Well, being inspired kruschpakx and his amazing ability to pew pew, i started my own 4 enhance shaman. I have experience with ele shaman back in BC days, but it didnt last long, melee teams looked a lot of fun, indeed that was true.

So i started this about a week before thanksgiving, then bought mop on black friday for the 3 non upgraded teams. now almost a month later they are all 90 (two weeks now) and almost fully 522 griev geared. They all sit around the 450k mark in hp, but are missing many small pieces that are filled with isle 496 gear.

I will be maintaining this thread with videos and thoughts, as well as random tidbits and conversation.

My strat for 5s is very much like kruschpakx, as i am inspired by his success, though a little different.

Key differences are i use earthgrab totem on 2 toons, one will put down earth grab, the other capictor totem, one windwalk, one stormlash. I try to do this to stun a few people while trapped by the grab, as i am not using totemic projection, this makes it easier to get a stun. i have this button mirrored with the other set so i have essentially two chances at this.

I use the talent for double of the same totem up, with earth ele and other general sloppiness, i like not canceling a totem i want.

I also do not use rushing streams, instead Ancestral guidance in a macro combined with shamanistic rage, this is my wall macro and i can generally heal up full with this, very very effective with chain heal and ascendence, though the cooldown is a bit long. I just can't remember to put down healing stream.

I do like echo of the elements with chain heal, but the instant (and reliable) hex is more important, especially combined with primal elemental stun for trinket forcing.

I have not done a lot of 5s, rather i have been just capping my mid season catchup (over 100games each) by dual boxing 2s. So that in mind, i will leave you with a video of me capping 2s dualboxing. Note that there are two different sets of toons in the videos, and initially i TANKED my mmr while learning, so it's been a slow climb up since.

Here is my first video. No fancy editing, as i don't know how and it's 4am. Note that this is all at very low mmr. The highest team i faced (though not sure if recorded) was 1600, most were much much lower. This is not a check my skill video, more just a proof of concept and entertainment.

You got a wow armory profile link you can share with us!.

Sure, here is one of the leader, though he is not the best geaed due to shamsou getting incredible luck on every boss drop ever haha. Also gear was updated to this, after all recording. http://armorylite.com/us/kiljaeden/Shamsoo

HS, i think, is better in 2s as it heals for more and there is less need for topping everyone, though in 5s if you take echo of the elements, chain heal is really strong, even without echo, i find more people need healing and ch when together is nice.

Are you using both clients to heal with clicks? Or whats going on down at the bottom? Mouseover macros?

karr
12-18-2013, 05:56 PM
Yes, it is Grid with the addon customlayouts. then a simple list so that my team is always the only ones on that list and always in the same order. Then on top i have the addon clique, which just allows you to click grid spots and it will send heals for each click. Combine all that with repeater regions of ISboxer, means in that area my mouse is copied to all characters.

It is not the most efficient, or could be improved on, as when i am dpsing or trying to stay on target, i don't often have a free global for a heal, so i spam click. I might assign another IWT key that i can spam so i can switch to that key while spam clicking heal so i can stay on target while healing and not losing the heal to a GCD.

Anyway, i didn't do any arena today, but did farm coins for a few hours. Had a 2-3 others with me and held the bridge for a long time against a lot of people, until a hulon raid emerged haha. That and every now and then two 1million hp locks would come and own some face. haha, PvE gear man, its insane wpvp.

I might do some 5s tonight, and i will record that as well.

I have dabbled in 3s, but generally have gotten pretty owned, again this was a lot of gear ago, but still it was rough, and excludes one.

Ok just did about an hour of 5s, forgot to hit record on about half of them, but i am editing (shortening) a few matches now. All mmr were between 1200 and 1700. Will edit this when it's uploaded...

Here it is. played about 19 games this week, won about 60% starting at low mmr, 1300 or so.

Thx you for sharing :)

Keep them coming.

gameplay looks solid keep practicing, especially keep track of the searing totem after fire elementals you forget it often just as I do^^

Thanks all. Yes i used to have searing macro'd in so new targets it would drop one, or after time. But it would cancel out my fire ele, so i am trying to do it manually, as you can see, i almost always forget to drop it. It is one of the many areas i could improve upon

ATM i am trying to farm up some gold. Most of my characters are running pretty dry, if anyone has any ideas feel free to post them. Keep in mind i really don't do well with professions, so if there is an instance or area that i can farm, that is ideal.

I am about to go grind some entry lvl MoP instances for greens to AH, as the twinks eat them up.

I made gold by farming the big zandalari raremobs as well as the smaller ones nearby, aside from getting profession mats +gold+rnd epics+mount you'll also get some movement training, for me that was very fun to do as my server is pretty empty

otherwise I'm doing retro raids mostly when someone pays me for rushing him through and I was also offering 85-90 boosts@ dooker dome on the forums

Ah new thought. Anyone have any ideas about what would make a good/great second team? I would like to at least start one before my raf runs out. Was thinking the classic DK x4, not much healing though. I could see some good potential for chaining remorseless winters with one toon with the aoe grip talent. Not as much on demand burst, but if you could get UH to work could be some great spread damage.

I am thinking melee team right now, so DK, could try rogue, but i dont really think that it's too great. Could certainly sap arena 1-4 and burst one guy down before even out of subterfuge. As well 4x blind after, 4 smokes not bad. One bop or bubble and you're out of luck, as well roots would be a constant trouble.

