So are you saying your new accounts came in and it's time to start the grind again? Or are you talking about a real treadmill (as in excercise machine)?

ran out of wardrobe space then?

My guess would be either
Buying new sizes for your wardrobe (i.e. gaining weight)
Anyone who owns a treadmill has come "out of the closet" (euphemism for homosexuality)

Just some guesses, overall MC wins at confusing people on this one.

Running and working out is something I actually know a lot about. However, without a clear understanding of what the "Treadmill" is ... i am lost too here ...

Personal treadmills have a habit of turning into coat hangers or a place to hang clothes to dry.

Couple things. Getting fit could mean a number of things, I am just going to assume that you mean weight loss and general fitness. For the most part you need to do two things; change of diet and a change of activity level. Bottom line there is no secret to weight loss or fitness, nor a magic pill that you can take, the only formula that really works is as follows ...

Decrease the amount of calories that you consume
Increase your amount of activity

Exercise is great for you on so many levels it is amazing. Even simple walking can get you in shape because walking, jogging, and running is all total body. It works out everything, because it gets everything moving. But really anything is better than doing nothing at all. 10 - 15 minutes of any excerise is going to burn more callories than sitting in front of the computer anyday of the week.

Couple of websites I recommend - Both are really great for diet and exercise.

http://www.runnersworld.com/

As previously stated the only other thing I would do is start setting goals for yourself. That way you have something to work for and something to keep you motivated. I peronsonally recommend setting your sites on a Marathon. It is something that takes some time to train for and defently gives you a since of accomplishment when you finish. And believe it or not is something that almost any motivated person can accomplish. And with all the popularity of Marathons these days thier are tons of people doing them and tons of people to support you.

Couple of Last thing. Treadmills are great for a beginners getting in shape and you can use them despite the weather outside. However, there are some dangers. The treadmill is a machine. It will not stop moving when you stop walking, jogging, etc .... so be careful. Also make sure that before you do any cardio activity you do some total body streching and rotations. The runnersworld website above will help with that. And eventually dont be afraid to get off the treadmill and start walking, jogging, running outside. The treadmill can get boring after awhile and there is nothing that can replace running outside. Sure it is a little bit more difficult but in the end is better for you.

Also believe it or not, you might want to go invest in a new pair of running shoes. Even a good pair of running shoes is generally only good for about 400 miles. So you might want to get a new pair if it has been a couple of years since you have bought a new pair of work out shoes. Dont go to Academy or Foot Locker but go to a real running store with people who are runners and who will look at your feet and look at your walk and stride and get you a shoe that is best designed for you and your foot. A good pair of running shoes can save you a lot of knee injuries and body pain and staying pain free will keep you motiviated to keep working out.

Other than that best of luck and I hope everything works out for you! I have run 2 Marathons and 1 cross state relay this season and plan on doing the Texas Marathon Challenge next season which is 5 marathons bewteen September and May. I love to run and I love to see people get in shape and accomplish thier goals. If you have any further questions send me a mail or just do another post.

Best of Luck

Thanks for your input. One of the other reasons I did buy the treadmill is because I don't particularly like running outside + who wouldn't want to watch TV while they run :P ?

I went for my first 10min jog on it last night. Then I ate me two steaks :D /rawr (lemon peppercorn)

edit: Nah its not for weight loss just general fitness. I do a lot of walking in my job but its nowhere near enough to the time I spend sitting on my ass playing wow ;)
double edit: too many smileys

Kick Ass !!!! Keep up the good work ! Continue to jog and add time and distance slowly and before no time you will be jogging / running 6 -7 miles a day .
