hello
how are you?

i m Prega, long time ago was a mboxer in wow.
recently restarted playing 2/3 accounts in wod for fun!

i read in patch 6.1 notes:

We’ve always had this kind of weird limitation where if you’ve never played WoW we let you play as much as you want, albeit in a very restricted Starter Edition account. However, if you have ever had a subscription--but don’t currently have one--we don’t even let you log in. In 6.1 we’ll effectively revert lapsed accounts into a Starter Edition “mode”, with all of the same restrictions (http://wow.gamepedia.com/World_of_Warcraft_Starter_Edition#Limitations). The one difference being that your sub-level 20 characters will be able to join a guild if any of your other characters are still in that guild.

The label for this mode internally is “Veteran”, and those are the strings that were datamined, but it’s unlikely to be a term we use to any great degree externally. It will simply be the default state for accounts that don’t currently have an active subscription.

i m going to perform a little one time event in my current server Nemesis-EU Horde ... activating for one night only whole accounts army i own, ofc all frozen included. total 14 or 16. cant remember hehe.

if you interested we can do a massive meeting in some other server in eu come in for somenthing i hope really fun and potentially unforgetable!

Rise for 1 day - from anywhere you are!

Come on!
cheers and strength is for you all my friends!

prega

I am not sure from your post, are you protesting this change or supporting it?

Anyhow, WoW GMs will just log in and kick everyone protesting, they did it before.

Ok Ok The only use this "has" is if you 3 or 2 boxing or something and run your own guild. You could make a level 20 group stop the xp on the accounts that has a running sub. and run 7 dungeons a week for 250-gold!

It would be nice if they let you play to level 80 for free so i could run 10 boxing for free and run old raids i think this would be really cool! as i loved the wotlk raids.

I just checked out this new feature and it's really nice to be able to log back in and try out my old low level characters. The starter limitations mean that you can't invite people to a group which means that to do some low level multiboxing you need to have one paying account 'main' but it looks like other than that there's plenty to do.

Quite useful for those of us who might or might not have made a few more accounts when they were cheap and forgotten a good 20k worth of looms on the accounts that ran out of game time.

See the link a couple posts above, they don't let you mail or trade with a starter account. The only thing extra you can do is join a guild if you already have a >20 in that guild.

Except you don't have to be able to mail or trade: being able to log on those accounts means the heirlooms on hem will get discovered by the new heirloom system and added to the new heirloom tab, that's what Wubsie is referring to. After that, they can be used on all WoW accounts that are part of that Battle.net account.
