The other thread seems to deal with style. I thought this would contain examples.

I use a combined step/priority type system. I call it stepority (hahah, jk)

I am getting 100k dps on the 85 target dummy in SW. 545 gs.

[Elemental Shaman]

Step 1: 0,1,9
Step 2: 1,2,4
Step 3: 1,3,4

0: my assist macros
/stopmacro [harm,nodead,exists]
/tar [@focus,exists,nodead] [@Riámus,exists,nodead] [@Riáth,exists,nodead]
/assist

1: "get the flame shock up now!"
/stopmacro [channeling]
/castsequence reset=target flame shock, null

2: lazy macro (not yet optimized for earthshock)
/stopmacro [channeling]
/castsequence reset=5 Searing Totem, flame shock, unleash flame, earth shock, unleash flame, flame shock, unleash flame, earth shock

Thanks for getting this started Mr Beak. This will be a great way for us to try out different macro sets, tweak them, and figure out what performs best. So I'll play:

A note on the Destro single target macros: I tried a number of different macros with delays for a period of building Burning Embers then a period of casting Dark Soul and Chaos Bolts, as I would do if playing one solo. I got the timing to work pretty well, but it was very inconsistent DPS and averaged a bit lower than the 4 macro scheme above. Therefore, I fell back to just using these more straightforward macros that simply use Dark Soul and Chaos Bolts when available.

Disc Priest

Step 1: 1
Step 2: 2
Step 3: 3
Step 4: 4

1:

/stopmacro [channeling][mod:shift]

2: This macro is only used selectively. I drop it out if I am able to focus a bit more on manually healing, but keep it in when learning a fight or being lazy

/stopmacro [channeling]
/targetparty
/cast Power Word: Shield

3:

/stopmacro [channeling][mod:shift]

Lol, some people like the safety blanket!

There is a practical reason to macro single spells: it keeps you from having to coordinate with the action bar. Especially in the pro setup, this can be useful when you have multiple characters using the same class/spec specific key map.

At this point, almost every single action I have is using a named macro, regardless of complexity.

just keep an eye out on http://wowlazymacros.com/forums macros are being updated often and frequent for new patch now.

Alot seem to be swap bar style macros.

Is it just me or has the complexity required for 6.X significantly decreased?

Can you elaborate?

Zzyzxx71
10-17-2014, 06:00 PM
I just setup a mixed team just prior to 6.0.2, so far the steps outlined are less verbose. I know a lot of abilities were removed/"compacted" into others, so I suppose it's to be expected.

Yeah i was so disappointed when i logged into my lowbie frost mage. Arcane explosion and evocation are now arcane only spells.

My macros all seem to work (well enough to not require rewriting) so far, but I haven't messed with any complex classes.

My multi-step ISBoxer macros for Monks and Hunters (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47938-The-MoP-Macro-Library?p=392577&viewfull=1#post392577) are still functional after the patch. I didn't have to change anything.

[edit] And the hunter macros need updating. I changed those before 6.0 to make a few things more responsive.

luxlunae
10-17-2014, 10:13 PM
Yeah I think mine will need updating, but they are so split out that having a few that do nothing isn't a problem. It will be a problem with more rotational classes I'm sure.

Do you guys think it would be best to keep this thread for posting macros/software set ups for dps/healing? i think it would make it easier for people to find what they might be looking for..and maybe move "discussion" of macros to a thread like the one i started? >> http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/51578-WoD-6-0-Macro-Discussion

After seeing what's what {I was waiting to see if there were any really major changes}, I'd figured a simple name change on the MoP Macros (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47938-The-MoP-Macro-Library) thread title and reusing it for WoD with the same setup as before - People post threads about their setups and can have the macros sorted there with a link to the original thread. I haven't done it yet because the actual expansion isn't live so we don't have the new level cap or new abilities for 100.

My only concern was about archiving the old macros, but there's not exactly a whole lot of macros that were even submitted last expansion. I'll probably just shunt them off to a different thread.

So, unless there's some sort of objection, once WoD goes live and we've got all our new abilities, I'll do some major renovations in there and archive the MoP macros so we can use it for WoD.

