I only just started in rift 10 boxing, hit level 52 a week or so ago before I got busy with some RL stuff. Now they yoinked AF from instanced PvP.
What are our options now? SWTOR is heavily crippled f2p and I don't really want to sub to it. What are other people considering at this point?

Get to 60 then go round on a pvp server killing anything that moves.

Combat in Eve is like watching paint dry to me...The one thing that holds me back from it since I love everything else about the game.

Final Fantasy XIV is coming out soon, but there's no PvP as far as I'm aware. Going from getting used to Rift not having to sub and getting bonuses to having to sub just to play again is kinda lame, though.

Combat is certainly more interesting than it looks from a Video. There are a lot of variables and strategies that can effect the outcome. You'll have damage types, resistances, ECM, Logistics, webs, scramblers, etc. that may not be apparent from just watching a youtube video.

I know lots to take in I tried it with 4 box and my brain almost melted and that was just the starting missions.

I played LOTRO before I Rift came out and switched. I liked LOTRO, but not as much as Rift. Besides Final Fantasy, anything else coming up? I don't care if it's F2P or subscription-based. Anyone tried Age Of Conan lately? Is it still alive? There were many things I liked about it, except the dungeon-nerfing and crafting system...

I've played EvE.
In fact, I was a member of the corp to make the very first BS blueprints in the game ;p It was the scorpion if you are wondering! I still find the combat boring unfortunately ;(

I think game companies are wising up to us. I imagine a lot of new games will either: a. not have autofollow (or disabled in BGs) or b. straight up say that it isn't allowed.

FFXIV has some PvP, sort of like arenas, and open-wprld PvP areas designated for PvP. But there are no battleground style things, yet.

Yeah, I hadn't seen them mention it at the time. Apparently it's being added in after launch.

For me its back to wow, single box. I know I'll get burned out in a month but for now I'm having a blast with openraid.us and I actually read the most recent book to try and get more invested in the lore.