Warriors could be fun, but i am not great with proc based multiboxing, so that is a little tough. ret... how is ret these days? Every time i face one they never really seem much of a concern, ground their hoj normal dps for bubble, then easy burst or normal kill after. They seem squishy

i have never played a monk, so it's probably unwise to start a boxed team of them, as well it seems, like warriors, mobility is one of their strong points (but not really in a boxing way).

lock would be fun, but caster classes, i feel, are difficult nowadays with all the knockbacks, mage no way, hunter looks strongish, feral seems to squish. Boomkin is strong, but again caster, though cycling vortex beams (any DR there?) could be incredibly strong. They do seem to ramp up a bit slowly though

SO anyway suggestions? Please give some points about your choice and viability of what you say. Thanks

If you're going to theorycrafting new comps, then I suggest you create a new thread to start a new discussion. This thread started off as a 5v5 Enhancement thread, then slightly turned into a "how does everyone else make money" thread, and may very well turn into a "what's the new flavor of the month" thread.

It's only going to lead to confusion.

Ah very true, i will keep on track then haha. Going to do some 5s tonight, going to try to barrell past the 1700s. Guild that can help me beyond that has a 1750 rating requirement. Really shouldnt be hard as i am already facing teams thereabouts.

Anyone have any insight on how to combat a team that camps the highground with an ele shaman, like the bridge in blades edge? i tried humping the lower part waiting them out, to no avail, they could get angles on me and zap me. Comp was mostly ranged.

ele shaman in blades edge usually means kill the ele first or fight under the bridge/turtle until ascendance is ready again if failed

karr
12-20-2013, 09:09 PM
Ah yeah that's what I should have done. I should have rushed in and tried to boom the shaman quickly and retreated if failed. I will post the video of that loss once I fix or replace my monitor.

Yup my LCD monitor failed. From a brief look over, I think I found 3 capacitors that are proofed up. No tester so just going t try to replace all. If not it will be some time before I am online again as I live in a super small town and will need to ship something in.

Back on topic. Very difficult I know, but I saw a video of a shaman in 5s dropping combat using spirit walkers grace to start rezzing a team mate then running los of that player and enemies to get a Rez. Hard to pull off boxing but interesting idea.

As promised, computer is back up and running (soldered in 3 new capacitors) so here is my 5v5 loss (one of) vs an ele where they control the bridge. You can see my indecision and where it all goes down hill.

I don't think i am going to run with a pally anymore, they seem quite squishy and still very easy to cc chain. So far my favorite is still priest. Went up to 1600 these last games, but every loss was due to a healer getting a rez on their team and my pally dieing. obviously i need to wake the fk up and stop rezzers, but it's hard to focus on when im on the edge of death and spending every maelstorm healing.

I think that's the limits of multiboxing there.. You can't have your eyes on everything.

Perhaps an add-on who give you a fair warning when someone start casting a rez exist.

Grats for the 1600 and moar videos for your friendly forum pls :)

I agree with the above. While i would appreciate a healer that stops rezzers, sometimes its just not possible for them and there are things i could do. Firstly bring all my guys to that person. Second options, use it as a time for more burst and trade a more vital kill. third wolves or elementals on a macro or on leaders own macro. last, and much more complicated. have some sort of breakaway key to have my leader or another run to attack the rezzer while others dps continue.

So there are options, but none of them really easy, especially when the tunnel vision sets in, and even more especially when you get to higher MMRs where they will be smarter about going for rezzes.

I will put out more videos soon. I work in Aspen, and right now im running 13 + hour days, and a bit of a social life too (last night out until 5am, work at 10). So as soon as we slow down a bit i can game it up a bit more.

Thanks for the interest. Will throw some older videos up now if i can find some. EDITED, only found one. Had about 3-4 4x warr videos, but it's literally me just geting bladestormed on haha

Thx for the videos :)

Looks like you are almost done with your equipment.
On your last video, i though you forgot about the oneshot macro :) Took you a while to use it. Is it to make sure that the team you face will not anticipate it?

Grats on 1730.

Basically yes. I love to kill mages as they can really disrupt my whole team, so I try to not use one shot until I can get a block, as a quick Mage can sometimes survive the first blast and block, I pop it on the Druid as if he blocks the Mage has no heals and Druid has to choose himself or the Mage, as they are both in bad situation. Timed so second blast would hit after block was off and Mage can't cold snap and reblock yet. This time though Druid did not block and just died. Rdruids die really easily they have no detterence or block, and are not expecting the switch.

more videos to come, currently back down to 1700 even, just faced a 5 warrior team and came out on top!

All i really did was blow all defensive CDs right off (forgot wolves) and kept full key broadcasting on in the open. So my guys just ran wherever their hearts desired for the first open. after the first dip i targeted one warr still storming and one shot. Nothing fancy at all really.

5 dps is usually only problematic with rogue, anyway when I'm facing such comps I'm going for primal elementalist for 20% dmg reduce and totemic resistance to have tide and stream down

I've been incredibly busy at work and social circuit so last few weeks have just been 2s light 5s and celestials. Well went on email today and accounts are banned. Not sure why just yet. Trying to sort it out. Will look into more tomorrow. But if it's not overturned easily I'm out. Mboxing was the last thing I wanted to do before not coming back at all. Could be time to move on