Thanks for starting this thread, guys.

With the new patch I'm taking the time to completely revamp my setup. I've previously been using a simple 1 button setup that broadcast steps Numberpad 1-9 in sequence with spells or macros put in place on the WoW side. It worked well with some classes, not so much with others.

I'm looking at what Fishbeak and Mercurio are posting and I'm not sure if I'm understanding the use correctly. I'm going to explain this as I think I understand it in ISBoxer terms and use the first post's Elemental Shaman as an example.

***

Single button spamable dps keymap that has 3 steps.

Step 1: Keymap that also has 3 steps.
Step 2: Keymap that also has 3 steps.
Step 3: Keymap that also has 3 steps.

***

Is that pretty much what you've got going there?

Second, do you guys program the macros into ISBoxer (or equivalent), or are they all in WoW? If specifically one or the other, is there a reason for it that makes or breaks it?

Once I've figured out what I'm doing I'll post some of my stuff here. I do like the idea of a macro library like we had for MoP once we hit 100, though.

I do not understand these macros and they are being added/used. Sort of looks like a swap bar, but isn't. SO unsure how/where your adding them or anything much about them at all :/

this MM Hunter one seems okay, just make sure you use the right talents, came from lazy macro, and my hunter was doing around 150k, but its 581 ilvl
And also class balancements are still going on as well.

talents are 1,3,3,3,2,1

combat rogue seems to be doing around 150-158k ilvl 583 tho, and using this which i have not even checked how it functions yet

I do not understand these macros and they are being added/used. Sort of looks like a swap bar, but isn't. SO unsure how/where your adding them or anything much about them at all :/

They are a combination of the Step (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47938-The-MoP-Macro-Library?p=367932&viewfull=1#post367932) system and the Priority (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47938-The-MoP-Macro-Library?p=367931&viewfull=1#post367931) system. He has 4 macros built out to use the priority but rather than just sending all of the macros all the time with every keypress, he added steps so what is sent varies press by press.

So, the first time he uses the keymap, a priority of macro 1, 2 and 4 are sent. Macro 3 is not.
Second time, it uses a new step that sends the priority of 1, 2, 4 and 3.
Third time, sends 1, 2 and 4 again, then back to step 1.

Combining steps with priority has worked well for me in the past. At the very least, it's useful for popping procs and the like to the top of the priority every now and then or givng something a chance to cast without it constantly taking up GCDs/recasting {debuffs, short cooldowns, etc}. I've found it a great way to smooth out awkward setups and create a solid, reliable spam key.

I'm not getting how this works either.
Is it steps within steps or macros within steps?

Like
Step 1 -
fire off macros 1 2 3
step 2 fire off macro 2 4 6

If so, how would the game know which macros to fire off on any given step?

It's Macros within Steps. Like I said upthread (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/51592-WoD-6-0-2-Macro-Library?p=393312&viewfull=1#post393312), the setup you're referring to is a combination of steps and priority. Each step is a short collection of macros. This doesn't change how the game processes the macros, it simply changes the macros that are sent.

Priority (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47938-The-MoP-Macro-Library?p=367931#post367931)

Step (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47938-The-MoP-Macro-Library?p=367932#post367932)

How does the game know...? (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47866-Mosg2-manifesto-help-with-DK-Macros?p=368416&viewfull=1#post368416) and some more from that thread (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/47866-Mosg2-manifesto-help-with-DK-Macros?p=367303&viewfull=1#post367303).

No objection from me on pruning / moving this thread. I don't pretend to be an organizer so as long as I can keep posting my ideas on rotations we have a deal.

As for questions on what my / Merc's marcos are ... as indicated by others we use a STEP based sytem with a twist. The twist being that each step is essentially a priority series. Why? It allows me to prioritize the "priorities" so to speak. If I simply had macros 1->6 in a single step and mashed them all the game only ever takes 1. I found that under this system proc type dps spells tended to "wait" to long to be cast. This approach seems to reduce the wait time for those critical spells.

I will add my other macros shortly so please feel free to review / question them.

