I'm looking for some insight from someone who has possibly dealt with this issue or has dealt with Blizzard investigations and being reported for botting and so fourth. I currently have four active accounts that I pay a monthly subscription on, over the years I acquired these accounts from friends who moved on from the World of Warcraft to IRL or other games (this seemed more logical to me than going out and buying new accounts). On all of my accounts it is my e-mail, CC, address, phone number etc. Though as some of you may or may not know, you can not change the name that is attached to said account. So this leads me to my question, when I am reported for botting as I most certainly will be on the server that I play - and Blizzard launches their investigation will I be found guilty of breaking ToS/EULA and suspended because of the different names on the account all being played by moi? I'm pretty certain I know the answer but I want to see if anyone else has dealt with something similar to my situation. Thanks for any input.

There are lots of threads related to this topic, simple answer is yes, you're breaking the TOS/EULA and as such would receive a perma-ban on all of the accounts (including those in your own name) for account sharing, if/when you get reported and investigated.

Not only can you not change the name on the account, your friends are breaking their contract with blizzard by giving these accounts to you.

Quoting the EULA: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/eula.html

8. Ownership/Selling of the Account or Virtual Items.
Blizzard does not recognize the transfer of Accounts. You may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, and any such attempt shall be null and void. Blizzard owns, has licensed, or otherwise has rights to all of the content that appears in the Program. You agree that you have no right or title in or to any such content, including the virtual goods or currency appearing or originating in the Game, or any other attributes associated with the Account or stored on the Service. Blizzard does not recognize any virtual property transfers executed outside of the Game or the purported sale, gift or trade in the "real world" of anything related to the Game. Accordingly, you may not sell items for "real" money or otherwise exchange items for value outside of the Game.

So this leads me to my question, when I am reported for botting as I most certainly will be on the server that I play - and Blizzard launches their investigation will I be found guilty of breaking ToS/EULA and suspended because of the different names on the account all being played by moi? The more often you are reported, the more often you are investigated by Blizzard.

The more often you are investigated by Blizzard, the more likely it is that any ToU/EULA breaking activities will be identified.

Now, here's the questions you should ask yourself:
Are you breaking the rules by playing other accounts? Yes.
Are you going to get banned because you are multiboxing? No.
Will you get banned for account sharing? It's likely.
Will you get banned more quickly than normal for account sharing because of the attention you get thanks to multiboxing? This is very likely.

Now before people start hopping into the thread telling us how they found a sneaky way to transfer their brother/sister/cousin's/fiance's account characters onto an account with their own name, let me remind people that doing so is very much against Blizzard rules and discussing ways to get around Blizzard rules is against our own Community Rules ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Board&boardID=31') (linked on the front of the forums).

Well. I guess I'll go and purchase a couple of new accounts and cease my subscriptions to those that were given to me by my acquaintances. Thank you for your responses.

Yepyep, sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

Figuring this out early is the best, anyway. The longer you wait to set things up correctly the harder it will be when the characters get banned. I'm not sure what level your characters are, but I know someone lost a few 70's and regretted not starting over with legal account names earlier.
