Cross realm invites PVE/PVP

Just curious when invites come from ..... Lets say a PVE server, and 5 players come over from a PvP server how does the PvE server handle it. Meaning, are the PvP players coming over flagged automatically for non PvP, or can they just flag themselves.
I know the PvE players can flag themselves for PvP basically anytime.

It works the same way as if you were to toggle off your PvP flag on a PvE server, and it takes 5 minutes of no PvP in order to turn off.
