I gave the blogs a try, but they just don't seem useful.

First problem is they are moderated. The whole point of blogging is you can update daily and people can follow you, but whats the point if the posts don't show up right away? I still have posts waiting for moderation since April 9th.

Second problem is there is not enough storage room. I made less than 10 posts before hitting the attachment limit, and since I am not allowed to delete my own blog posts I will have to post text-only or host the images elsewhere.

I think links to twitter and facebook are better idea. If the blogs are just giving you more work to do then you can probably just remove them since there is little reward for the work. Seems plenty of other areas of the site all the moderators could spend their time on rather than moderating the personal blogs.

I approved the blog posts, but I don't know why that's an extra step now. It obviously wasn't necessary before moving to the new theme, so I'm going to have to assume that that's what caused it and someone with some power is going to have to change the settings.

Blogs being moderated is news to me. I'm going to have to guess it's because the forums were upgraded but since no one but spammers attempt to use them, no one has brought it up.

I've adjusted the blog settings as of now.

As Svpernova09 said this was originally done to combat all the spam blog posts, but then nobody has been approving valid blog posts. Oops.

So what I've changed is there's a new "Dual-Boxing Bloggers" usergroup, which you are now in, that allows you to bypass the moderation queue.

In addition to bypassing the moderation queue, your attachment limit is increased to something that you hopefully will not reach any time soon. You can still host images elsewhere if you like ;)

Was there supposed to be somewhere that we see this? I haven't seen notifications anywhere about pending blog submissions.

I'm with Khat on this one. I didn't know we were supposed to be approving blog posts or even where to go to do that.

Whatever the outcome I just think it should not give you any more work. Having to constantly delete spam or moderate an extra area seems unnecessary since there are other places we could post. Such as the forum or commons.
