That would be automation (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/46453-Blues-on-Boxing?p=354851&viewfull=1#post354851) and is not allowed. Specifically -

This is why multi-boxing is just fine.

The moment that single keypress initiates a string of actions not normally possible via our base macro system for an individual character, then that is a different matter.

So, to expand your definition: ‘safe’ multi-boxing commands are one button press = one action per character.”

The point is that the ‘something’ that occurs spools out without direct human involvement aside from the initial pull of the lever. That is automation. Even if it’s only a single extra step.

In multi-boxing, every action taken by those characters has its source in a human command. Each individual action. Thus, it is not automation.

Multiple key presses/uses of abilities from a single command, spoken or typed? Not okay.

Setting up a macro with said keyboard that would, for example, automatically press Fireball each time it was available? Automation.

Pain is a message, you are doing it wrong. Different posture / positioning of gear and maybe some gear changes.

Carpal tunnel related to typing was proven to be highly overblown (journalists like to write about any subject related to themselves esp personally), but it exists.

Plus you shouldnt have to type as fast and as hard as people often do.

Key mashing? No. Not good for your hands at all irrespective of how many accounts you play.

Just put your attack on something else like a wheel mouse. I type when I'm talking to someone. I use gamepads and the mouse when I'm gaming.

I have this issue in PVE, the 1000 character long multiple cast sequences, casts, etc. require you to bind it to like 10 keys and popsicle stick them as fast as you can to pull decent DPS. On key down is good, and there are other alternatives I'm looking into but most look like automation (analog devices... push harder = push faster, doesn't sound legit).

One option is to bind your macros you spam to larger keys (space bar), or even a foot pedal... I knew a guy who'd easiy farm mobs nonstop for 6 hours using a (in game, legit) wow macro that he just used a food pedal for or literally used his fist on the spacebar so as not to tear up his thumbs.

I don't know how your keybinds are setup or how much you mash... but there are a lot of things:
1. Global cooldown - ~1.5 sec delay between instant spells, mashing not necessary
2. Keyboard type and arrangement
3. Position of hands on the keyboard, etc
4. Talk to you doctor about peripheral neuropathy / carpal tunnel / cubital tunnel, etc. if it's that bad and you've tried the rest
