I took the plunge with EvE online and I'm currently 10 boxing it. I have a really good quasi-dashboard setup that I'm very pleased with, but for the first time ever I feel like my 27" monitor does not have enough room to display all of the information I want to see.

I looked at 30" monitors and they do not offer enough screen real estate increase to justify the price tag.

That leaves... A TV setup? Is it primarily the MS delay that keeps people from playing on them?

I have a 50" flatscreen that I can HDMI into but it'd be a pita to move it for a test. I'm looking for any input on this topic. Thanks in advance!

I don't get it.. screen real estate as in amount of information that can fit on it, or actual size? You can buy a projector and get a 200" screen but if it's still in 1080p you don't get any extra room on the screen. If you just can't fit it all on the screen and vision isn't an issue I think they hey 27's that can do the 2500x1600 or whatever that 30's did years ago.

I think very large TV's, 50-70" + in ultra HD are going to cost a fortune if you need both high resolution and size.

I'd suggest getting two smaller monitors to flank the one you have rather than trying to do one giant monitor.

Exactly this. There is no difference in 'screen real estate' if your TV or monitor are the same resolution, it's just going to be bigger and more stretched out.

2560x1440 seems to be the sweet spot these days and has the same aspect ratio as 1080.

When I say "screen real estate" I'm talking about the absolute size of the tv or monitor. I don't care if it's more pixelated because the resolution isn't amazing. Increasing the resolution just means I can scale stuff smaller. I don't want to have to squint at some of my video feeds because they have to be shrunk to fit all of'em on the screen :) Unfortunately the UI in EvE is just that customizable.

Thanks for the responses so far!

With all that in mind, would a 42" hi-def TV screen potentially function?