My druids are almost 88. As soon as they hit 90, I'll update my setup in here and port over my hunters, monks and paladins as well. They aren't perfect but they're a great starting point.

[edit] Balance Druid (PVE) (ISBoxer Pro w/nested steps):

This generates about 32-38k DPS at 90 on the level 85 target dummies in Orgrimmar. They are in almost full 496ish Timeless Isle gear withOUT the weapon and not using cooldowns. This seems to do a pretty good job of hitting Starsurge just at or just prior to maxing out at each end of the cycle, and also hits moonfire/sunfire during their empowerment.

The main caveat is that if your cycle is already out of alignment, it will stay out of alignment. Use Astral Communion to get things back in sync as needed. If it isn't obvious, as long as you keep pressing buttons, it will keep rotating between lunar and solar spells every 20 seconds by the clock, not by the number of keypresses or number of spells in the rotation.

All mapped keys are trigger when pressed OR released.

BM Hunter (PVE) - ISBoxer Pro multi-step Kitchen Sink v6.0.3

Roughly equivalent in DPS to the other setups I've tested
~100% uptime on pet heals and misdirect
Automagically summons/rezzes your pet without having to press another key(s)
Does not include /petattack because there are times I want a pet to stay on its current target
Maintains focus well enough that you aren't sitting at 100% all the time and aren't causing a lot of "not enough focus" stalls in the rotation. Mine sits between 45 and 110 focus during sustained combat. Leaves enough focus for cooldown-ish stuff to still be usable.

Generates about 45-52k DPS at 90 on the level 85 target dummies in Orgrimmar. I'm in full Timeless Isle 496 gear including weapon, with about half of it upgraded to level 4 (~512 ilvl) and a couple of pieces of 525ish celestial gear. No longer cooldowns involved.

Talents/Glyphs: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/tool/talent-calculator#Yaa!222110.!fgSijQ

(There's some MM hunter stuff mixed in here. It seems to work OK but I don't like the results as much as I do BM. I'll leave it there in case someone wants to use it as a base.)

Does anyone have a macro/priority set for shadow priests? I was trying the following from wowlazymacros today and am severely disappointed in the different in DPS between an equivalently geared ShadowPriest and a Mage or Warlock

http://wowlazymacros.com/forums/topic/ptr-multi-actionbar-shadow-priest-6-0/

http://wowlazymacros.com/forums/topic/shadow-6-0-swap-bar-modified-macro/

All suggestions appreciated.

5-Monks ISBoxer multi-step

Note: I play all 5 as Brewmaster when questing and switch to BM+MW+WW+WW+WW for certain instances.

It's worth mentioning that I haven't cleaned these up for instances at 90 as they stopped at 89 due to boredom and general squishiness. :p

I am using these macros on my feral druids. I don't know how optimal they are, or how to incorporate a Step Based system, but for the time being they are working for my 80-something druids.

You MUST have an addon to expand the size of your macros. I am using Macro ToolKit (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/macro-toolkit), which lets me use up to 1024 characters in my macros instead of the limited 255.

Single Target:

#showtooltip Shred
/cast [nostance:2] Cat Form(Shapeshift)
/cast [nostealth] Prowl
/cast [stealth] Rake
/castsequence Rake,Shred,Shred,Ferocious Bite,Shred,Shred,Rake,Savage Roar,Shred,Shred,Shred,Ferocious Bite,Shred
/cast Wild Charge
/cast [combat]Tiger’s Fury
/cast [combat] Berserk
/cast [combat] Survival Instincts
/cast [combat] Berserking
/castsequence reset=target Faerie Fire, null
/startattack

Multiple Target:

#showtooltip Swipe
/cast [nostance:2] Cat Form(Shapeshift)
/cast [nostealth] Prowl
/cast [stealth] Rake
/castsequence Rake,Swipe,Swipe,Ferocious Bite,Swipe,Swipe,Rake,Savage Roar,Swipe,Swipe,Swipe,Ferocious Bite,Swipe
/cast Wild Charge
/cast [combat]Tiger’s Fury
/cast [combat] Berserk
/cast [combat] Survival Instincts
/cast [combat] Berserking
/castsequence reset=target Faerie Fire, null
/startattack

Mindless Healing:

#showtooltip
/console autounshift 0
/cast Healing Touch
/console autounshift 1
This is amazing for casting Healing Touch only during Predatory Swiftness. It will not take you out of form, ever. :D
If you have any suggestions at improving this, I am all ears. :)

Hello,

Anyone using Gnome Sequencer ? I came across it on the lazy macroes forums and its amazing. its easy to use, and the dps is amazing, so far on my Hunter that is now MM. No headaches with using the macro, 1 for single target, other for aoe.

