This is making me CRAZY! Passing keyboard button pushes question...

Alright, I've been searching for a few days now I can't for the life of me find what I'm looking for!

Let me xplain my set up: I have one machine, and I'm trying to play 3 chars at once on WoW - One Shad Priest and 2 Locks. I've got 2 monitors... dunno if that'll help me. I also have the Keyclone program and Maximizer working together and whatnot.


I want one lock to be my main and on that lock's action bars I want buttons I can click that will activate spells for the shad priest and the 2 warlocks, I've tried but failed miserably to use the actual keyboard keys to activate stuff because I've been a hardcore clicker throughout all of my rpg days... thanks a lot Diablo2!

I was trying to find some kind of virtual keyboard program type thing that would sit on the wow window but would be invisible and would let my mouse clicks go through to my main wow and send the virtual keyboard clicks to the other 2 windows. OR I was hoping there'd be an addon out there that if all 3 chars had that addon I could make macros for the main lock that activated the spells on the other 2 chars as well as ones for itself.

If I didn't explain this well enough I'll draw a picture on paint or something as I'm better at making pics to xplain myself... lol. AND! Of corse ask questions if u have them on stuff not related to needing pics.

Sounds like the bottom line is you want clicks to pass to the other windows as well/instead of keypresses. Unfortunately I personally have no clue whether there's a program that passes clicks correctly on a single comp(I know there's some that can pass to multiple computers though lol) so we'll see if someone else knows =\

(Clicking a is bad baaaaad habit though, break it while you can, you'll not regret it in favor of keypresses ;) )

Learn to mash instead of click. I have been a long time clicker with a few keys I mash. It would be a real pain to make what you are saying work. Learning how to Mash keys isn't as hard as it seems and it will improve your gameplay.

I fully agree with Eteocles. I hate to sound like one of the elitists, but especially while multiboxing I don't see how you can survive without using your keyboard. The ability to have the different mappings and then effectively using modifier macros (making a single macro do different actions on shift/alt/ctrl etc) is just too great when doing something like this.

Also, about the mouse clicks, I believe I've seen keyclone mention a few times that even across multiple machines he doesn't recommend using the click to pass as it can be unreliable or something... I can try and dig up a reference thread, I don't want to put words in his mouth.

I don't want to pass clicks I just want to pass the clicks as pushing buttons on the keyboard to the other 2 windows, I'm thinking Keyclone can help with this along with wow macros... I dunno.

You want to map it so that when you click, it IS a pre-assigned keypress on the other windows? Aka, click on main and have 2nd lock cast shadowbolt while priest casts greater heal? That's possible...Keymapping I believe is the feature that does it, though again that's not a feature I use at all so I'm useless for helping set it up :p If that's not what you meant, I'll wait for your picture LOL

I believe he wants something that, when he clicks, essentially broadcasts a keypress of a specific keyboard key. For instance, I click on a section of my screen (not sure if he wants a keyboard overlay?) and it fires off a key press of 1 to all the other clients.

Unfortunately I don't know of anything that does this.

and yes, it is on the short list (but not top priority... there is something higher...)

So essentially you would end up doing both in this case if you wanted all of your characters to do the same thing. Is that really what you're after?

Is that really what you're after?aw crap ur right... the keys won't go to minimized windows but I think theres a free keyclone type program that I tried at one point that you could tell to send key pushes to browsers with the same names

I found something!

Its called Comfort Keys,it puts a fully customizable keyboard on your screen that runs on top of wow and you can make it transparent (you can also set a custom background for easy set up) so you can see the wow icons. When I go to click the wow icon I'm actually clicking on the virt. keyboard and that sends the msg to Keyclone and the current wow window so all you gotta do is just bind the virt. keyboard key to whatever wow icon it lines up with!

Like I said before tho I'm a clicker so this isn't something that keyboard ppl would want.

Right now I'm using the 30-day trial version so if anyone knows of something exactly like this but for free post it here!

I click sometimes too, depends on what's going on. But for example typing by not using the keyboard I already have and clicking a virt? That seems like going outside to get a drink, when you have a fully functioning faucet inside. Really, clicking has a purpose, but WoW performance, you're better off learning to faceroll. It will save you a lot of time, and you'll be a lot more effective. I promise.

If I understand correctly, u want to send keypresses to your other clients , but by clicking on an Icon from your main windows..
Well, You can do that easily with AHK, All you need to do is map coordinates of every icon on your main window and have them set to send a key press to wichever client u want..

As my main is a Pally and my alts are all Shammies,, I use this method to map most of my shammy spells.. this way i can simply click a box and have all my shammies drop a totem or cast a specific spell that i want (eg Ghost wolf, Lightening Shield, Rock biter etc)..... During the fights though,, i still mainly use buttons 1-2-3-4 on the keybord to cast lightening bolts and Shocks as its easier and faster(button smashing) and at the same time i have my Pally spells being cast.. However if i want them to drop a particular totem i just click on its icon box (Cooordinate) and they all drop it OR do whatever i've set up on each shammy...

I'll try to explain ,, Bellow is a small snipit of my AHK script,(just a small part of my script), As u can c there are mouse range coordinates,, So when i click at those cordinates on the main screen the script sends a perticular keypress to all my other clients,, ( which are mapped according to your prefference for each client),, i hope this all makes sense,,

Its a virtual keyboard that supposedly works with any windows app. Dunno if it would work with Keyclone or not but its free so you could give it a try...
