View Full Version : Annoying WoW issues... made more apparent w/ multiboxing!

I'll start w/ the following example (which I encounter randomly about 5-6 a week, and ALWAYS when I HS back to Nagrand):

http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mainviewyx8.jpg
^--- Main view (notice the two alts missing, appearing nowhere near me).

http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?image=altviewew3.jpg
^--- Alt's view (notice to the alt, he's where he SHOULD be... right w/ the group)!

This, along w/ the "mob just stands there" when attacked, resulting in a "You're too far away to loot the corpse" message... is HIGHLY annoying. I posted on the WoW forums before about this issue, only to get beat to death w/ the "Your internet connection sucks" responses! I tried to explain that it wasn't MY connection causing this (currently have Uverse 10/1.5 and my pings are constantly around 50-60ms). Also, I've NEVER had an issue w/ any "connectivity" w/ any game except for WoW. I'm still convinced it's the way their communication's packets are being handled within their development!

Btw, I should add... even when I fire up WoW at my brother's residence (about 80 miles from me, using DSL and a completely different provider), I still encounter this! Perhaps you all CAN confirm this is a global user-base issue... and I'm here alone ponderin' wtf is goin' on!

Ya I get it too from time to time. When you use Epic flying mounts you'll notice it quite a bit.
The worst part is one of my characters did not load into view on an Arena Match directly causing me to lose :(

I'm not sure of a fix to this besides just relogging.

Id attribute this to bugs caused by 2.4... there are/were a ton of them, I actually was up all night when 2.4 came out just playing and exploring and stuff on my 70s and you should have seen the bugs and glitches that were happening...ohhh boy. At one point whenever I was moving on the isle of qael'danas I was doing a swim motion along the ground and moving at the speed of epic flight form. The catch was I was the only one moving, all mobs and players were rooted and no one else saw me (chat still worked because its run differently) or there were times when maybe 3-4 of us could move out of 20. so we went around killing ally that were stuck haha (mainly the ganking bastards out there).. oh the fun times of a new major patch are great.

As for the 'too far away' ive only ever gotten that one due to lag or if im clipping on some scenery but its rare, and that happened even before 2.4. The only time ive ever ahd characters disappear has been right after I 5x recall them to shattrah and it often takes a min or two to load but once they do its all fine.

Relogging or running the one who CANT see the others out of view range(100yds or so) then back into range SHOULD reload the affected people and everyone goes on their happy little way again lol

Does /reloadui fix it? I've had the same problem but never tried -- I just ran out of range then back into range again.

Unfortunately, the /console reloadui doesn't fix it! ;(

That way, when it dies your client and the server agree on the location, allowing you to loot it. I've done this several times with success every time. It's a pain to have to do, but it's at least a work around in case an important mob does this to you.

Just run far enough away and come back and the corpse should be in the right place.

Just run far enough away and come back and the corpse should be in the right place. That works as well, but moving the mob to it's previous location is quicker for me. You can do that while you're in the process of killing it, whereas killing it and running out of range then running back can be time consuming if you have to do it often.

It doesn't happen to me frequently, usually when I am questing and killing non-elites. After a mana burn, fireball, shadowbolt, steady shot, auto shot combo the mob is usually dead or death is imminent. I don't really have time to run anything anywhere.

I had this similar thing happen while farming timbermaw. I somehow lost two of them on my main, separate pc. Everytime I made the circuit, there they were. According to them, they were with me the whole time. They got xp and looted and attacked as normal, so I went with it. Finally flying away fixed it up. I noticed when I did the 2box on epic flying, the one pc would say it was next to my main, but my main disagreed, saying the follow toon was far away, would always break follow. It seemed to work fine on normal flying. I got into the habit of braking every few seconds to allow my main to recognize the follow was right behind me, annoying and made the cost so worthless at the time.
