View Full Version : [WoW] What EU realm should I choose

Hello.
It's been five years since I played WoW and a lot have changed.
Cross realm stuff and seeing people from other realms try to kill me.
Anyhow, I want to start a RaF team fresh up on a new realm.
I used to play on Stormscale EU PVP, but the Alliance / Horde ratio is ridiculous and the realm seems to be very ignorant.
I'm very much into serious PvE, but also enjoy PvP and especially WPvP.
My wish list:
- Both new and veteran players
- Fair alliance / horde ratio, also when it comes to raid progress
- People doing WPvP and not just the daily destruction of some alliance city, preferably both Alliance and Horde will make a stand for it
- Many people - no vacuum in LFG, Auction Houses, etc.
Can anyone recommend a realm which has some if not all of the above?
If you are an active EU boxer, also don't hesitate to post what realm you're playing on, and how you feel about that realm.
It would be cool to be on realm with another boxer.
Thanks and happy holidays everyone!
I might add this I already know:
Stormscale, Twisting Nether: Alliance population extinct
Outland: Horde population extinct

http://www.wowprogress.com/realms/rank/eu is your best bet to check faction balance and pve activity. It basically computes how many people have killed a raid boss per faction. If you click a realm you can see the guilds and check yourself what language those guilds are (e.g. burning legion as always had fairly balanced factions, but pretty much every guild there is Polish).
Cross realm zones mean that in the 1-85 zones you will meet plenty of people of the opposite faction. Basically battlegroups share the 1 to 85 zones. Now they are even in the process of merging low pop realms as well (as in sharing everything, from chat to auction house). But it might take a while before this is completed (connected realms is the term blizzard uses).
There are very few balanced English speaking realms who have a decent population and have a good pve community at the same time.

Thank you for your input.

Would you happen to know any of those?

World pvp i can help with, Outland has a lot of world pvp going on a lot of the times. But you going to have a nice login que at times!
i play on grim-batol EU as ally and horde/ally are always at the dark portal seems to be a Wpvp zone atm. (crz zone) ((we share crz with some big realms))
But the horde on this server is more of less dead at all times! so no world pvp on timeless island, Saying this it should be fixxed soon™ as we getting linked to a server with a lot of horde. (infact where all the horde left to) when we linked we could close to a A60/H40 from looking at the zones at peek/ofpeek.
Anyway if you wonnted to join up for some wpvp then pm me for my battletag. But as far as i can till the EU is not the best place to be doing wpvp its nothing like usa on some realms.

Thanks for your input on Grim-Batol EU.
How is PvE there? I see it's not too high ranked on WoW Progress.
Also, I'm looking at Defias Brotherhood EU right now.. Seems to be pretty good and I hear that an RP server might actually be a benefit in many aspects I like.
Is anyone boxing on Defias Brotherhood EU? Do we keep an updated list of boxers anywhere, btw?

i used to box there a nice little realm might even have a few chars still there i have a friend there that play 8 chars hyperunknown but she does not really do a lot on the realm anymore. (was in a top pve guild in wotlk)
to be fair its easyer to go with the realm and then just get boxers with realID we can do wpvp togaver. as long as you pick to right faction. to get both its going to be hard!

Multiboxers come and go so often it makes it difficult to keep such a list these days.

Ok, well I'm going to try out Defias Brotherhood EU then.
As for choosing the right faction it seems from around these forums that many people are alliance and many people are horde, so it's something like 50/50 I guess.

It's a "full" realm o.O

well maybe but the players used to be great there! Probs the best times i had in wow is on that realm. But i left to be with more boxers that all have more of left the game now (gimp) this is before all the Cross realm stuff that makes it a lot easyer then before!
