Was an interview with ghostcrawler, holinka, hotted and swifty, and multiboxers came up. You can watch the vod here (http://en.twitch.tv/swifty/b/449856260), and it starts at minute 52 and a couple of seconds.

I could make your life miserable with 4 friends and me on one toon, whats the difference?

I guess its because then 5 people have fun and 5 people don't, with multiboxing 1 guy has fun and 5 don't
...
and now we look back to the seasons dominated by legendarys, the guy with legendary had fun and opponents don't
hydra nails it

With arguments like the one Greg Street put forward, I'm glad I don't play WoW anymore.

Well, I hate these arguments too, but unfortunately he's right. The casuals blame us for ANYTHING in a BG.
I was blamed for lag, LUA errors LOL, winning too fast, winning too slow, losing, being unfair to the other side, hacking, botting, cheating, etc.
So you have to understand that this is NOT rational. Video gamers in general are very emotional people due to their high adrenaline while they are playing.
So they will pick anything that stands out to blame their failures or whatever else.
When a premade of people wipes the floor in a BG, the other side are like whatever "its a premade so we have no chance", but when they see a boxer the way they feel is "CHEATER, BOTTER, HACKER HE SHOULD BE LYNCHED, REPORTED".
If I was a video game maker I would ban multiboxing assisted by a third party program without a second thought. But I'm not, so I enjoy causing as much pain as possible for as long as I can to get revenge for losing follow. See? My perspective is completely different as a player, than what my perspective would be if I was the video game maker.

Because they see it as something different, so it is easier for them to pass blame. Blizzard allows people to queue for bgs in groups of 5, and Ghostcrawler doesn't think this has the same effect in a bg as a multiboxer? He is a bumbling fool. That, or he is just trying to appease the common denominator.

Yep. Make no mistake: he's a business operator first and foremost.

This makes me glad I left WOW too. I always seen people playing Eve on these forums. It took /follow being removed for me to try it. Now I am sucked in. What a great game.

Casuals went berzerk when premades used to crush BGs. In vanilla WOW they complained even more, since at the time you could steamroll BGs with raid gear or PVP gear that had to be farmed through outrageous amounts of time spent in the game. Blizzard did everything they could to change this. To their credit, they held out for a pretty long time before trying to find ways to hobble multiboxing in BGs. But in spite of what the whiners say, I think they're reaching the point where they might feel that it's more costly to ignore multiboxing. I don't think they'll ever outlaw it in WOW, but they might keep looking for ways to make it less fun.

That's taking what he says out of the context imo (remember they re-enabled /follow in arena, which pretty much is a gesture towards multiboxing). I think more what he means is that if there is ever to occur a situation where the multiboxer has a guaranteed outcome, due to spell design, where 5 normal players stand no chance whatsoever, then it's no longer fine. Image for the sake of the example a patch change, something like 4x instant elemental blasts with 100% crit chance, and with 2 charges. A multiboxer could instantly kill 2 people in arena, no matter how good/bad they are.
Or in other words the moment where multiboxers become not counter-able whatsoever. That situation hasn't occurred yet, multiboxers stand a chance in 5v5 (you prove it) but it can be countered. Their policty and acting proves that (we have been multiboxing wow for what, 6 years? + they added follow back to arena).
I honestly don't understand the people saying that after what GC says they are glad they left WoW, what he says is a lot of common sense imo.

Well I agree that you can't let multiboxers be invincible and I'm expecting enhancement cleave to be nerfed into the ground if Krushpak keeps one-shoting people in arena with them having no chance to counter it.

I was doing bgs on my lvl 85 frost mage last night that is decked out in blue MoP BoE and crafted gear, at one point I was cornered one of the tunnels at WSG with 5 or 6 enemies against me.
I popped my one-shot macro which actives all my cds at once and managed to kill a pally and a shaman before i died. Forget multi-boxing to feel like a god, just play twinked in the level 80-89 bg bracket!

Agreed, however, what bothers me about the whole thing is, why don't they just come out and say it like it is. If only they posted on the forums or their blog that MB is ok, but not in the BGs and that's why we removed /follow, that would be perfectly fine with me.
It reminds me of the damn vanish bug that was introduced in patch 1.4 (!), they refused to acknowledge that it was a bug until way into BC, when they finally fixed it.
As far as openness they could learn a lesson from ccp I guess.
Having said that, wow is still a great game to box :).

They have said on several occasions that they are ok with multiboxing, though don't support it.
They have explained why they removed /follow from bg's, that multiboxing was collateral damage but that they are fine with that given how controversial it is in bg's.
They have re-enabled /follow in arenas, as a gesture towards the multiboxing community.
Pretty much everyone who got banned when they started using the new server side pattern detection software to weed out bots, got his accounts back shortly after.
I honestly don't see what else you would expect them to say, definitely not after this interview: 'we are fine with multiboxing, but if it starts getting out of hand we might have to take actions'.
Sometimes I have the feeling that the common sense that once reigned on this board when it comes down to blizzard and mb, is replaced by a lot of people jumping on the popular bash blizzard band wagon, regardless from reality.

The scenario you present is not an issue of multiboxing, but rather an issue of game design. (that could be exploited by anyone, multiboxing or no.) The whole point is that anything that multiboxers can do to "ruin" the game experience for other players is done on a daily basis by regular players queuing up in groups. Just look at the BG forums - people complain about getting stomped in bgs by groups constantly. That is why I scoff at Ghostcrawler's comments on multiboxing - they are incredibly short-sighted.

Maybe if we named our characters with completed different names and do mixed classes then we won't be so easy to spot.

it was to help with the "bots" they just ok with us not being in bg's though
the talk seemed more about arana/wpvp with lots off boxers & good arena players.
Maybe we get follow in the hardcare bg's in the next xpac? (that you have to que up in a group three or more. or whatever they work out. or let groups join up in Rbg's)
The last PTR patch removed /follow from arenas again. not tryed it on the new one that came out last few days.

just tried it, still works
with the remove of follow in bgs they've pretty much killed pvp multiboxing for most so I don't see why they would nerf the last 1% of the 0,xx1% community