Stuff like:

Probably a good idea if you have the time. There are probably lots of readers who do not know how to set a multi-step up.

I like the setup you have here and it largely made sense as I tried to create it in ISBoxer but I had a couple of questions if you don't mind.

1. You mention you bounce specs back and forth but your macros are based on action target groups. Is there some way those change based on spec? Or do you actually push out a change and reload when you want to switch between them?

2. Most of your mapped keys/macros made sense. The only thing I was struggling with was your DPS mapped key pointing to self. Are you just adding that to some other mapped key that's broadcasting? I wasn't understanding how DPS spam would make it to the rest of the team the way that one is setup.

3. Your DPS key advanced settings say reset after 15 secs, but doesn't say after first keypress or what setting you are choosing there?

Thanks! Looking forward to trying this out on my monk team!

Ok ..yeah replying to my own reply with another quick question. Just went to export and being a newbie at using ISBoxer to actually create WoW macros, I got the pop up that says I need to set key combos for the macros. Perhaps this was related to my question #2. Do I just pick some unused key combo for each of the macros?

Thanks again!

Refer to my ISBoxer profile: http://www.l00py.net/isboxer_ugh_24nov2014.txt In there, you'll find in the keymaps for each class two mapped keys: PrimaryATGs and SecondaryATGs. That moves characters in and out of ATGs as needed and remaps the virtual combat keymap references as well.

2. Most of your mapped keys/macros made sense. The only thing I was struggling with was your DPS mapped key pointing to self. Are you just adding that to some other mapped key that's broadcasting? I wasn't understanding how DPS spam would make it to the rest of the team the way that one is setup. I use the ISBoxer Pro system. As an example of what it does for, say, my main DPS spam key:

My DPS key "v" is bound to the "DPS Rotation" mapped key in "Combat Hotkeys" keymap.
That key does "Assist Me" -> self in the Non-combat keymap, and then calls "DPS Rotation" mapped key in the Virtual Combat keymap -> all.
Then the Virtual Combat keymap's "DPS Rotation" key calls "DPS Rotation" in the keymap MonkTank -> self. The Virtual Combat keymap "reference" is initially defined in each character's "Virtual Mapped Keys" tab and can be switched around as needed to point to a different keymap as needed for different specs or testing. Again, see the ATG switching keys noted above for examples.

3. Your DPS key advanced settings say reset after 15 secs, but doesn't say after first keypress or what setting you are choosing there? See my linked profile above. The DPS key spams 4 steps to cover all the different things without it getting hung up in a macro. It also spams my RingOfPeace and ChiWave mapped keys. RingOfPeace fires on the next character once every 8 seconds and resets after 45 seconds (the cooldown of the spell); this ensures it is up as often as possible on the target's target to keep it silenced/disarmed as much as possible. ChiWave fires on the next character every 3 seconds ensuring that it's up as often as possible and doesn't waste itself on a mob that dies immediately as it would if you just fired it on all 5 monks at once.

Just decided to get back into the game here. Been a long time though, can we still use calls to other action buttons in a macro, rather than a step macro if I don't have ISboxer currently?

I know I did that a lot with MOP, but haven't followed anything about wow for a while.

Thanks all.

And yeah, STO is horrible right now, which is why I'm back again.

Yep, that still works, and typing /framestack will allow you to hover over a button to see its name so you get the macro right. ;)

There's something I'm missing here. I don't quite get what you mean by the steps and the numbers since the way I keep thinking it works, means what is listed won't work.

By step, I'm assuming you mean a step in an isboxer mapped key. Is this wrong?
And aren't there items in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 9 that invoke a global cool down?

