View Full Version : State Of The Game - Is WoW still fun to box?

Hi,

I have not played since the end of Cataclysm. I have two teams:

* A Paladin & Four Shamans
* Priest & Four Death Knights

I think I have a Warlock and Druid and Mage somewhere as well. I live in Australia so I have around 350ms latency.

My questions:
* Is boxing still fun in WoW or has phasing and other mechanics made it more frustrating than fun?
* If I was going to pre-order WOD and boost one of those teams to 90 what is the most viable considering I know zero about talents or any changes since Cataclysm from a boxing perspective?
* Is IWT/CTM improved? Back when I played with my DK's just spun around my target in a tornado and did... very average DPS. I think I won more PvP out of a deer in headlights confusion aspect than by overpowering them.

I like to do PvE content, do instances, random battlegrounds and play the AH.

Thanks for any advice.

Phasing still sucks.

MoP has a lot of ground clicky collects that aren't group-wide. So you will be grinding quite a bit of questing if you go that route.

Follow has been removed as a mechanic in BGs. That rules BGs out.

A very unhealthy number of mobs now do ground slam effects that mean you need to move around a lot more than you used to. Timeless Isle is a good show of this.

5 man dungeons are easy but they really didn't put much work into the dungeons this iteration. WoD should be better.

Hmmm that is not super encouraging for $80 a month.

Any thoughts on classes?

Perhaps the team composition (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/31-Multiboxing-Group-Composition-Discussion) sub-forum has an answer.

Your IWT wasnt right, it's not an issue with the game but rather your implementation / understanding of it. You are spamming movement / pathing way too much, the newest Isboxer video on it sort of covers the spam issue you had with your characters pathing like you describe.

I haven't played MOP content but when i was playing Cata I leveled but don't have an expert grasp of warlocks, shamans, mages, but i enjoyed the DK team the most. being able to death grip mobs, and open with a lot of range spam is alot of fun. A group created this little number (http://raidcomp.mmo-champion.com/). It was built for raids but its a nice tool to see at a glance how many interrupts, debuffs, and buffs your team has.

the pally 4 shammys kinda sucks as the pally has a mounted buff that can not be shard with the party. so you have to play from a sham but mop leveling is easy now to get to 90 in a few hours. the pickup quest are nothing same as before. the aoe mods are simpe to kill with 5 hc are super fast. with timless gear.

Timeless isle is fine you just have to be ranged with a warlock tank pet (or hunter tank pet I guess). If you were able to bear 5 boxing in cata, you should have more fun now.

Yesterday I was running through Jade Forest on my war/shm combo using the Mechano-Hog as a mount and remembered just how awful that area was to multibox. My passenger kept getting dismounted off the hog every time I passed from one quest hub to another.

Nothing has changed in that regard. I doubt they've remedied this ahead of WoD.

i still like it. Been leveling a few new teams the last few days finally using RAF (Denmark (EU) was excluded before)
Do a few instances/raids whenever I feel like it and hunt a few old mounts
