I suppose we multibox for a variety of reasons.
Gear is not the main reason for me, but I definitely enjoy getting all the loot and handing it out to my team as I see fit and seeing my team get powerful and kick ass as I gain better control and tweak the setup and earn the gear.
Its just not satisfying upgrading an i377 green to an i450 blue and gaining 2 armour, +2str and +3stam etc... it hardly makes a difference. I had exactly this upgrade yesterday and it increased my judgement dmg by about 8, less than half a percent and not even sure it improved mitigation by anything. You can get a pot that gives 260 armour ffs.
and in some cases ive had blues i410 to i435 with identical stats !
Its definitely reduced the fun factor for me.
Another huge disappointment for me is no new class to play with..
Im painfully undecided about WoD.

No new class, no new race was definitely a disappointment. I haven't actually bought WOD, I feel like I should do that this week or else I'm missing out on the boosted toon.

I feel the same way about gear this expansion. We are used to seeing BIG numbers and just as big increases as we upgrade. WoD will not feel as epic in that way as it has for years now. BUT for me.. this Garrison thing is the most interesting new feature that I am looking forward to. Im just curious how it will effect the economy. I mean you can level so fast( according to what people are saying ), it will not be to difficult for players to have enough alt garrisons to have every trade available to them. Even though you cant make "everything" with the crafting buildings..you can make "most". So how is that going to effect the buying and selling of trade goods? We will have to wait and see i guess.

I've never really understood the attraction to really long numbers as a minigame. I remember being on cloud 9 for a week straight when I won a roll for a +3mp5 piece of armor on my first toon. I was recently back in EQ2 and the bloat there is just absurd, I was upgrading stats 100 at a time between expansion gates. At that point, nothing means anything - it's like this stat/my damage matters so little that I need extreme amounts to have any impact. I don't think that's fun, I think it's a cluttered mindgame, lol. I don't even run Recount, I prefer to gauge my uberness on how much more smoothly I handle a fight. I'm happy enough with DBM telling me I have a new record.
That said, nothing about the expansion is exciting for me and I don't think I'll be picking it up this time around. It's just not clicking with me. Maybe after a few solid content patches, but what they're offering right now just doesn't feel very interesting to me.

I don't think there is a time limit, you just get the boost when you buy the expac.

I hated it too.. but I'm getting used to it. .. and I see it as a fresh much needed challenge from having it too easy.
I have had to go with the x3 Hunters Disc Priest and Guardian druid, because for me I think that's the only way I will have a hope in hell of clearing anything, with the pets offtanking it helps with damage reduction... this will most likely be my only team as I have solo toons also.
I understand the limitations - such as new dungeon mechanics that will make it impossible.. but I will still have fun with what I can.. when it stops being fun to box then I will quit.

don't get me wrong, im not bothered about big numbers, but as it stands now the gear improves so slowly that it takes away the sense of progression when earning gear from completing a higher level / harder dungeon. For example, As has been discussed on the wow forums, a lot of BC slotted gear is better than almost all the levelling wotlk gear due to gems boosting stats far more than higher ilevels. And some items have zero improved stats despite being 20-30 ilevels higher.

I still have blue 370ish heroic items from MoP on my druids because until they upgrade to 496+ epics, that gear is actually BETTER than the current heroic gear. I'm just wondering how much delta there's gonna be on 100 gear vs 90 gear.

I recognise your name and avatar from the rift forums, am I right?
Rift was my pvp game since beta, so much potential so sadly neglected and I gave up about a year ago, as did many others. shame.
I would LOVE the rift ability system in wow for boxing! endless hours of tinkering!! Wow is so very limited in comparison.
EDIT: Ive just realised theres a whole other forum section and even a RIFT section! feel stoopid now :)
Ive got this section on my favourites, tunnel vision.