[Elemental Shaman]

Step 1: 0,1,9
Step 2: 1,2,4
Step 3: 1,3,4

0 and 1 are both items that don't trigger a GCD
But 2, 3, 4, and 9 all involve GCD's

So how does it work having more than 1 in a step?

If you tied that set of steps to a key and spammed that key what happens?
Any interp I try to make results in a contradiction, so I'm confused

0 1 1 1 2 3 9 4 4?

0 1 (9 never gets run?) 1 2 (3 never gets run?)

Or is each step its own key?
Or...
sorry not sure what else

Im trying to cast Tigereye Brew then Fists of Fury then force the game to null itself out for another 20 second then press nothing for 4 seconds to reset itself. It works great on the first Cycle but on the second cycle it casts Tigereye Brew two or three times before it casts Fists of Fury.

Fists of Fury is on 25 second cooldown

DPS Map Key
Reset to step 1 after 15 seconds
Execute when pressed OR released
|--> Step 1
|--> Do mapped key "Fists of Fury" in keymap "WW Timing" (self)
|--> Step 2
|--> Do mapped key "Blackout Kick" in keymap "WW Timing" (self)
|--> Step 3
|--> Do mapped key "Jab" in keymap "WW Timing" (self)
|--> Step 4
|--> Do mapped key "Tigereye Brew" in keymap "WW Timing" (self)

Fists of Fury Timing
|--> Step 1
| Do not advance to the next step for at least 20 seconds
|--> Do WoW macro "Fists of Fury" in "Quick Setup 41" (self)
|--> Step 2
| Do not advance to the next step for at least 4 seconds

/castsequence [nochanneling] reset=3 Tigereye Brew, Fists of Fury, null
/startattack

Just made a pretty significant update of the macros I put in page one of this thread. Now have fairly optimized macros for:
Prot Pally
Disc Priest
Marks Hunter
Ele Shaman
Destro Warlock, and
Arcane Mage

I am very happy with the Arcane Mage and Marks Hunter ones, decently happy with most of the others, but disappointed with the Ele Shaman one which I just can't seem to get good DPS out of.

Apperciate the update Mercurio, this will definitely help once my guys get to 100.

First let me just say Thank You!! :) I have a prot pally, disc priest, 3x DestLock team so your updated macros were awesome. Granted the team isn't 90 yet (87's most of em) so I needed to go through and cruft out stuff I couldn't cast just yet that was causing lock ups, but it was still a great start!

I had a question and a quick correction. On the Prot Pally I didn't understand why on Step 3 you separated out the other casts like that? Isn't step 3 just a priority cast and so wouldn't it be the same thing if your Macro 3 was:

/castsequence reset=9 Avenger's Shield, Sacred Shield, Avenger's Shield
/cast [combat][player] Holy Prism
/cast Holy Wrath
/cast Hammer of Wrath
/cast Consecration

The correction was on the disc priest:

3:

/stopmacro [channeling][mod:shift]
/castsequence [target=target,harm,nodead][target=focustarget,harm,nodead][target=raid1target,harm,nodead][target=party1,harm,nodead] Holy Fire
/use 13
/use 14
/cast Power Infusion
/cast Archangel

This macro needs to be fixed if your using the talents you have selected since Power Word: Solace replaces Holy Fire.

Gideon,

Thanks for the comments.

On the Prot Pally, you are probably right. I could simplify that macro setup by using the code you suggested instead of multiple steps.

On on the Disc Priest, fortunately, the macro system is smart enough to auto-replace the Holy Fire with Solace if you have taken that talent. I left it as Holy Fire in case I ever switch out of the Solace talent - won't have to change the macro.

Ok tested by just having step 3 have multiple actions w/direct keybinds and it definitely does not do the same thing :)

OK, I'll leave it as is.

Let me know if you have any other improvements, though. Always looking to make these better.

