Hey i'm Empa (duh) I come from sweden and by accident came over this site and went like  This is new for me and i'd like to try it out (i have notthing better to do so why not do this lol) i dont play WoW anymore had lvl 45 warrior on moonglade(EU) I used to play on SWG untill the game was ruind by sony online entertainment (So please dont ask me to buy SONY stuf unless it's relly cheap or there's no other)

So ive thought of it I'm going to setup 2 computer's in my room with seperate Screen's (one each) One comp is high end (imo) and other is pretty crappy.

High end: 1gb 8500 balistix. 8800 gts 320 (Over clocked from BFG) E4400 (2ghz dual core duo) mobo is MSI 945P Neo3.

Low end one is: 1gb 3200 Kingston (or some like that i belive) It no longer have a GPU but used to run on a 7300. (I need help on finding a good pci E cheap GPU) it allso got a 3ghz celleron (>_<)

Low end one is only gonna be used for SWG (Star Wars Galaxies Emulator)

If i setup both for internet will i get seperate IP's? (through a Router unless theres another way so that the internet come's in through my High end one and then later on goes into the low end one)

Allso i need a good 120mm fan for my chassi (it over heat's allot -_-)

Thank you for reading =)

ps if someone would like to be an angel and give me a vanguard trial key please pm me it :D

Same IP for all machines, unless you have several plugs to hook up to and an ISP deal for several different IPs. Hit up datorbutiken.com for some of the graphics card they have on sale, I found a 6600GT for 350ish and it's doing a great job at running everything I've thrown at it so far - my last graphics card was a 9800 Pro so your mileage may vary, but it's more than enough for Source engine games and WoW.

As for the fan, ensure it's for computers, and not for cars or anything like that. I bought a 92mm fan that pushed 85 cubic feet of air, but made enough noise to cancel out my music.

..vanguard? You will need a hefty computer for that, times two.

howdy empa.

hopefully, your router is a NAT firewall as well. this would give you some protection against the various bad bandwidth on the net. if so, then all bandwidth coming from that router would have the same WAN IP, although it would have a different LAN IP. personally, i like Netgear equipment (and always go for switches... never hubs)

not sure about Vanguard, but look for the latest drivers and maybe that'll squeeze a few more pixels/second for you.

you should also look into getting synergy to work between the two machines with a single keyboard/mouse. very useful

I'm looking att buying a 8400 it's cheap and new.

What should i get 6600 or 8400?

Allso kyllpasta (no idea in english it's some sticky "glue" you put on CPU to make it cooler. How important is that? i forgot that for my e4400 might be reason why my Overheating happend's

And if anyone got xfire you can add me there as empa. i'm allmost online all the time lol.

re: 6600 or 8400
i am sure either would be fine... considering i am on an old 1.5GHz laptop (for the moment) using an ATI mobility/radeon 9000 with only 64M of grfx memory... and i can easily run 2 instances of wow or shadowbane (not sure how Vanguard would react)

re: heatsink thermal glue
yes... pretty useful. read this article for some tips

Cooling paste is important, a smidgen of it. Some people experience very hot processors because they forget to remove the plastic on the heatsink before mounting everything.

The 8400 should be faster than the 6600gt. If you can get an 8400GS for no more than 500 SEK I'd say it might be an ok deal, seems to be a pinch better performance than the lowest strength of the new ATI 2400 series of cards.

Ok guy's as i said i'm only gonna play Vanguard on my high end computer.

Only game i'll dual play is SWG Emu. for now. And my low end computer will run it since ive played SWG on worse computers.

That's under 500swedish kronor.

And vanguard i'm still not sure if i'll play it tho. I'm just looking for a trial then i'll judge the game if it's worth playing =)

Allso thank's for all the replyies they have been werry helpfull. Thank's mate's.

Interesting. I played SWG for a while, enjoying the crafting and selling off MD buffs, TK goodness and CH/rifleman fun. All of that was basically deleted when SOE wrecked the game.

Had some real fun times there, even though seen in retrospect there were several real flaws in the game, with the mission terminals and no Z-axis. =]
