Hi all,
Back in wow again after a long while off it - Decided to just run with 2 accounts for now - I have 1 max pally (ret+holy, ilevel 500ish) and 1 max hunter (ilevel 500ish) that I would love to run as a duo for dailies.
I have no experience running melee groups - But how would you run this combo? Any advice or thoughts?
I'm thinking pally ret as main, and hunter just on an assist macro sequence - And for harder stuff, perhaps swapping to hunter main with pally heals?
Thoughts?

For dailies you shouldn't need healing at all. Worst case, I'd suggest pulling out a tanky pet and letting your hunter throw the occasional heal to the pet while your pally stays ret and DPSes.
As far as leading, I'd lead with the paladin so you have more control over movement and postioning. Ranged are all pretty much fine if you just drop them off somewhere in range and let them do their thing.

For just questing id probly main the hunter and just denounce spam with the pally (and heal while pulling every mob in the area) My main is a pally and I just did dailies as holy. Never could wind up ret dps enough on non elites to make enough of a difference spec wise and melee are more work than ranged :)

cheers, another question - should i bother with Jamba, or is the isboxer addon enough?

Jamba is always worthwhile. I even run Jamba solo for its autosell, autobuy, item bar etc. With a duo you will still find Jamba exceedingly helpful for tracking quests, selecting rewards, taking taxis and all that other stuff.

Going for ret pally as main and hunter tank pet as dps - Now im struggling a bit to set it up, so a few follow up questions:
1) I use 1-5/6 to dps on the ret, putting the same /castsequence macro on all those keys for hunter is working poorly (as i start with mark and dot, those keep getting recast) - should I remap in isboxer so that 1-7 all cast 1 for the hunter?
2) Any suggestions on a BM hunter dps macro?
3) When I take them to raids, I heal on pally, would you map a separate dps spam key for that situation? How do I best manage that?

for Macros do google search for Lazymacros and find one that works for you. i use them for all my teams. just FYI, Pets make lousy tanks. Your Pally will pull the mob off of your pet.

I am far, far, FAR from a macro master. I still after years of boxing come here first looking for macro ideas as well. So I'll just tell you what I'd do in this situation.
Make a DPS macro for your ret pally. Questing you're not really gonna have much of a rotation. With the hunter's dps mobs will die pretty fast (some before your ret pally can get to em depending on how far away you start attacking). So just put together a cheap ret pally macro on 1 with a few abilities in rotation.
Alternatively, use a /castsequence reset=target so you're not spamming hunters mark. I only level doing instance runs, and that's what I do with my warlocks to drop curses so each curse winds up on each mob. If you drop a copy of that same macro on 1,2,3,4,5,6 that might work.
2) Any suggestions on a BM hunter dps macro?
As suggested above look for a BM hunter dps macro on lazymacros or somewhere. I find while just tweaking my team and getting started it sometimes works to just construct a cheap and easy macro. It's not going to be max efficiency dps by any stretch of the imagination, but it's more than adequate for quest mobs. And over time you'll tweak it as you notice inconsistencies in it or cooldowns causing problems. That kinda stuff.
3) When I take them to raids, I heal on pally, would you map a separate dps spam key for that situation? How do I best manage that?
Hopefully before you raid with both you'll have tweaked your BM hunter macro so you have only a couple keys. I haven't boxed hunters but my warlocks (and mages...and shamans...and...and hehe) I just have my main dps on 1, and then spells to cast in certain situations (like chaos bolt) I have on 2, 3, and 4.
On the healer ...I'd actually probably heal with a slave and main the hunter as grid/clique with repeater windows is pretty damn efficient and it'd allow you more control over the hunter dps in a raid setting you'd just leave 1 thru 6 blank.
Just a few ideas from my perspective. There's an amazing number of ways to set up even a 2 box team. Which is probably why I'm still so addicted to boxing :) Oh and as Khatovar said...jamba ftw. If I'm not gonna box for awhile I turn it off. But if I'm just playing 1 toon for awhile I leave it on for all the extra perks it has.

I'd suggest you take a look at this section (http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/46393-Khat-s-Newbie-Guide-for-Multiboxing-Vol-2?p=354393&viewfull=1#post354393) in the 2nd Newbie's guide on advanced macros. The methods I talk about for my Death Knight are the same methods I've used on my hunter for marks and stings as well as druids and warlocks for Dots and Debuffs.