Mercuri amazing work here, I am understand and read the macros well. However I am extremely new to Multi boxing. I have been searching the links here as to how/where to BUILD/paste these macros.
Perhaps I am just too excited about the whole or'deal and I am reading over what i need asap. But, if you have a link or better search query to point me into the right direction I am anxious to get this ball rolling.
Rolling a gDruid and Dpriest currently. Just rolled up a pair gDruid + rSham with hotkeynet and was having a blast, got wind of isboxer, so I parked them at 66ish and intend to give this a whirl. From what i read I can basically create smart macros that know what HEALING or TANKING class I am, and it will then cast appropriately. I myself and not so much into RIADING or heroics. But I do love to level "Weird right?" and Pvp. So this will greatly fill the desire of one of those aspects.
Can you guess which? lol

Thank you again for the write up and your time.

Noidea as well, its why I dont use them lol

I did use merc's macro ages ago think was Cata or MOP cannot remember think cata when he had some kind of guide and how you add it into isboxer, but I have a new pc since then and never kept my old conf file, so I tend to use macros from wow lazy macro's instead.

Also, if we do find, get a guide in how we add these in steps, will there be a macro for surv and bm ?

Surv is still pretty decent, and BM is superior now, especially with 4 set.

Finally found the post: http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/32633-Mecurio-s-Cataclysm-Multiboxing-Macros

Was Cata, is that the same step macro thing you people are using now ?

As in follow that guide in How to set this up in isboxer Then use the macros from this current Topic ???

The macros should be largely the same as Cata, with an additional ability here and there. The caveat is that some are more timing-dependent (e.g. the Balance Druid setups) and may need updates to remain competitive.

Maybe this will help.

I am using ISBoxer and Variable Keymaps. In the Virtual Mapped Keys tab for a given Character, it should say Virtual Combat Key Map is now "Shaman Elemental Key Map", where "Shaman Elemental" is the name of a key map you have created.

In my first post in this thread, I have some macros listed out as 1, 2, 3, etc for each class/spec. These are in-game macros you activate with the "Shaman Elemental" (or whatever) key map in ISBoxer.

My Shaman Elemental Key Map in the first post says:

Step 1: 1, 2, 4
Step 2: 1, 2, 4, 3
Step 3: 1, 2, 4

Therefore, in the ISBoxer Shaman Elemental Key Map, I have set up three steps. The first sends key presses 1, 2, and 4 to the game. Those key presses activate the corresponding macros in game.

The above description assumes a bit of knowledge about ISBoxer but should help. If it makes no sense to you, watch some of Mirai's videos and you should be going in short order.

he advanced set up that allows you to have different

First of all, thanks for these macros, guys - they [generally] are awesome :)

Question - the Elem Shammy macro. Earth Shock is kinda tailing everyting else (being at the end the cast sequence of five LBs, plus that macro only gets hit only once every 3 steps) - is that intentional? For example your Hunter/Mage macros being at 100 dps theory mark leave my shammy at 70% when compared, is that normal too? I know shammy is not supposed to be a dps hero, but 70%?

Hi Alex66,

The use of Earth Shock is important to an Elemental Shaman. Earth Shock's relationship with Lightning Shield to get Fulmination (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=88766/fulmination) is critical. It should only rarely be called or at the end of a macro because you want a build up via Improved Lightning Shield (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=324/lightning-shield).

I personally use two Elemental Shaman's in my ten boxing team. I have found they also typically lag behind my hunter's for example. (If macro'd properly the hunter will beat most classes) The percentage difference is usually a relationship based off my current Ivl and the dungeon bosses I am fighting.

Arcane Mage

Single and Multi-target

Step 1: 1
Step 2: 2
Step 3: 3

1:

/assist focus
/stopmacro [channeling]
/castsequence reset=5 Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Blast,Arcane Barrage

2:

/assist focus
/stopmacro [channeling]
/cast [combat] Arcane Power
/cast [combat] Supernova
/use 13
/use 14

3:

/assist focus
/stopmacro [channeling]
/cast Arcane Missiles

In step 1, will Arcane Barrage ever cast with a reset of 5?

reset=5 means that the macro will reset if 5 seconds pass without it being pressed again, not 5 seconds from the time it's called for the first time. So as long as you keep pressing your DPS key, it will go through the whole castsequence.
