Blacksmithing in WOD

Asking this generic WoW question here since this community is so much better than other WoW ones :P This doesn't really apply to multi boxing though.

My pally main is JC+BS since that was the best min max option back in the day.

Now I am considering dropping BS for mining to help the leveling of JC early in the expansion - I might single box level to jump on the raid train.

Question is: Is there any BOP perks to BS left in the game that I would loose? I have a few rareish plans, but nothing that's to big of a deal on him.

Since the perks were removed no reason for any specific toon to have any specific profession. Leave your main as it is and just make sure one of your toons has mining.

I feel its best that way because they took the perks away, just as easily they can bring them back.
