Simple answer is yes, but then it does depend on how powerful your pc is...
I run 5 instances on 1 pc, others run more.

If this is for WoW you can just create new accounts and try out multiboxing up to level 20 for free. You can also get 7 days IsBoxer for free.

I always tell people just try it and find out.
