View Full Version : Anybody thinking about the Tournament Realms?

I haven't kept up to speed on Patch 2.4, so I figured I ought to actually read the Patch Notes since it is going live today. I noticed that there will be optional registration for Tournament Realms ('http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/tournament/index.xml') that are exclusively 3v3 Arenas. I wondered if anyone here was considering it? I myself focus on PvE, so this doesn't interest me much. I just thought I'd start up the conversation since this could lead to MBers getting quite a bit of attention - more than we usually get. There is a $20 entry fee per account, but that isn't going to stop anyone here.
From what I understand, most of the arena people here are 5 Boxers, so this may not interest them that much. Also, there are cash rewards involved and I can just imagine the number of anti-MBer whiners trying to get MBers banned from this since (at least, as they perceive it) we stand a better chance of whipping them in arenas.
Thoughts, anyone?

I imagine if money is involved you'll probably only see the more coordinated teams on these servers. The only reason multiboxers can beat out other arena teams is simply because they either aren't that good, or they don't have any coordination at all.
I could very well be wrong though, I've seen people post some really nice win streaks for arena tournaments.

even if we made it through to the qualifiers, and to the final, we wouldn't be allowed to use Keyclone or any other multi boxing broadcasting software.
would be fun anyway though, i was considering it until I realized i was in Texas for that whole month.

No, but is there any rules about using multiple PCs and keyboard multiplexers?

People motiviated by money are now in the "Professional" category. Multi-boxing 3 = 3x the cost, and in most cases, the odds are not in your favor in regards to coordination. Watch real money tournaments, Counter-Strike comes to mind and see how they do it where 25k+ is at stake.

Something tells me they wont let you do that at a live event. :P

I dunno...it'd be good press, "ONE MAN(Or Woman ;p) CONTROLS 3 CHARS MANUALLY, WINS PVP TOURNAMENT!" lol

Or bad press. Remember, bad press is pretty much all we can get. I'd love (well, in a sick way) to see a MBer try this just to raise a stink.

/me prods Ellay.
He's already the one-man-shaman-nerf-bat.
Problem is, no extra hardware or non Blizzard addons are allowed for Touraments.

I was going to ask if that was the case. I saw someone post that it wouldn't be allowed and I got upset thinking this was a way to exclude MBers from tourneys. Not that it hurts me since I'm not involved at all with them, but still.
Now that I see it's not an MBer thing, I'm wondering if it was a lack of coffee that caused me to misunderstand :)

Oh god yes.
/assist
/cast Chain Lightning
/win
That would so work. Except that the tourneys here are 3v3. But still. It would be funny to have a bunch of MBers make all the kiddies cry once again.
