i can say 100% /follow was NOT working the last day of beta!

all i can think of is ashran is not in a instance right now is the world of the street and is only running local copy's on the world server. (in beta if the instance server went down /follow did work!) i Just don't want players to go out there get the xpac (for ashran) now for this for it to be working as it was on beta.

At the end of the day we still don't know how /follow is removed but it did always work in the citys next to ashran but as soon as you jumped to the instance server (ip changes) /follow did the same as bg's.


Ashran live steam for 1h a few weeks ago and Holinka said there is not banned items in ashran we think it be cool to have a unfair pvp zone without rules and i was there and he saw me and said "that's interesting" when he saw me standing at the boss. but it was about over when he saw me.

all i can say is if its back or if its a bug with how the servers are right now and the zone is not setup right.

This can be removed!

Am lead to lead to believe it does not, saying that 50% are saying it does 50% are saying its not.

i think some players believe the citys behind ashran are infact ashran ( the level 91 comments) where follow has always worked the combat part is where /follow should not work but saying that there is some that says it does. (but like i said i goes down to if ashran is in a instance server or not, Some realms seem that ashran is running a local copy on the world server.

It works where the vendors are because it's not pvp there.. prob doesn't in the actual pvp area though..

the bit at the front (where fightmaster is) is not ashran its not even called ashran on the maps. its the citys.

Ya i hear this as well saying someone players there that made the hole thing kick on of beta!

like i said it works on some servers and not on others

(maybe somone can test going crz on a server with /follow working if it does work on thers)

av said why its working. some servers it works on and some does not, Ff it works on server x then its a bug more then likely and will get fixed.

That does not work in bg's its from a buff u get in ashran called lootble. i did know about this in beta but did not tell anyone as i did not want it be hotfixed before live.

Re-verified just now that /follow works at Ashran, this was a US PVE server, with a group of level 92s. Previous group that also worked was a mixed group of 99s and 100s on a US RP-PVE server.

Looks like you are in the town, which follow has worked in throughout the beta. We are concerned about the pvp battle ground in which you can not join until you are lvl 100.

I got got word that it does not work on tich us.

re-verified just now that /follow works at ashran, this was a us pve server, with a group of level 92s. Previous group that also worked was a mixed group of 99s and 100s on a us rp-pve server.

Everyone seems really surprised at this its been like it since beta i posted when it got removed even if it did work it was not going to change we even got a replay from the pvp dev saying that

"auto /follow will be removed in ashran it did not take long on beta to see it was going to be a problem"

A lot of posts from this topic are players thinking it work in the zone next to ashran "the city's".

We use toys/pet/mounts or other things to get round follow but that does not mean that we not going to get banned/items hotfixed if the devs really does not want boxing there.

as of now you can interact with players.

2nd they moved the pvp vendors and the honor vendors to the main city as well so nolonger we can use well we need to get gear from there.

Ill be damned, you're right in the ashran active zone, /follow did not work with 100s, I tested on both US-PVE and US-RP-PVE realms but both did not work. The devs are still butthurt about the billion-boxer during beta?

I joined queue at the same time, but no matter what I do 5 guys never get a queue pop - waited an hour (wait on the first 5 was 10 minutes).
I tried restarting clients and stuff, but nothing seemed to allow me to get more than 5. It wasn't always the same 5 in at once either.

I am not grouped at all.

Is there possibly a limit on number of members from the same guild? same IP? something like that.

I have done this probably 5 times since WOD launched without issue.

I just don't understand why if you join at the same time they wouldn't get a queue in order. It doesn't seem that it goes in order. I noticed others kept zoning in after me.

fromwhat am reading on the forums this is happening all over forums to loads of players, with que pop up's never happening.

If they did a IP ban then anyone at uni/shared internet would be getting this prob and unfair for a few boxers?? when blizzard has tryed to keep 90% mutiboxers out be removing /follow. seems a bit far for like 10 boxers or however many are going there.

it seems a lot of servers been joined to ashran and crz has been added so a lot of pemade groups have started for it. even though the hole group can not join at the same time they be put in a que and then shard out with the others in the que


to be fair i think the zone is going to much like WG/TOl with silly ques and not getting in unless your on a 50/50 server that is not going to happen.


even though since beta there is a afk system there now.
But there is a lot of bots in this zone its unreal. as the honor is so much better then bg's

8chars farmed ashran alot now. Got my own AH with the universal modules. Just farm mobs arround
my movement = Spectral swift tiger mount +F1 (target self) + IWT and they follow me like follow. Only have to repeat IWTpussint alot to make sure you dont lose them.
And if you see a group comming use the shield of thunder scroll. This will do Aoe dmg on them as they wanna zerg ya. 50k dmg to each target by each buff x your multibox= REKT

It was "fixed" in patch 6.1.

For whatever reason they temporarily limited the instance size in Ashram to 15. Maybe once they change instance size back to 150+ I will be able to try it. Fingers crossed they haven't fixed it yet.

They fixed the IWT on the master. I wouldn't bother with the brew pup at all unless you want you guys running around like crazy, getting stuck on things, and getting dismounted due to interacting with the brew pup dismounting you.

They fixed it on ptr 1st patch, soultrader works there. You can olny go in ashran now with 5 players and not as a raid to stop the lfg big ally/horde groups they did the same in tol and wg. But they was on the same server so did not matter.

How do you queue for Ashran as a group? I tried to figure it out, but I couldn't. A Google search has some suggestions for using the "premade" group tool, but when you already have 5 in the group, you can't use it. If I disband and create a "premade" group in the tool, then add people, the "premade" group disappears.

The only thing I can think of is maybe I need to queue for Ashran individually, then pray they all end up in the same instance.

Things have changed a bit in the last couple months.

If you are horde, with the instant-queue just leave and re-enter over and over until you are all in the same instance.

If you are alliance, just wait awhile and they might change things again.

Tried this today and after an hour in the queue, the leader gets in, but none of the other toons got an invite.

I think you might benefit from a clearer description, as the one you quoted leaves room for interpretation:


Enter Ashran with your party leader, but don't have the others follow, leave them behind
Receive and confirm an invite on the party leader, now you can ride back to the others
Confirm your party leader is indeed queued up now
Enter Ashran with your other party members
Receive and confirm their invites, ride back to the party leader
Accept the invites when they pop (they might not all pop at the same time, but should be fairly close together)


That should do the trick, it always has for me. The thing is, in order for other party members to be able to join the same instance of Ashran as the party leader, the party leader has to be queued up already, or else they'll all be treated as separate invites and where they end up is pretty much a gamble. This works for me as well.

But I do see possible problems, such as during busy times if there is not enough room in any available instance.

I though someone in this thread said it was re-enabled, but maybe they turned it off again?

The problem with keeping old threads like this alive for so long is that the original post can easily give incorrect information later on, and most people don't bother to read much after that. I've gone ahead and edited the original post so that we can avoid this issue in the future.

I'm also going to lock this thread because it's 9 months old and there's nothing left to discuss about /follow in Ashran—it doesn't work. So, rather than continue to bump it with mostly irrelevant information, I'm just going to lock it. If anyone has any further questions about Ashran, like how to join the battle or maneuver their characters around in the instanced battle, then please open a new thread.
