Spending all your game time grinding isk for your 10bil/month bill so you can live in null is pretty dull in my opinion. Plus, renters are typically easy targets for ganks because they are often weak and/or bad. Lots of people like to roam renter space for that reason (esp. my alliance)

500mil - 1bil per sec is pretty run of the mill, so your system is probably about 3-6 bil. More if it has an ice belt, station, or dead-end system. Doing pve all month just to pay the rent isn't fun to me, but i guess if thats your thing then ok. :)

and n3 isnt so bad with their prices as goons are. they charge an arm and a leg for their renters. its pretty fucking ludicrous. its also great for finding shit to kill though :D

If you have enough members with you then the rent is eay to pay. The pvp is fun and the roamers provide us with target practise. We use an ESS as bait. No need to just grind tbh.

Renter space is tasty tasty space no matter which coalition you are on... specially if you multibox 15 cov cynos :D
