New RaF System in 5.4.1

J. Allen Brack talks about some changes coming to the RaF system in WoW. No details about anything incredibly important, but since there are changes that are incoming, it might be safe to assume they're finally increasing the cap to 85 (perhaps? maybe?).

Well, if I'll be able to claim any of the referrals I have earned but not used (because they're currently useless what with shared mounts and all) from a new pool of rewards, I'm all for that. If not, meh, we'll see I suppose.

I liked what they mentioned about heirlooms, it would work like how mounts and pets work nowadays. My guess would be that this could make them cross realm.

this is the hole point as it feels dum mailing your own chars, there looking into a system for professions as well that make them boa as it feels dum to make a "alt" just for them. If they do it could be a really great for us.

I wonder if it will still be possible to move them between battle.net accounts with a character transfer. (like you can cage pets and transfer them, or like mounts that can't be passed around)

i say it work like mounts/pets do now. once there off you email they do not move with the char.

There's a cage functionality for pets that come from items, but nothing similar for mounts. That's the distinction I was pointing out.To me, it seems to make sense that you'd pull out heirlooms somehow (turn into an item) as they need to end up equipped. Unless of course they make bigger changes to equipment, but that doesn't seem like a x.y.1 patch change.

If heirlooms are checked out or copied out of the collection for usage, that usable item could easily be mailed/etc (especially if the checked out version is the version that exists today).

Ya I understand what your saying but I think it be a UI that be more of a spell/buff that changes your slot a bit like the cape for wow bday. They did say when we will see it and it be a xpac selling point.

yep but we will not see it till 6.0.1 and i know we see it at blizzcon in a few weeks.

RAF..... I so want to RAF another x5, but I already have my main bnet account full, I could remove 2 dead inactive accounts, but with the limitation on how many accounts on a bnet, would not leave enough room, and I like my achieves, mounts etc.

Any reason why we have limitations in how many accounts we can have under the one bnet ?

Thats the only thing stopping me from wanting to raf some more accounts with new raf coming, cause I wont be able to have them all under the 1 bnet :(

If you have unclaimed mounts you can just claim them after the patch drops and the new mount is live.


Oh and when is new RAF out ?

There is no date. Blizzard has never given a date for when patches will come out until a week or two before they happen. 5.4.1 is currently on the PTR, though.

phoned them today as my accounts got all massed up seems they changed the battle.net desktop app to stop muli-logins and you have to tick a box to support muli accounts.

Anyway i asked this when i was on the phone there web-end part of the system not kinda ready yet. but will be soon™ and they got some other cool stuff they want to say that's not been data minded.

Assets are in, just not switched on. I did go to battle.net online account page and the RAF is no longer there so any mounts claimed it appears will need to be on an active account (unlike before you could still claim on frozen/cancelled accounts.) Being everything is battle.net/account wide now maybe this will change with the new system.

There is a small prob i have find and unsure how it work on "live" The game does not understand what is email/account level is. That meens when you send a raf from the new system it goes from "email level" or how it looks like it did on the ptr so infact your "friends" can Raf with any of your chars at email level.

This could be very very very epic cool news (to us) if it works the way i think its going to work ;)

It looks like the RAF update (http://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/275115-recruit-a-friend-updates-coming-soon/) will be increasing the maximum level that it provides extra experience and levels from 80 to 85! Keep in mind this works for currently active RAF accounts, but no return date for the program has been announced yet.

I'm sure they'll adjust it again after WoD is live, but it's already been confirmed in multiple places that it goes to 85 and I doubt they're going to just let us skip the current leveling content 6 months before the next expansion drops.

One caveat with the new in-game interface is that you will need to use up all pending claims before you're able to recruit another player. I've already submitted a suggestion for them to fix this and allow us to not waste pending claims on crap we don't want or already have.

If you wish to keep your pending claims at this point in time, I believe you will need to call Blizzard in order for them to assist you manually with setting up RaF.

I can only use a res scroll. Not really worth RAF'ing 5 new accounts.

Just claimed my purple tiger pet and on other battlenet the golden pig. Waaa stupid me, didnt realise I cannot cage the pets to give it to my main account, and I wanted the Yellow Piggie as it stands out so much and so bright lol

Was going to raf some more toons, needed some warlocks, but after my 11 or so 90's I really do not want to level ever again really though panda land, even though I enjoy the xpac, I loathe leveling now.
So might just wait until new xpac drops and get a lvl 90 instead.

I have 1 lock its level 76 but i only level it while it is rested sooo slow!

Tested with 2 new clients RAFd from my main account. RAF invites from in-game menu sent successfully and worked. Grouped in starter area and was getting triple xp. So it appears to be working, or at least it WAS yesterday morning. But I did not see them say it was back up on twitter

It was actually back up after only a few hours of it being down, so all is well.

At the moment, even if you have all the rewards claimed and still have any pending claims to use, you still cannot use the in-game interface to recruit anyone. So, if this sounds like any of you, you'll either have to contact Blizzard and have them link up accounts for you, or wait until patch 5.4.2 when they "fix" this issue.
