warcraft licences (WoW1 and WoW2), and would like to add more? If that's the case, you can do it like this:
WoW1 -> Link to a new account (WoW3)
WoW2 -> Link to a new account (WoW4)
WoW3 -> Link to new account (WoW5)
You can simply chain one new RAF account to another. In my example here, WoW1 and WoW2 are existing licences, WoW3, WoW4 and WoW5 are new ones, linked up through the Recruit-A-Friend program.

That's about right, however that leaves you with 6 accounts.
I wondering if it's possible to have 5 accounts, all with bonus exp. So I can do random dungeons without a outsider.

His solution doesn't sound like it leaves you with 6 accounts because he only mentions using 5 accounts total, but this is my preferred way:

Where are you getting six? I've listed WoW1, WoW2, WoW3, WoW4, WoW5. That's five accounts, and when played as a group, all five characters will get the bonus xp. I've made this example because of the way you've worded things in your post, which gave me the impression you already have two existing accounts, WoW1 and WoW2.
The typical way of setting things up is creating a chain: WoW1 is linked to WoW2, WoW2 is linked to WoW3, WoW3 is linked to WoW4, and WoW4 is linked to WoW5. In that case, provided WoW1 is a fresh account (not older than 30 days), you can also link WoW5 back to WoW1 for an extra free 30 days and RAF reward token.
If you still can't figure it out based on the replies MiRai and I have posted (as well as his video), you might want to be clearer about what you currently have in terms of WoW licences.

And there's really no reason to be, unless you're actually intent on doing things that result in bans such as botting or harrassing other players - but those things have nothing to do with multiboxing. So relax, figure out how you'd like to set things up, what you'd like to do, etc., get started and enjoy yourself instead. :D
