Howdy all,

First Off, I want to appoligize for the Wall Of Text Crit. I have several questions and I wanted to get it all out there at once.

I have lurked around here for years now, but I have rarely posted. I am now chasing http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=8092/ive-got-9999-problems-but-a-bone-white-primal-raptor-aint-one I am playing this on my laptop, so I don't use a mouse at a desk. Once I get my desktop back up and running, I will move back to the computer room and learn how to heal correctly. Right now I am just spamming 1-4 keys as I work through the mobs.

The group I am now using is a Protection Warrior, Three BM Hunters, and a Disc Priest. If it would help to add Item Levels of the toons and DPS/HPS numbers, I can. All of the toons have gear and weapons from Timeless Isle. All of the toons are able to use LFR, and I have three boxed the hunters so far through the first 4 instances, with my Main Hunter and my Warrior as Arms DPS, I have gone further. I am using ISBoxer. I would like to thank Lax, Ualaa, and MiRai for their articles and advice. The only reason I am able to 5 box on my laptop at all is the fact that MiRai said that he lowered his FPS while running his machine for something, and that was the trick for me. This was not the first version of this team. I started out with my Warrior, Restro Shaman, Shadow Priest, and 2 BM Hunters. The Shaman was unable to keep the Tank Alive so I rearranged the group. I also tried Warrior, Disc Priest, Holy Paladin, BM Hunters, and an Elemental Shaman. The Paladin is 86 and kept dieing, so I booted her. I am using the Standard MMO, not the Pro setting. I am going to post all of the Macros that I am using to see if they either help others or if people know how to help tweak them to make them better. I got the Macros from wowlazymacros.com, I have tweaked them a bit. But as I am new, I am just trying to make them work.

I have primarily been farming;

Young Primal Devilsaur (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=69993) - 4.7 million health, 11-13x Bones, http://wow.zamimg.com/images/wow/icons/tiny/ability_warrior_shieldbreak.gif Crush (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=138765)
Primal Devilsaur (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=70008) - 13 million health, 35-45x Bones, http://wow.zamimg.com/images/wow/icons/tiny/ability_hunter_pet_devilsaur.gif Piercing Roar (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=138766)
One thing the wowhead page does not show is the fact that the Primal Devilsauses also give Crush to the tanks, which is why I was unable to just farm this with 3 BM Hunters. The Debuff was killing my pets too dam fast, I was getting ready to create a rez macro.

The Young Primal Devilsaures are not that big of an issue. I lead from my main hunter, they die pretty quick. My Priest only goes through about 1/2 of his mana when I pull 2-3 of the Young, but, when I pull a Primal Devilsaur I switch to my Warrior, and I get 1 or 2 of the Young, I am lucky to make it out with my entire crew intact. I am using Spam Macros on all toons, single target and multi-target DPS, while the Priest heals the tank. All three of the Hunter are BM with Spirit Bond, so as long as I keep the Primals away from the group, the self heal keeps them up fine.

I currently have been farming for two days and I have just over half of the required bones. Once I have them all, I will post a pic of the crew on the new mounts.

Now on to my Macros and my questions.

I am using ISBoxer, Jamba, Macro Toolkit, GTFO, Recount, and DBM.

I have noticed that different people used different ways to keep the game from saying error messages, but I don't know if one is better than the other. But I would like to learn so I can make my macros better.

Disc priest main:

Your priest should shield the tank (on cooldown), prayer of mending the tank (on cooldown), and other than that be doing atonement dps (penance, holy fire, smite) and take the mindbender talent and use it on cooldown (more dps). Atonement is much stronger than renew so that is a waste of a GCD. Disc priests do not renew*! And you should never ever be going oom while farming stuff, because atonement should be most of your filler healing and it is mostly mana neutral.

Both flash heal and cascade are mana whores and you don't need to be using them in a rotation.

Let me repeat do NOT use renew or flash heal, unless you are driving from the priest and you want to manually flash heal. Spend your time doing passive healing instead.

If your healer is pulling aggro so much that you need a "oh shit don't die healer" macro, I'd a) get better at tanking with the warrior and b) drive from the healer and manually use fade (aggro drop) Healing yourself shouldn't really be this big of an issue. A self shield should be all you ever need

As you aren't going to be flash healing as part of your single target rotation anymore, you also want to take inner focus out. Inner focus should be used either manually to stack a big shield on the tank with a greater heal, or only as part of your aoe healing.

Glyphs for farming should be: holy fire, weakened soul, and either pws or smite, depending on if you'd rather have a little more damage or a little more healing

* The only time I use renew is if I'm having to heal myself on the move and I can't shield myself because of weakened soul

You Sir, are THE MAN. Since I rarely ever solo on my Priest as Disc anymore, I was not current on how to heal as a Disc Priest any more. As you said, I setup an Atonement DPS macro which works on the small elite mobs, and I now have a single target tank healing macro that is working really well. My Oh Shit macro was to keep the Tank alive, not to keep the Priest alive. My Mana issues have also disappeared, after pulling 3 90 Elite mobs, my Priest had @ 75% mana, while after pulling two 92 Elites back to back, the Priest was still fine on Mana.

I have updated my macros, I will post them here and update my macros up top as well.

Atonement DPS/Heal

#showtooltip Holy Fire
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence [@focus] reset=12 Power Word: Shield,Prayer of Mending,null
/castsequence [@focustarget, exists] reset=11 Holy fire,Smite,Smite,Smite
/castsequence [@focustarget, exists] reset=60 Mindbender,null
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide();
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

Disc Healing

#showtooltip Penance
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence [@focus] reset=12 Power Word: Shield,Prayer of Mending,null
/castsequence [@focustarget, exists] reset=60 Mindbender,null
/castsequence [@focus] reset=0.3 0,0,Greater Heal
/castsequence [@focus] reset=0.3 0,Penance
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide();
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

Self Heal on the Move

#showtooltip Renew
/tar Gooddoctor
/cast Power Word: Shield
/cast Renew
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide();
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

Oh Shit, don't let the tank die.

#showtooltip Pain Suppression
/tar Focus
/castsequence reset=0.3 0,0,Power Word: Shield
/castsequence reset=0.3 0, Pain Suppression
/castsequence reset=0.3 Greater Heal
/castsequence reset=0.3 Desperate Prayer

There still might be some room for tweaking on my macros, and as I continue to farm and I either learn more or if someone else has more information, please share and I will update this as I move into Dungeons with this crew.

Thanks again

I completed the Achievement and went ahead and got another 999 Bones for the Pet. I will update again once all of the Raptor Eggs hatch for the mounts.

Thanks,

One more note, think strongly about putting penance into your dps rotation. It generates atonement just like smite and holy fire. I just ran a quick experiment for you and in a one minute test period (probably about as long as any elite should live), 37% of my damage came from smite, 36% from penance, and mindbender 15%. Penance is higher DPS than smite and thus slightly stronger atonement. In an outdoor situation you really shouldn't have to save it for healing the tank. But its all about what you are comfortable doing. Even in raids I only use my penance to directly heal 10-20% of the time.
