Ashran - Not what I expected

So hit 10 over the weekend and I got a few games of Ashran in. Simply put - it's not what I expected. I find it a bit boring.

But maybe it's just me I just don't really know what I am supposed to be doing. Generally there is a raid of 40 people chasing a big ass tree and farming some mobs and the alliance that are speckled in their main base. Kill a few quests for bonus objectives in the respective parts of the map. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

Am I simply missing the obvious parts or is that really it?

There is side events that are random that are like mini bg's, (there is 4) The plan is to get to the keep and kill the conquest vendor and you get a nice handful of loot.

So should I just stay running around Ashran and kill things while waiting in BG queues?

I just seem a bit lost at the moment haha.

Ive been playing solo for a couple weeks and honestly Ashran is in a really bad place right now. Typically one side just gets farmed constantly, and bliz hotfixed the honor gains for winning to an extremely low amount (you'll get honor faster by chain losing battlegrounds)

In addition to everything carbs said, 2 hour queue just to get in and be farmed. Not at all what I expected, kind of glad I didn't upgrade all my accounts :/

On my main solo character I haven't even stepped foot into Ashran yet except for hitting the faction hub. I guess I was afraid that I'd be disappointed with how it had turned out.

It's really a shame. I am already in the process if being a bit bored with the content. I really thought the levelling was good. But as stated by others, Ashran as a whole is just not fun. :(

I haven't played around in Ashran yet--I just hit 100 on Sunday on my second set of 15 toons.

I will say that on a lopsided realm like Sargeras (over 99:1 against), the garrison daily areas are amazing for world pvp.

My suggestion to anyone who wants what Ashran originally offered (a huge open-world pvp zone with lots of side-stuff to do and tons of targets) to consider transferring or starting on a lopsided server. Sargeras Horde, Kil'jaeden Alliance etc.

im going to have to go against Kj alliance... i been there for the last two weeks, and its not loopsided, its a complete Cluster@#$% the alliance side is now completely deserted. even now, so close to a launch its deserted. last 2 patches of mop completely decimated the alliance population, all the raiding guilds left or xferred horde... and all the players followed.

used to be hordes outnumbered allies 2:1 on late cata, the with mop it went to 3:1, then by the end it was 4:1 and places like the Timeless island were dead for alliance. we only controlled the wmaster, and that was a week after patch so the activity had died down. the lul between xpacs killed the rest. now you are looking at 7:1 ratio, 10:1 on weekends.

i boxed on Kj the whole MoP xpac and the last patch of Cata, and saw the whole thing happen... stay out of KJ alliance, even hero boxers. they will zerg you everywhere, and things will only get worse once flight is enabled.

I closed my box accounts and tried to continue with my main. Garrison takes like 10 mins, 10 more for pit daily, then a 1 hour queue for dps to have 4 wipes in a hc.. I have done all the quests, spent a day getting one of the reps to max.
The apexis grind is a joke.. I have gotten so bored I have also cancelled my main account too! At first I thought the expac was amazing, but now I know it's just a shitty content patch with an expac price tag :(

As I love boxing I think returning to Rift may be my best option.

Have been having a blast playing Dragon Age Inquisiton on pc & D3 on ps4.

Edit - very happy after 2 tickets and being told I couldn't have a refund due to 72 hours passing, I made a new ticket saying I would do a debit card charge back. They are now refunding all 5 of my accounts for Warlords :)

I've played around in Ashran for a few hours now, and I really enjoyed it. Since you can interact-with-target on any player you're in a group with, you don't need any sort of pet etc to follow. The rewards are really solid and there are a lot of people to kill :)

Someone else posted about it a few weeks ago and I figured I'd give it a try--It works. I think there's a buff you have on while in zone that does it. In any case, it's always on, even while you're dead.

You can cap honor there in about... Ionno, an hour or two? Depends on how good your team-mates are.

yep like i said i find it in beta but i did not use it tell anyone about it as i did not want it hot fixin as the dev's was living in ashran.

I would have done the same.
I've been looking for something to box but not sure there isn't anything I really want to box now.
Rift is the top candidate as well but even it doesn't seem like what I want.

ya so many tools to get a boxer down fast its is past me why they removed follow.


They said it was not working to plan on beta with boxer but every class was far out on numbers back then.

I tried to box again but it's just not worth it imo. I'm just playing solo now.. that way I can play other stuff too. Shame Wildstar can't be boxed as I'm having good fun in that game but not many people around in lower zones :(

I have ultimatley cancelled my other 4 accounts. I am really let down with upgrading the accounts and the way Ashran plays out. Simply put - it's not very fun. My server cluster is about a four hour queue to get into Ashran. Most times only 2/5 would get in right away and the other three would be stuck in Warspear for 45 minutes +.

I just don't feel like there is enough for me to justify boxing at max level. I really really loved the levelling - best it's ever been. but the 100 content just isn't screaming out to me.

I am loosely debating maybe playing 3 Ret Pallies in 3s - or running something in arenas. But it's not looking likely.

As I've said in other threads, if you want pvp, go to the outdoor hotspots: Highmaul zone-in area, daily quest hub area, etc.
