Small suggestion...
Split the Newbie and support forum..
Set up newb forum so people can post the dumb questions and not get insta flamed... (lord knows even a newcomer like me feels the urge to flame sometimes :D)
Support forum just as it should be support type questions...
Thoughts?

I would have to agree. Would also make it easy for people to find problems.

I always thought it was the same thing and good to clump them together, having each of the forums active is a good thing- but if that's what the community wants and thinks it'll make better I can make the change :)

i believe you'd end up with 2 forums with many of the same questions.
when people show up for the first time, if they see 'support' or 'newbie' ... they are going to be confused... because they're definitely a newbie, but they need support.
having it all in one area does have the slight chance of a newbie actually reading a post that might be right there next to their own post... (instead of the stickies... which are invisible sometimes)

Why segregate the new people? Just to flame them? If someone's going to post a dumb question, they'll post it right in the general forums because they won't bother to even read the forum titles anyway.
We're a community, we should feel like a community. I say keep them together. I don't want to get flamed if I decide to think up some newbie question. ;)

...
Pretty much why I've stopped looking in the support/newcomers forum for months, didn't realise it had changed names even, and why these days I rarely read more than 1-2 threads/posts because 90% of the stuff on the forums in the past few months is just... well garbage... shame :/
