Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I am having.

I bought and installed a new video card 2 days ago, it is a Gigabyte GTX 750ti.
I have used it since I got it, played WoW and other general stuff with no hassles.

Today I was playing WoW and my computer crashed (screen went dark, nothing responded). Since then I haven't been able to get my graphics card to work again.

I can boot up with my monitor plugged into the onboard graphics, and my computer doesn't seem to see my graphics card anywhere in Windows or bios.

I have taken the card out and put it back in a number of times, and tried different PCIE slots on the motherboard, to no avail.
It seems like the card isn't powering up, when the computer starts the fans on the card don't start.

Anyone have any idea what might have happened and/or what else I might try?

Thanks.

After putting my old card back in, and it working correctly, I guess I have to assume my new card is faulty.

Still like any ideas though, seems odd it would work fine for 2 days then die...

Well, it happens.

I mean, if the 750Ti is fully seated in the PCIe slot (you said you tried them all) and the 6-pin power cable is plugged in, then there's no reason the GPU shouldn't work (especially the fan on it); and since you can plug the old GPU back in and it still works would only indicate to me that the 750 Ti is just plain shot.

If you get another one and it blows up too, then it could be the PSU. /shrug

Yeah, that's what I figured.
I guess I'll try taking it back seen as it was 2 days old, and see if they'll replace it.

I can't imagine they would refuse to exchange it. If they did there's probably a manufacturers warranty.

Probably defective. Would think psu would cause other failures. I assume old card and new card use same psu connection and have similar power requirements?

Ok, so I got the card replaced. Just took me a few days to get back there.
They tested it instore and got the same as me, so they just swapped it no problem.

Thanks for the input guys, hopefully all ok now!
