I'm trying out 4x DHs. My gear sucks so far, just started the GRifts - only up to 19 so far, but I'm still able to do them fine. I have a few pieces of marauder gear across all my guys. DPS is maybe around 500k each.
Is everyone playing 4x DHs or mixing another class in? The DH seems pretty fun actually, I like the sentries. Here is my setup.
Someone said in one of the posts that a monk was a must have?

I am looking into this as well kicksome, intrigued about boxing in Diablo 3. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread. :)

Monks are nice if they are independent. They group up monsters nicely and add a lot of group benefits. This works if you can stand toe to toe with them, but probably wouldn't mix well with DH's if boxed. Maybe if you managed the dual-mouse thing. I remember posts with people having success with 4x monks, 4x crusaders, and 4x Wizards. For some reason Devile backed away from the previous Monk + 3x Crusaders, but I'm not sure why. I also don't think 4x monks is in the same category as the others.
The flavor of the moment is definitely 4x DHs. I'm using them, and was hovering around GR30 before I got sidetracked by real life. From reading posts by Dev, they eventually hit a wall (in terms of GR Level), and he was experimenting with 4x Stampede Crusaders and 4x Firebird Wizards to get beyond that.

I can do 4DH up to about GR32 with above average gear (full M5+RORG, 4 x TnT, mix of bows and 2h xbows). Is it fun, but I needed a change.
I am now doing 4 x crusaders using stampede, and honestly I think a LOT more fun. They can take much more abuse than squishy DH can, at least up to about GR 25 where I am currently at as I finish gearing. Plus, being able to speed around everywhere makes things less boring during a long play session.

Maybe I'll break out the crusaders again. Last I left them, they had the full crusader set items where using the FotF build.

What did you use while gearing up to stampede?

It seems like the crusader Fate of the Fell build has vanished. I guess it's not that great anymore?

It's good but the bar is no longer T6, which is does great at - players want to get to the highest grift possible or at least 35+ and when you hit that level there is only 1 option for builds from each class. (some might have two but technically one excels the best)
Crusader - Stampede
DH - T6 turrets
Wizard - Fire set.. forgetting the name.
Monk - Sunwoko
Barb - Raekor's
WD - pets sort of.. or their dot build but it just doesn't scale as good as the others.
Currently the most powerful and also the easiest to play is definitely the demon hunters.
I got my wizards to be comparable but in order to really maximize DPS there is just somehow too much stuff on the screen and I get bandwidth lag, my PC can handle it but the game isn't able to and everything stops moving and jitters.

I just did GR 31 (I did the time trial and it put me at 31) with my 4x crusaders with the FotF build. Just need one more of the steed shields to drop, and continue to level up my gems to get the secondary benefits. Then I'll take a look at the Stampede build. I tried it out, but kept running out of wrath.

Stampede is a bit gear dependent. You need perma uptime Akkhans from the 6 piece or close to it, while also keeping up the 50% wrath reduce law.

Ahh, thanks for the info, I did try it out a bit and ran out of wrath way too quick. But I didn't do the 50% wrath reduction law.
I have the 6 piece on all my guys, and pretty close to perm uptime on Akkhans. So I can't wait to check this out with the new info. I don't have that kick ass hammer though, that is like 50% damage to elites - never seen one drop.

Wow - that crusader stampeded build is pretty slick.
I noticed that the law that reduces wrath cost by 50%, seems to stack party wide! i.e. I cast it on 1 guy, it works on all of them. That's pretty crazy. So I could have 2 of the guys doing that law round robin for "almost" per uptime, and 2 of the guys doing some other laws that heal me. I'm not 100% positive, but it sure seemed to when I checked it a few times.
With all 4 doing the 50% wrath reduction law, I had no healing at all, and was doing great damage, but no healing at all.

Laws are party wide. Boxers usually conspire to keep 2 different laws up most of the time. With three round Robin you can keep 1 up all the time without any cdr

Yup! get two different ones going, it's very nice synergy.
With enough CDR you "might" be able to get 4 different ones going, although not up 100% with long arm of the law it would be up most of the time.

shouldnt wd be one of the easiest, if not the easiest to box since v2.1 patch? Now that the pets are beef up, they are so tough.. With Zunimassa set, the pet army's going to cover half the screen..
I'm boxing just 2 and it's getting me crazy trying to sync them already.. Given up half the time.. but i still think wd is the easiest to box.. with the pets distracting the mobs, wd can just stand at the back and spam skills..

I haven't looked into the 2.1.2 ptr changes too much yet but the pets just didn't scale well at all for greater rifts. Initially there was a gem that had it so your pets were immune to damage but they changed it to 25% less damage taken.
The problem is that once you hit I think it's maybe Grift 33 ish, the pets would die in 1 hit. Go up against something like The Butcher and his aoe move completely wipes out your entire army. DPS is now extremely low and you got nothing to tank that angry beast.
I do think it's a very easy setup when the pets stay alive, but with 4 WD's on the screen it gets a bit laggy on the server side.

gotta agree with you on the last part ~ lol.. im just boxing 2 atm.. dont really wanna go to 3 or 4 tho i believe it will be fun.. the syncing just gets me crazy every now and then, especially fighting elites.. i found wd to be good for boxing since pet can tank and you can hide at one corner and spam dps.. not sure about GR33 tho.. the max i went to now is GR11 only.. i start to see pet dying.. maybe there's a better way or a mix of classes could help..
trying 2 dh now.. sentry seems cool and lesser out of sync issue, but die pretty easily.. i'm thinking of dh and wd.. not sure if it can work out..
tried 2 barb, but i gotta say.. i dont like melee.. tried 2 wiz.. not too bad.. but too bad they die pretty easily as well..

4 isn't too different from 2.
The melee classes will have a harder time staying in sync, but it's just practice makes perfect. DH and WD probably have the easiest time staying together. You'll find walls and corners to be awesome to just keep syncing back up on.

4x DH = Best for T6, GR35- and Ubers
4x Wizard = Best for GR35+
4x Crusaders = Best for T6 Bounties and Key farming. For GR are decente but certain maps and waller packs will drive u crazy.
Thats about it. 4x WDs/Barbs/Monks suck compared to other classes. WDs pets AI is plain stupid so dont even bother. The only barb top build doesn't work that well with multibox. And monks ... well .... they are the worst class, so nothing new there until 2.1.2 where I'm really looking forward to try a Tempest Rush build.
PS: I'll be active again once 2.1.2 is released :)

Same I think I'll be active then as well. There is such a large time between patches, seems to just make everything lull when you know all the gear you have is outdated.

I'm really looking forward to try again my 4x Tempest Rush Monks. Damage seems to be very good, toughness too and could be a great option for speed farming GR. There's a lot to test to find the best combo which is something I really enjoy doing. Also, I wanna try to current "best" mixed combo 2x DH + 1 Crusader + 1 WD and see if I can pull it off. Also work on my DHs and see how far I can go in GR with the new changes.
